  1. I don’t think you’re crazy and I would be livid if a healthcare provider of any kind scheduled me for a procedure without telling me first. At best, it’s an honest dentist with terrible communication skills, which would be enough for me to drop the dentist. At worst, it’s a dishonest dentist who is overtreating you, costing you money and putting you at risk of complications. Like you, I went several years without seeing a dentist. I brushed my teeth frequently and never sensed a problem, plus I was very busy and then I moved cities. Eventually, I found a new dentist and she did 4 fillings at the first visit. I didn’t argue and felt like I probably deserved it for skipping the dentist for a few years. 2 of those teeth developed abscesses within the first 3 weeks of treatment, requiring root canals and crowns ($3k per tooth). The other 2 teeth eventually followed suit, so all 4 teeth that she drilled on ended up as crowns. Between the dentist and the endodontist, with exams, x-rays, fillings, root canals, and crowns, I spent $25k+ in a span of 2 years. All OOP because I didn’t have dental insurance. I’m not entirely convinced she didn’t fuck up my teeth at that first visit, but she would never admit that. So I need a new dentist again.
  2. Scenario A - Trump is not implicated in the Epstein files. There is nothing to strategize on. Just release the info and go after Clinton and Gates and whoever. Scenario B - Trump is implicated in the Epstein files. Maybe they need to develop a strategy. The funny thing about them meeting to strategize is that Scenario B is true.
  3. When one side is pure evil and destructive, the other side can still be kind of bad and easily be considered more virtuous. The shocking thing is when people cannot realize or admit how evil that one side is. Perhaps you know it deep down and won’t admit it out loud, or your conscious mind suppresses what your subconscious mind senses is true. Maybe that’s your defense mechanism that allows you to believe the lies you are told because somehow you believe that party benefits you personally even if it comes at an enormous cost to those around you. As long as you got yours, or foolishly believe you are getting yours. Or perhaps you are just rotten inside or easily manipulated by misinformation. I wouldn’t go so far as to suggest anything about reasonably intelligent people on both sides. Any “intelligent” person who supports the current regime is a selfish racist asshole who is willing to turn a blind eye to things like sexual assault, pedophilia, abuse of government power, all while actively rejecting things like science, medicine, education, arts, history, and basic human decency.
  4. The next pandemic should be fun.
  5. Okay, so you’re critical of the Democrat response to a situation. Just to clarify, how do you feel about the actual situation that prompted that response? Do you think Texas should redraw congressional districts before the 2026 midterms?
  6. Nice meeting you and your family and glad it was a good trip. We had a lot of fun taking our daughter for her first time. Traveling with a toddler is a wild card but she was really good. Different from every other trip but we loved it and we’re already kicking around dates for next year.
  7. We are so fucked. People have chosen ignorance over science and truth.
  8. Absolutely. Media: So you cut Epstein off because you suspected him of being a pedophile and child sex trafficker? Trump: Oh, that? That’s a hoax. Jeff is a good guy and we have the same taste in women but he stole my spa and no spa girls. I don’t like people who steal teenage girls like Virginia Giuffre from me. Media: Okay. Foxnews: Biden’s doctors helped hide his dementia.
  9. So he’s taking another swing at “the whole thing is a scam set up by the democrats” line of defense. Such a ridiculous explanation that only a completely guilty person would even attempt to claim that, yet 40% of the country will grow to believe this by October.
  10. Everything about Trump is infuriating, but it especially pisses me off that he got both ABC and CBS to settle with him over things that were basically true, and meanwhile he spews obviously false nonsense all over the internet on a daily basis. Things that are verifiably incorrect, yet no is able to make him stop vomiting lies.
  11. Well it seems pretty obvious that Maxwell is not in charge of her own situation at this point. It’s not like she has been peacefully locked away and then gradually became remorseful and decided on her own accord to open up to Oprah or 60 Minutes to clear her conscience. Pretty sure this past week, she was told in no uncertain terms “start talking.” What she actually said, or the extent to which she was forced or not forced to say certain things, we will likely never know. If she said anything incriminating against Trump, it’s almost a certainty we will not get the unadulterated version of that. You would have to be an idiot to think otherwise. If she gave a testimony that absolves Trump, most reasonable people outside of the MAGA cult would always wonder the extent to which she was forced to do so. Under normal circumstances, her testimony is not trustworthy. She was already charged with perjury twice. Under the current circumstances, anything she says is about as valid as anything Trump says, which is to say, likely a lie.
  12. Maybe she was concerned that saying anything at all would result in her suicide.
  13. It still seems to me highly problematic for Trump that if Maxwell names specific offenders, there becomes an obligation to investigate or prosecute those people. That process may eventually lead to people opening up about Trump, who would otherwise remain silent. People who were on the island and at these New York parties know who else was there, and what kind of vile shit they were all doing together. It’s best for all of them if everyone stays quiet until the grave.
