I'm not trying to increase the digital footprint of my kids before they, or I know what that might entail. Better safe than sorry I guess
  2. Fuck that game, but I did cook some crab legs, which helped. Baked in foil packets, with some roasted potatoes and corn, and some garlic butter for dipping

About $10k, but I was driving around earlier with my dog exploring nearby neighborhoods, and an SUV full of what I can only assume were drunk (hopefully not the driver) high school girls, called out, "hey there hottie, what are you doing tonight?" and asked for my number, to which I replied, "I'm 35!"... I heard nothing else from them as I kept driving. Still though, I haven't had a #metoo since college, so that was nice. I've spotted a few local ponds accessible legally by cart, but am going to be looking for more. Unfortunately, one of my favorites, I don't think I can get to by cart because I can only drive on roads with a speed limit less than 35.

Took delivery today. Perfect timing for cruising the neighborhood flying the Texas flag tomorrow after our win. I took this one a bit too early. My barely 4 year old was still working on her hook ‘em, but she got it
  5. Basic in line switch. I got a 15’ grounded extension cord, cut the end off, wired it to the far light, stapled it to the back of the headboard, cut again at the light closest to the plug, wired it in, then the in line switch about four feet from the male end of the cord and done. I may attach the switch to the headboard later, but for now it hangs in a good spot. My son loves it.
  6. Got the lights in today. Put them where the wife wanted, but I think they should have come in another 4-6” or so. Oh well, too late now.
  7. Not certain the golden triangle thread made it over, so I’m posting here. The last of my Nicks boudain. Sad day but glorious. I’ve also potentially got a lead on one of the cooks that is still making the same recipe but out of his house. And before I get shit for the plate, My final Nicks deserves the respect of a ceramic
  8. Will likely add the lights, but with as long as it took for the wife to pick a stain color, she won’t settle on a set of lights until Christmas, so for now... it’s done.
  9. Also, it is level, just took a crooked picture. I'm really happy with it, but after putting it up, I am going to anchor it to the wall. Now it is just a matter of time before we catch JSB Jr. throwing knives or darts into it. I did just that as a kid into my dresser, and karma being a bitch and all...
  10. Up and in. Next the lights but no rush for them. Finally get to use the bedding my wife purchased two years ago.
  11. Ok, this may belong in an electrical thread, but it is simple enough I think, I thought I would start here. What I want to do with this headboard now that it is sealed, is to add some lantern style lights to either side that are on a switch installed in the headboard. I will first have to convert the hard wired lights to plug in lights, but that is simple enough to just splice them with an extension cord. I also want to put a light switch in between the plug and the lights, which I will install on the side of the headboard. Switches typically have a neutral wire though, and extension cords only have hot and ground. Do I just leave the neutral unconnected?

On Saturday I put down the deposit to start a build similar to this with excessive carts in Prosper Mine will have slightly different seats, black wheels, black struts for the roof, a fishing pole holder on the back, no expanded metal on the grill guard and a 20” light bar in front, but otherwise pretty much this. 5-6 weeks out, but I’m pumped. I’ll mostly cruise the neighborhood, but will take it to the FILs lake house when we go up every few months as well.
  13. Posted about this project a bit in the wife thread because of the 14 different stain samples I had to do, but just finished staining a headboard for my almost 7 year old. Next step is to put on poly tomorrow night, but a mattress and cut the legs to the appropriate height. I also want to add some old camp lanterns that are wired for AC on a switch that will hang from either side, but that will come later. My son helped me, and it was a really fun project. I’m not great, but the fact it was supposed to be somewhat rustic gave me the wiggle room I needed to tackle it.
  14. So my son is almost 7 and we are about to get him a queen size bed so that we can use the bedding that my wife bought 3 years ago because “it was just perfect”. I took the opportunity to have him help me build a headboard for it. We are going with a rustic pallet board style, but with nicer Pine. Everything is cut, sanded, ready to stain and assemble, but guess who can’t decide what color stain to use. I have already stained 10 different samples using 5 different stains letting them sit for various times, and guess who is going back to Home Depot for another stain at lunch? I know it is on me, but I wish I would have just done it without asking her opinion. Nothing brings out the crazy in a woman like a project for the house.
  15. Sorry for the late reply, but around 250 for 2 1/2 hours or so. Don't remember specifically, just cook to temp
  16. You are a great cook, but for me, taste is the most important thing. The actual recipe calls for a can of peeled tomatoes, I just happened to have some in my garden that I subbed in. I've never tried it without the rotel, all I know is it is damn good and not bought from the store. Open to ideas for what to use in place of rotel, but I know that my circle of family and friends consistently ask me to make it for them when they have people over, so that is good enough for me, and I'm not going to fuck with it. I'm not claiming this is some kind of all natural, competition winning salsa, but I love it. The batch I made last night made 5-6 cups that have now been totally consumed by 11 people (including 3 children that didn't have any, and my son who loves spicy food), so yeah, fuck yeah, I used a can of rotel.
  17. Not an exact recipe. 4 or 5 peeled tomatoes, 1/2 an onion, 3/4 or a full bunch of cilantro, juice of 1 to 2 limes, 3 japs, 1 Serrano sometimes, a can of hot rotel, and liberal garlic salt
  18. Don’t see a Independence Day Bitches! thread yet, and I’ve only done the salsa so far so it can heat up overnight but my part of the Festivities for a small group of 9 is salsa, jap poppers, and chicken legs, so doesn’t really warrant a thread, but this salsa kicks all sorts of ass, especially with home grown maters. Starting on peeling the tomatoes Other players, but the key is the balance Pre-blend Deliciousness and will heat up overnight
  19. I was making a joke, that Rolex wouldn't rip off the Speedmaster. Anyway, lets move on folks
  20. Doing some work at a tech company in DFW. The guy was Argentinian, so its pretty obvious that Rolex sells a model in Argentina that rips off the Speedmaster. Only plausible explanation
  21. A few weeks ago I was wearing my Speedmaster, and a guy said he loved my watch, that he was really into watches, and then asked me what model of Rolex it was. For a second, I wanted to fuck with him and say a Hulk or something, but I don't think he would have gotten the joke anyway
  22. Went ahead and did it, and while a very small sample size of one round, I'm damn happy. The front nine, I did have 3 three putts, but hit 8 of 9 greens, then the putter came alive on the back. 14 putts, with two of those being from off the green, for a 78. First time in the 70's this season for me, so I'm very happy.
  23. Haven't been in the market since we built our house 5 years ago, but I went with a DCS similar to this https://www.bbqguys.com/dcs/professional-36-inch-built-in-natural-gas-grill-with-rotisserie-bh1-36r-n and I've been very happy with it. Gets hot as shit and can put a really nice sear on whatever I'm grilling
