  1. I'm an Olympic junkie but even I am struggling to spend much time on it. The delays make it hard to avoid knowing the results for any "popular" event. The whole, "I'm from country A, but I'm competing for country B" is a bit of a beating for me also. I'll watch some for sure but I'm not as into it as normal.
  2. Where did you move from? Were you an Eagle Scout and lived to camp, etc.? Did you move straight to this setup, or just something rustic and you moved gradually "off the grid"? Is your work truck your office or do you actually commute to an office or field site on the regular? Have there ever been kids involved in this living arrangement? I think this looks awesome but I couldn't do it. Loving the thread!!
  3. MIL (70+) tested positive last Wednesday night. She couldn't keep anything down (similar to what you described) while resting at home. By Friday afternoon she got up to try to go to the bathroom and proceeded to fall / pass out three times over the span of about 4 or 5 hours. My FIL (also 70+) ended up calling 911 who sent an ambulance to take her to the hospital. She was severely dehydrated and they kept her overnight to re-hydrate. She went home Saturday night and is feeling much better now. She is vaxxed but not boosted, while FIL is vaxxed and boosted. He hasn't shown symptoms or tested positive. Make sure you and your girls are staying hydrated.
  4. The idea is spot in but fucking pit vipers beat you to it… https://www.pitviper.com/collections/ball-istic?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=google_search_brand_ball_istic-15217854951&utm_content=129038636625&utm_term=kwd-1462194992545&gclid=CjwKCAiA55mPBhBOEiwANmzoQsAxR7meIJhNYaPfj9H8NIqzT6yOd7gqFetiJhWZrSQbF_jdpUlQARoCc3oQAvD_BwE 081AD601-C009-4854-A63C-3B3818F09366.webp
  5. Dawgs roll, I'm watching Tight contest, I'm watching Tide gets up by 10, I'm out My son and i went to the GA/BAMA title game a few years back. Had GA fans on my left and BAMA fans on my right. I really felt bad for the Bulldog fans that night, especially considering the overlap in their fanbase and the Falcons fanbase who watched their team piss away a Super Bowl 11 months before. Go Dawgs... but remember who your daddy is
  6. I've spent a couple of weeks per year in Astana (Nur-Sultan) for the last 6 years (not including COVID era). Agree with the assessment above that Nazarbayev did an admirable job of balancing between authoritarian dictator and beloved paternalistic Head of State. Transitions of power in that area can be complicated at best. Lots of funds have been invested in new infrastructure in transforming Astana into the capital that have benefited people in that area but I'll bet there has been some brewing resentment from the folks in Almaty for a while. Hopefully things resolve somewhat peacefully and not just as a result of "peacekeeping" neighbors who will continue to squeeze on the bruise at it suits their own needs.
  7. Sources from the Harbaugh household tell me that this story has been planted to recoup any salary reductions that may have taken place plus a 40% kicker for the inconvenience.
  8. Got back from DL last night. First time at Disney California. Overall great experience. Radiator Springs, Pixar Pier and Marvel Campus are all great. Really like how close everything is and how easy it is to move from park to park to downtown Disney to hotel, etc. Paid for Genie+ each day upon entering park. The Lightning Lane access through Genie+ worked well. There were a few rides that had Lightning Lane access that really didn't seem to need it (stand by times were never more than 15 minutes) and then they did not have it on some rides that always had 45+ minute standby lines. Not sure I understand exactly how they decide what rides will have LL as an option. Not a big deal for our trip, just an observation. The Incredicoaster is an awesome ride but it was experiencing technical difficulties quite a bit. Thankfully we got to ride it using Genie+, but when we tried to ride again later it was out of service during our window which was unfortunate but they converted our LL pass to a "multiple attractions" pass which allowed us to have LL access to any ride (except for Radiator Springs Racers, Webslingers & Midway Mania) even ones that don't normally have a LL option. We ended up riding 3 or 4 rides using this golden ticket and for the non-LL option rides they would just walk us through the ride exit and put us on immediately. Pretty sweet. We paid for the LL individual ride option for Rise of the Resistance, Web Slingers (neat, but not something I would pay for again) and Radiator Springs Racers (awesome). It was "worth it" from a standpoint of how long we would have otherwise had to stand in line (2.5-3 hours for each ride) but it is a bit ridiculous that: 1. you have to pay per ride if you want to avoid spending upward of 2 hours standing in line 2. there aren't any options for Genie+ LL all day from what I could tell (it seems like they should have some (30-50) per hour set aside for the Genie+ folks). I know it's a money grab, and if people didn't buy them it would change but people, me included, are buying so it will only get worse. If anyone has any questions about specifics let me know. Had a blast and got to ride everything we wanted to thanks for the tips and guidance in advance.