  14. That certainly could happen, and I’m not even disagreeing that it’s likely to happen, but there’s the huge risk of: A) Everyone including MAGA being pissed that Maxwell was pardoned B) The offenders she names suddenly want to tell all about Trump, and perhaps they have photos or other evidence
  15. It seems like a massive political gamble to pardon Maxwell. To even have the slightest chance of working in Trump’s favor, she would need to claim that Trump was never a part of the Epstein sex stuff while also offering up some names of offenders that could be prosecuted and satisfy the MAGA bloodlust. With just the first part, it would make no sense at all to let a known child sex trafficker go free. Also, if Maxwell throws a few other people under the bus on Trump’s behalf, you have to worry about those people talking. They are currently quiet because they are still anonymous. It’s a mutually assured destruction situation. All of that being said, never underestimate the ability of MAGA to be gaslighted by their orange god.
  16. I assumed the would be the follow up to changing the names of military bases back. I’m surprised it took him this long. I’m sure by the end of the year, a Texas state congressman from East Texas will introduce a bill to start changing street names back. Azie Morton Rd will become Robert E Lee again.
  17. What stops a massive billboard campaign with those Trump-Epstein bff photos in every major red state city in America? Make people look at it every day.
  18. Whatever the truth is about the Epstein list and files, Ghislaine Maxwell is still alive and she knows basically everything. I guess even if she wanted to talk, she has a logistical dilemma in how to do that from her prison cell without accidentally suiciding herself. Is there something about her legal situation that prevents Trump from pardoning her in exchange for her silence? Or would it just be the public backlash against him? He already pardoned J6ers and child pornographers and countless other criminals.
  19. This is obviously the case. MAGA likes him because his vendettas align with some of their own despicable interests - get rid of non-white people, get rid of LGBTQ, attack education, attack science, attack intellectualism, attack anything that can be considered woke. What they fail to see is that Trump really doesn’t care about them at all. He doesn’t like poor people beyond his need for them to elect him, which is now in the past. Christians and religious people are delusional in thinking he is one of them. Middle America and farmers, same deal. He isn’t serving most of them except occasionally by accident. Not because he wanted to help them, but because his vindictiveness and greed happens to work in their favor. Trump serves himself, his family, and whatever billionaires or world leaders kiss his ass hard enough.
  20. I’m sure there are contractual reasons that prevent this, but as a long time 60 Minutes watcher, I would like to see the staff all walk out on CBS and burn it to the ground on the way out. Start a new independent news show with the same talent and package it with Colbert and anyone else that’s sick of it.
  21. Is there any chance the stress from this will cause him to stroke out? Like in a weird plot twist, Epstein kills Trump?
  22. They must have the cards to back it up because, with Trump suing every media outlet that goes against him on even slightly flimsy grounds, there's no way the WSJ would publish that without solid evidence. He won a settlement against 60 Minutes and ABC for far less.
  23. If Jesus was carrying them home, then why did people save some of them?
  24. People here have linked meeting minutes from a couple of separate meetings in which they seemed to reject funds that came from Obama or Biden. The quotes were pretty damning. I listened to The Daily (NYT) podcast episode on this yesterday and it was a little less clear about it. You can listen here, starting at the 19:30 mark: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-daily/id1200361736?i=1000717346070 They said that Kerr County officials tried on multiple occasions to get funding and were denied. 1. Kerr County approached TDEM in 2017 and told the proposal did meet federal grant requirements. 2. They tried again in 2018 and the state declined again. 3. In 2024, the Upper Guadalupe River Authority went to the Texas Water Development Board, which only offered a tiny grant that wasn’t big enough. For whatever reason, The Daily makes no mention of the funding that was supposedly offered and Kerr County declined because it came from Biden. They are normally pretty thorough with their journalism and that seems easy enough info to uncover, so I was confused why it wasn’t discussed. I found this other article from The Texas Tribune that goes into it: https://www.texastribune.org/2025/07/10/texas-kerr-county-commissioners-flooding-warning/ It says that Kerr County was given a $10.2 million grant from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) in 2021. That is apparently the “Biden money” they wanted to send back, but ultimately kept it and opted to spend it on things other than flood warning systems. They spent $7MM on public safety radios for the sheriff and fire departments, $1MM on bonuses for the sheriff’s employees, and other undisclosed stuff. Perhaps it wasn’t mentioned by The Daily because the ARPA funds were specifically provided for flood warning systems. Although they could’ve used it for that and chose not to, and you have to wonder about those $1MM in bonuses when the flood warning system also costs $1MM.
  25. This is where I’m at. Everyone knew this river was dangerous. There are past quotes from the people who ran Camp Mystic as well as from local authorities. There have been quotes from government officials in press conferences since the flood, telling us all how dangerous the river valley can be. I think they are trying to say it in a “Mother Nature is a bitch” kind of way, but it also highlights how much everyone universally agreed that it was dangerous and flooding was a serious threat. Despite all of that, Camp Mystic chose to let 650+ young girls sleep in a floodway, with no apparent plan to protect them if a flood occurred during the night. The weather forecast called for a high likelihood of flash flooding. They had one night security guard who was incapable of monitoring a river and providing timely warning. They should’ve had multiple hands on deck with eyes on the river at all times, or if that was too difficult to do, then simply let the 1:14 AM NWS flood warning be the GTFO signal. It would be different if this was a place that had never flooded before or if the NWS had failed to predict flooding, but neither of those are true. They knew and they ignored it. People say they get flash flooding warnings all the time. That may certainly be true, but when you are responsible for the lives of 650+ young girls, you have to treat every single one as a potential safety risk. They failed to do that.
