  1. We did joke about this. Said he should name his prize bull Jim Bob and line up at the pay window.
  2. Does the lawyer need to be in Bexar? Executor is in Dallas.
  3. She has had power of attorney for the last few years of his life because of his cognitive issues.
  4. A friend at work is the executor of his uncle's estate. 1. The deceased (in his 80s) was one of four siblings and never married, nor had any offspring that anyone in the family is aware of. 2. The will left 1/3 of assets to each of his two brothers (both now deceased), 1/6 to his sister and 1/6 to his "good friend" Jim Bob McGillicutty. 3. Stated that if any of the siblings predeceased him that their share was to go to Jim Bob. 4. No one knows exactly who Jim Bob actually is. The sister (now in her 80s) who was getting the 1/6 share became his power of attorney 4 or 5 years ago when he was moved into a facility due to cognitive issues. My friend suspects that the sister has been commingling funds, taking funds and other assets and providing them to her adult children, etc. over the years. She has long been aware of the 1/6 share to her and remainder to friend Jim Bob situation since her other brothers had already died. My friend is wondering what his duty as executor entails. Is it just to take things as they existed at the time of his death and distribute them according to the will or does he have an obligation to investigate what he suspects happened and try to recover the assets that were "taken" back into the estate so that Jim Bob gets as much as possible. My friend doesn't stand to gain anything from this either way, he just wants to make sure he does what is required under his fiduciary duty. Lastly, what does he do to find Jim Bob? All it says in the will is the guy's name and what city he was from. The will was executed in 2015. It is not a large estate, probably 100k-250k range. The deceased was living in a facility in Bexar County if it matters. Any guidance would be helpful at this point.
  5. Coaching and team situation can make a huge difference also. Would Vince have thrived if he ended up playing for Andy Reid straight out of school vs. Fisher? Would Mahomes have thrived for Jason Garrett? Dak (I know, I know) may have played out his rookie deal and be coaching somewhere by now if it weren't for an injury (actually two), despite his accomplishments in the vaunted SEC.
  6. McRaven or Bezos?
  7. Story time... First kids were born in 2000 and 2002, both were poor sleepers early on. Fast forward 11 years and our bonus baby was born in 2013 when we were in our 40s. A friend told us about the Fisher Price Rock 'n Play Sleeper (caveman version of the device above, that ultimately was recalled over safety concerns). The bonus baby slept great from the jump. Only problem was, because he was in the exact same position all night, every night he ended up with a flat back of his dome. Not a problem a little cranial helmet for a few weeks couldn't overcome. That boy now has the most perfectly shaped head in North Texas. Would I do the exact same thing again so my old ass could get some much-needed sleep to deal with teenagers and infants at the same time...
  8. Wow. I don’t follow Arky basketball at all.
  9. Umm, I think we’re going to need some more info with that one
  10. NSA listening device. Destroy it immediately.
  11. That @Beau Vine is a slow learner apparently.
  12. Vouch for this also. Wasn't an overnight transformation but 2 or 3 treatments and the difference was real.
  13. Brisket may be a bit wordy at times, but he is well meaning. I think calling him a "loon" is a bit harsh.
  14. I've used Hooper Plumbing for the last decade or so and have been happy. They get people out quickly and stuff is fixed when they leave. https://www.hooperplumbing.com/ Honestly, I'm not sure how they are for prices because I haven't compared them to anyone else in years.
  15. I’m with both of you. Rangers win was a lifetime sports highlight for me, but the last thing I want is my furnace / AC system to be made to operate like the Astros in that series. Completely ineffective at home. Just a weird ad for a Dallas company IMO.
  16. "It's time to tune up your furnace like our Texas Rangers tuned up those Houston Astros on the way to the World Series..." -Bakers Brothers Plumbing / AC What in the actual fuck does that even mean?
  17. It looks like you made it upside down, try harder.
  18. Thank you for the explanation. My wife was a SPED teacher back in the day and certainly has some stories to tell on that front. As to your original question and the general topic of the thread...buy low / sell high!!
  19. I haz confused. Wolf is re-retiring?
  20. Honestly I’m a bit surprised that he districts that have screwed it up that badly have the resources to pay for it to be done correctly. Are they getting grants or some kind of rescue funds from the gummint? sounds like a good program and a great gig for you either way.
  21. @Larry T. Spider Interesting. Do you sell the concept, train the locals to implement and walk away or do you staff it for them also (i.e. the "staff" works for your company)?
