  1. I don't understand the statement, "this is the card that the Pirates are offering a package including 30 years of season tickets behind home plate for." Seems like the easier path would have been for someone with the Pirates to tell Skenes "we would really like to keep that jersey / patch, etc. and we will make sure you (or your designee) get whatever you are offered for it on the market." What am I missing?
  2. Perhaps you are here, we can accurately predict / project people's intent, emotions and easily point out poor decision making (no actual evidence required) with at least 1% accuracy rate .
  3. Congratulations!! A buddy's daughter got a full ride to UT-Knoxville on a similar deal (Haslam Scholars) included tuition / fees / books / living stipend and even covers the cost of study abroad and some guaranteed internships. My buddy bought himself a new boat with his new found surplus.
  4. Is Baylor hard to get into? Serious question. I don't understand, is his class less than 50 people?
  5. green is synthetic. video (starting about 6:05 ) about green technology... short video showing a cross section of the green
  6. Is there another Texas that matters?
  7. Love Colt, but how is he not in your “almost” category?
  8. Absolutely, that’s Arch’s reason for being here just like it was Quinn’s and Colt’s and uncle Peyton’s at Tennessee, etc. I’m just saying if that (ultimate satisfaction) is the only measure of success the odds are against it. The ultimate satisfaction ( national championship) should always be the standard at Texas, but that doesn’t mean everyone who falls short of that is a bust or failure. That should apply to Arch as well.
  9. Quinn and my son played travel baseball together back in middle school. I had no idea who he was but started hearing stories from other parents on the team. Scholarship offers starting in 6th grade, etc. (Major eyeroll from me at the time) He was a nice, respectful kid and a good teammate. Fast forward to all the stuff we are well familiar with: 1. Committing and de-committing to Texas. 2. Skipping Senior year and taking the bag from the Buckeyes 3. Portal from OSU to TX (another bag) 4. 3 year starter (highs and a few lows) 5. Injuries 6. Arch over his shoulder I heard someone on the radio say recently “ he has to compete with a concept of the perfect QB as his backup“ and I think that “concept” certainly clouds the lens many use to look at Quinn. I hope Arch is great, but short of a Heisman and National Championship I don’t think he can live up to expectations. But hopefully he can get us consistently to conference championship games and at least National Semifinals or he’ll be a real bust. Thank you to Quinn for all you have done to put Texas deservingly back in the national conversation and being a representative of our University of whom we all can (should) be proud. Good luck in whatever your next step is. Hopefully history will treat your tenure here more kindly than some of us have. Hook ‘em high like an eagle soars.
  10. I was there with some buddies. Other than some drunk frat daddys, overall it was a fun day. They were so confident pregame and so mad / sad afterwards. Awesome memory.
  11. I want to party with Billy Bob
  12. SECSECSEC chant in Tuscaloosa at the end of last year's game was glorious.
  13. I have a buddy who is in Lisbon this week and will need something like this to watch it. Will you post the link at the top like last game?
  14. It was watchable. Seems a bit videogamish, but I do like hearing the banter between the players. Is this funded by the PGA in any way? Agreed that it may appeal to some younger fans, or attract some non-golf watchers. It is a bit ironic to me that so many guys trashed LIV over the team concept and lack of competitiveness yet all they mentioned last night was how much they wanted to perform for their team, etc. I get that the bigger issue most of them had was the sports washing component, but they let their criticism extend to things that I think most people look favorably upon (team golf).
  15. This is my list, all have either a large group of wealthy alums or a few superwhales. Question will be how long "they" are willing to fund things if their definition of "success" is not attained. Vandy SMU TCU Duke (do they care?) Stanford (do they care?) Like anywhere, they will still need to have the right combo of coaching and development, but NIL can put these teams in a position to get a steady stream of players to which they would not "traditionally" have had access.
  16. I have that Chuy's shirt, I am infinitely more handsome than that dude though.
  17. Anybody have any interest in the TGL? I'm sure I'll watch at least once but I'm unsure if it will be compelling or just feel like I'm watching someone play a video game.
  18. Pimpin' ain't easy. Probably hurt himself filing a shiv.
  19. sure, but there's no guarantee that you get this close again. There's nobody left who has been so dominant that they are unbeatable. tOSU has had a couple good great games but they are a mere 2 games removed from losing to Michigan at home in a rivalry / revenge / save the coach's honor game.
  20. so just to make sure I understand... the guy who is their superman initially enrolled at Sacramento State after visits to Cal Poly and William & Mary?
  21. We sat in 125 or 126 for Big 12 Championship last year and they were ok. I would think 1 level up would be decent and may even have a little better vantage point for action at the other end of the field. You will end up watching the TV alot though, but that really applies anywhere in the stadium.
  22. You're gonna need to post the Cooper's pecan cobbler recipe. Thanks in advance.
