  1. 60% 80% 100% of those girls can no longer gain acceptance to the 40 acres so the daily talent parade will unfortunately be lost for the foreseeable future. I, for one, do not think this makes us a better university on the balance. and 2,3,1,4,5
  2. Back in the day, MNF was the highlight of the football week. It's certainly lost some magic but we'll always have Cosell and Dandy Don.
  3. You lost me right here. ha ha It's like you've never been here before
  4. That's great. Is she a January 2021 entry or an auto admit for Fall 2021? I didn't think they were "accepting" Fall 2021 yet. Either way congrats!!
  5. Crazy if they really only have 30ish players. Back in day we'd have at least 45-50 on Varsity and an equal amount on JV.
  6. Grew up in Brownwood. I saw that the HC has been on quarantine the last couple of weeks after the local radio guy (Dallas Huston) tested Covid positive a day after having interviewed Coach Burnett. I think HC has continued to test negative but wanted to stay away from the team for the full 14 days. The interim has been the DC, they have failed to reach 200 yards of offense in either of the last two games. HC and DC were friends of mine in HS. The QB is a sophomore and is the son of the DC who has been the interim the last 2 weeks. Seems like a mess. I feel bad for them. The district was expected to be tough this year but Alvarado and Stephenville and obviously Brownwood seem to be down a little. Burnet (non-district) is next.
  7. Had lunch with a friend yesterday who told me that his daughter who is a college Freshman (not UT) tested positive last Friday. She and her roommate and suitemates have been hanging out with 4 or 5 others for the last few weeks. Mid-week last week (Sept 1st or 2nd) one of the guys started having symptoms and tested positive. The rest of the group got tested (no symptoms) and all but one tested positive. Now they have all been moved to the "isolation" apartments on campus where they continue to hang out, do virtual class and have meals delivered to them multiple times per day. The original guy who tested positive is still the only one with any symptoms. None of the others would have been tested had the first one not had symptoms and tested positive. Strangely the positive cases are isolated for 10 days or 3 days after symptoms cease (whichever is longer) but the negative case is isolated for 14 days.
  8. I'm planning on testing out Sling for their 3 day free trial. Having said that, I am unclear on whether it will include LHN in the basic orange package or if I need to add the "sports extra" package. Any sling users in Texas that can verify if I need the "sports extra" package or not?
  9. The Chilito says hi I have also been a decades long fan of the Mexican Pizza from the Bell. Will definitely go get one before they disappear. [csb] in college (30ish years ago) one night at half time of a game at the Erwin Center my buddy hit a half court shot and the prize was a $100 taco bell gift certificate. After the game 4 of us went to Taco Bell. When we found out that the gift certificate was a "use it all at once" type deal we were undaunted. This was in the time of the 49 cent tacos, 59 cent bean burritos and 89 cent chilitos. We finished it all but I didn't shit right for a month. My normal Taco Bell intake probably cut in half immediately after that night and I bet I've gone less than 1x per year for the last 25 years. [/csb]
  10. 15% price cut on current bike in advance of new version roll out. https://www.cnn.com/2020/09/08/tech/peloton-new-products/index.html Beginning Wednesday, its core bike will cost $1,895 — a $350 reduction — with the monthly financing rate dropping $9 to $49 a month. With a slightly more attractive price point, Peloton (PTON) wants to maintain its blockbuster year and enlist new members even as gyms across the United States reopen. Peloton is also moving upscale with a new model, called the Bike+. For $2,495, the new bike has a larger screen to stream its classes, enhanced speakers and a new feature that automatically changes the resistance depending on the teacher's instructors. The screen can also be titled so customers can do complete workouts on the floor for its new total workout classes. A new, full-body workout class that includes the bike and weights launches September 15. Existing members can trade in their working bikes for a $700 credit to use on the Bike+.
  11. Had a fletcher's and fried okra for lunch today. Pretty nice Friday if you ask me. The mustard packet was definitely Heinz. A beer in a wax cup and a snaggletooth meth head to make fun of would have taken things to 11.
  12. I think some teams are trying to relocate to bigger stadiums to accommodate more fans. My son's team (private school, but about 3A size) is playing a 4-A team in a 6-A stadium in a couple of weeks and then the week after that playing a smaller private school at "The Star" in Frisco (Cowboys training facility)
  13. I'm a little confused but the long and short of it is looks like Sweetwater has no game this week or next. bummer If I'm interpreting correctly Jim Ned canceled earlier in the week, the found an alternate opponent (Brownsboro) and then that game was canceled today.
  14. Is any part of the therapy process either curated or hand-crafted? I really have come to expect at least one of those in every experience. It's my new normal.
  15. Development for those helmet fans is rumored to have started immediately after their trip to the visiting the locker room in Austin last year.
  16. I thought he was thoroughly unlikable in QB1. Seemed like a bad teammate and a generally self absorbed asshat.
  17. You have been inspiration with this thing from the jump. I remember when you were just going to pull a trailer behind your F-150 thinking this would be awesome and it ended up being so much more incredible than I ever hoped. Hate that it ended like it did but as others have said maybe the replacement RV will be easier to find than you think. I'll bet you a dollar you are on the internet at night looking up RV's for sale within a week of that first night in your bed at home. Seriously thanks for letting us share this journey with you. Best of luck to you and your brood.
  18. Very sad story. As a side note, why in the heck would they take a kid all the way from Guthrie to Houston? Surely somewhere in DFW or even OKC could have serviced him more quickly with equal technology (at least in DFW). Doesn't really matter I guess but that's a strange detail.
  19. Unpopular opinions thread is over there...
  20. I'm mildly confused by this story but I'm so glad you shared and that the adventure now includes law enforcement and threats of retaliation in anticipation of possible self-induced vandalism by a fleabag motel owner. Good lord, I am so jealous.
  21. Ok, I get that Illinois and Minny have athletic dept debt but I'm shocked the Michigan and tOSU have so much debt related to their athletic departments. Is this some Steve Patterson level (we can't afford the training table for our athletes) BS or do they really not make their donors pony up for new facilities? Also, OU being seen as anything other than hayseed, inbred dirt burglars tells you that you are probably looking at the information you're analyzing incorrectly.
  22. Does anyone have a good recipe that approximates his cheesy squash casserole?