  9. Had a mild case of Covid in October 2020 Pfizer/Pfizer back in Feb/March Texas CARES in early Sept S>2500 N=55 Texas CARES in early December S=1900 N=30 Boosted Moderna this morning
  10. Pete Carroll is an interesting study also: 10 years as a college assistant 10 years NFL assistant 4 mediocre years NFL head coach 9 years as very successful college head coach (including best team EVAAAAHHHH) ha ha going on 12 years as a successful Super Bowl winning (should have been 2) NFL head coach. Seems like generally a pretty nice guy.
  11. Off topic but has your fame is expanding to other arenas. If already included somewhere else please forgive me.
  12. I'd think a couple of bites at the apple is all most would get. I guess if he decided that after OSU and UT (or something similar) he was going to transfer to SMU, Vandy, Rice or SHSU he might find a new round of people to pay up but I don't think it would be OU, A&M or LSU after two strikes.
  13. Honestly I assumed JT Daniels was hurt or something early in the year. Is the official Georgia stance that the frat boy beat him out?
  14. I think the people who think this $$ is going to ruin the program must not have much of a eye for the current state of affairs. Surely it can't get worse..
  15. That’s great. Really cool experience. Happy for the Michigan fans!! This will be one of those games that 10 years from now, 300,000 Michigan fans will say they were in attendance. 🤣
  16. @immamac probably covered somewhere else in the thread, but what is the connection to Big Blue? That had to be a blast!! Went to the 2018 version at The Shoe and the OSU faithful we’re happy as could be to ruin Michigan’s season. Glad to see Michigan return the favor this year. Hope they make the CFP.
  17. Thank you both. Helpful info. I know it will be a crowded time at Disney but work and school schedules really make that our only option.
  18. We are heading to Disneyland for our first time over New Years. Plan to be in the parks 12/31 - 1/2. Staying at the Disney Paradise Pier hotel. We have never been to Disney in California. Can I go ahead and add the Genie+ and Lightning Pass stuff now or is that done day of or week of trip? I saw a mention of touring plans by @mdmost and @SimonBolivar but I'm not familiar with that. I do see the dining options seem to be very limited. The reservations are just opening for the days we will be there and most places either have nothing available or only have lunch at 10 AM or 2:30 PM or dinner reservations at 4PM or 8:30PM. Is it at all doable to have dinner in the Downtown Disney area and then go back to a park. I have the impression that everything is smaller and closer together there but I still don't have a good feel for what kind of time to allow for a meal outside of the park we are in at the time, or if it's just preferable to find a quick meal wherever we happen to be when we're hungry. Any guidance related to Disneyland for a newbie will be appreciated.
  19. I will say add while the ongoing progressive competition type of shows (bachelor, survivor, hell's kitchen, Idol) can be highly engaging I also tend to either completely consume a season or ignore completely. The House Hunters, Survivorman, Undercover Boss 🤣 or even family behind the scenes shows I'm more apt to check in on periodically even if I haven't been watching the whole season.
  20. I'm a terrible person but one of my favorite ever teams on Amazing race were the sisters, one of whom happened to be a midget...
  21. some of the ones on train wreck families are good in an "I can't look away" sense... someone needs to do a series on this chick and her family. Midwestern mom who has spent 500k to look like Barbie Although, it's probably not your target demo but something that families can watch together would likely be a hit also. I think one of the reasons Duck Dynasty was such a hit early on was that everyone from grandmas to 6 year olds could watch and get a laugh or two out of it.
