Surly kids who can't get into UT
I was in Moore Hill (3rd floor in the back section) Fall 1989-Spring 1990. Rumor had it that the room across the hall from me had been Tom Landry's back in the day. What about you gentlemen? As for decor, I had a poster of a scene similar to this and this, but a red one

Regarding format, I can see the merit to having some benefit for season-long performance but it also seems like how people are playing during the "playoffs" should matter, especially the lower you are in the season-long rankings. I think something like this, top 15 in final FedEx points standings are safe regardless of finish in the "semi-final" BMW Championship and go through to the Final. 16+ in the final points standings need to have finished in the top 30 during the BMW to advance to the final. At some point the playoff needs to be about how you're doing right now, not just how much you were favored coming into the contest. I know the Championship has moved to low gross wins it, but I wish they would take a step toward that in the semi-final.- 2025 GOLF: I don't think the heavy stuff's gonna come down for quite a while

Ok thanks. I wish they would do away with the points once the playoff begins. Just let the top 50 and 30 advance from week to week. It's a little like saying that the lower seed in the NFL playoffs has to cover the spread to advance, or the lower seed in the baseball playoffs has to can't lose more than one game in a series to advance. At some points you let the teams / players who advance to the playoffs play the game / tournament and then let the results of that competition decide who wins the trophy / pile of money.- PGA Tour 2025
Just so I'm clear, the top 70 based on cumulative points get in "playoff" Then, top 50 finishers in 1st event (cumulative points NO LONGER MATTER) move to BMW then, top 30 finishers at BMW (cumulative points NO LONGER MATTER) move to Tour Championship then, low gross score (no starting strokes "headstart") at Tour Championship wins it along with the big pile of money for being the "FedEx Cup champion". Is that correct?- Surly lawyer help…

A few years back, my son (around 21 at the time) and some buddies road tripped to Zion National Park by way of Balmorhea State Park and the Grand Canyon over like 4 or 5 day period. I think they had a place to sleep for maybe 2 nights total. Driving, swimming, hiking essentially non-stop. I was nervous, but all was fine and he looks at it as a great memory and cool experience with friends. I'd have loved it when I was his age, but sounds miserable to my 50+ year old self. What kind of vehicle are they in? 6 adults and 2 dogs may get a little tight. I'm sure your son will have a blast.- PGA Tour 2025

Ole Miss is a major player in that arena also.. I think they are attempting to address it with the rule about injuries once a ball is spotted for play that "injuries" after that are a charged timeout against the defense. It will be curious to see how they enforce that and how many "injuries" start to occur just before the ball is spotted.- Ideas for Long Weekend Trip

Just buy anything what will fit (25x20x1) and stick it in there for a day or two while the correct one arrives. It won't catch everything but will be better than nothing or leaving the old dirty one in place.- Floods - how you can help
I'm not sure that people are "surprised" that it floods, I think it is just a "surprise" when "the big one / 100 year flood / etc." actually happens. We all have become accustomed to the tornado warning / flash flood warning and then nothing of significance happens, or at least it doesn't impact our little universe. Unfortunately, every once in a while the "worst case" happens. We all know it is possible, but we get lulled to complacency and then hit in the face with a shovel when it happens. The reaction probably looks alot like surprise. Often times something like this will lead to an "overreaction" (some would say appropriate response) to the next threat ... Think the Houston evacuation clusterfuck for Hurricane Rita after Katrina destroyed New Orleans. Then when "the worst" doesn't happen we go back to the ignore / assume things will be ok part of the cycle until Hurricane Harvey hits at which point the vigilance returns. Wash, rinse, repeat. Hopefully at least some progress will be made in each cycle to make the next "worst case" event less deadly / traumatic. As an aside, I'll bet the Taco Bell in Belton could tell some stories.- Johnny (football?) Manziel
