  1. Up and in. Next the lights but no rush for them. Finally get to use the bedding my wife purchased two years ago.
  2. Ok, this may belong in an electrical thread, but it is simple enough I think, I thought I would start here. What I want to do with this headboard now that it is sealed, is to add some lantern style lights to either side that are on a switch installed in the headboard. I will first have to convert the hard wired lights to plug in lights, but that is simple enough to just splice them with an extension cord. I also want to put a light switch in between the plug and the lights, which I will install on the side of the headboard. Switches typically have a neutral wire though, and extension cords only have hot and ground. Do I just leave the neutral unconnected?

On Saturday I put down the deposit to start a build similar to this with excessive carts in Prosper Mine will have slightly different seats, black wheels, black struts for the roof, a fishing pole holder on the back, no expanded metal on the grill guard and a 20” light bar in front, but otherwise pretty much this. 5-6 weeks out, but I’m pumped. I’ll mostly cruise the neighborhood, but will take it to the FILs lake house when we go up every few months as well.
  4. Posted about this project a bit in the wife thread because of the 14 different stain samples I had to do, but just finished staining a headboard for my almost 7 year old. Next step is to put on poly tomorrow night, but a mattress and cut the legs to the appropriate height. I also want to add some old camp lanterns that are wired for AC on a switch that will hang from either side, but that will come later. My son helped me, and it was a really fun project. I’m not great, but the fact it was supposed to be somewhat rustic gave me the wiggle room I needed to tackle it.
  5. So my son is almost 7 and we are about to get him a queen size bed so that we can use the bedding that my wife bought 3 years ago because “it was just perfect”. I took the opportunity to have him help me build a headboard for it. We are going with a rustic pallet board style, but with nicer Pine. Everything is cut, sanded, ready to stain and assemble, but guess who can’t decide what color stain to use. I have already stained 10 different samples using 5 different stains letting them sit for various times, and guess who is going back to Home Depot for another stain at lunch? I know it is on me, but I wish I would have just done it without asking her opinion. Nothing brings out the crazy in a woman like a project for the house.
  6. Sorry for the late reply, but around 250 for 2 1/2 hours or so. Don't remember specifically, just cook to temp
  7. You are a great cook, but for me, taste is the most important thing. The actual recipe calls for a can of peeled tomatoes, I just happened to have some in my garden that I subbed in. I've never tried it without the rotel, all I know is it is damn good and not bought from the store. Open to ideas for what to use in place of rotel, but I know that my circle of family and friends consistently ask me to make it for them when they have people over, so that is good enough for me, and I'm not going to fuck with it. I'm not claiming this is some kind of all natural, competition winning salsa, but I love it. The batch I made last night made 5-6 cups that have now been totally consumed by 11 people (including 3 children that didn't have any, and my son who loves spicy food), so yeah, fuck yeah, I used a can of rotel.
  8. Not an exact recipe. 4 or 5 peeled tomatoes, 1/2 an onion, 3/4 or a full bunch of cilantro, juice of 1 to 2 limes, 3 japs, 1 Serrano sometimes, a can of hot rotel, and liberal garlic salt
  9. And done. Delicious
  10. Headed to the smoker
  11. Don’t see a Independence Day Bitches! thread yet, and I’ve only done the salsa so far so it can heat up overnight but my part of the Festivities for a small group of 9 is salsa, jap poppers, and chicken legs, so doesn’t really warrant a thread, but this salsa kicks all sorts of ass, especially with home grown maters. Starting on peeling the tomatoes Other players, but the key is the balance Pre-blend Deliciousness and will heat up overnight
  12. I was making a joke, that Rolex wouldn't rip off the Speedmaster. Anyway, lets move on folks
  13. Doing some work at a tech company in DFW. The guy was Argentinian, so its pretty obvious that Rolex sells a model in Argentina that rips off the Speedmaster. Only plausible explanation
  14. A few weeks ago I was wearing my Speedmaster, and a guy said he loved my watch, that he was really into watches, and then asked me what model of Rolex it was. For a second, I wanted to fuck with him and say a Hulk or something, but I don't think he would have gotten the joke anyway
  15. Went ahead and did it, and while a very small sample size of one round, I'm damn happy. The front nine, I did have 3 three putts, but hit 8 of 9 greens, then the putter came alive on the back. 14 putts, with two of those being from off the green, for a 78. First time in the 70's this season for me, so I'm very happy.
  16. Haven't been in the market since we built our house 5 years ago, but I went with a DCS similar to this https://www.bbqguys.com/dcs/professional-36-inch-built-in-natural-gas-grill-with-rotisserie-bh1-36r-n and I've been very happy with it. Gets hot as shit and can put a really nice sear on whatever I'm grilling
  17. Bama - Go with the Bevo model, that is pretty bad ass, and is now on my list. I've got a 34" Scotty that the grip is worn out on. I'm going to put one of those Golf Pride Snsr pistol grips on it, but also thought I would take this opportunity to cut it down an inch, since I typically grip it at the very bottom of the current grip. Will doing that fuck with the weighting of the putter too much? I've looked around on golf boards, and comments seem mixed. Some say, no problem at all, some say send it off the Custom shop to get it done. Screw that. This putter is probably 5+ years old, and not sentimental to me. I trust you guys more than the guys on some of those golf boards, so has anyone done this? Any thoughts on doing this? I'm thinking I just do it, and then if it feels off, buy some off brand 20 gram weights online, since I think that is what comes stock in the 33" putters.
  18. The guy in the booth saw it, and then slowly gave the guy in the car his ticket! How the fuck is that possible to have no reaction
  19. Love me some restaurant nachos, but some of my favorites are ones I make myself. Fajita bacon and Nicks Boudin naoch from the old site Bacon wrapped Dove naoch from old site And tonight a simple chicken fajita naoch

Went to Tender Smokehouse in Celina last Wednesday. Ribs had an odd sweet taste to them I didn’t care for, but the brisket and sausage were pretty fucking great. Great outdoor patio for the kids too. This may become my regular place for times I don’t want to drive too far for good brisket.
  21. Yesterday, as I'm putting on my shoes, 2 minutes from leaving, I got "hey, can you blow up that new gigantic flamingo pool float we got for 'lil JSB before you leave? She is having her dance class come over to swim today". We spent like 2 hours the night before watching Santa Clarita Diet together, but it didn't happen to occur to her then. She has also perfected the art of beginning to speak to me just as I'm far enough away to still hear that she is saying something, but not close enough to make out what it is. Drives me insane
  22. That is all kinds of bad ass
  23. "Fine Grandma, if you refuse to believe the logical answer that you misplaced a few things, and insist the nurses are stealing from you, we can move you, but I'm only making one trip, everything else is getting thrown out"

Actual Father's day, my kids will be spending the week with my parents, so probably play golf, watch the US Open, cook some steaks or something for me and the wife, and probably some sex in there somewhere, we will see how it all pans out. Kids will do their 'make dad breakfast and give him something we made him' thing the weekend before or after
  25. I loved the cop going directly from, "bitch, you're just a pussy" to "now mam, what's your last name?"
