  1. I came down with something this week. Either a mild cold or some lesser strain of COVID. Severe sinus pressure starting Monday night. Congestion and sinus drainage Tuesday, still present but milder yesterday. Just some residual phlegm left to expel today and feel almost back to normal. Was still able to work out each day as I never really felt "sick," though I didn't feel like I was at 100% so I went less than full effort. No headache, body aches, or fever at any point. Mild fatigue at worst.
  2. King for closer?!?!?!?! 4 batters faced, 4 outs.
  3. Someone please photoshop me a "Ohh you almost had it" meme. Put an Astros hat on the fisherman and a silver boot/playoff spot on the end of his line. TIA.
  4. King got away with a meatball to Moore. All's well that ends well though.
  5. Countdown update: 45 days out from Opening Day!
  6. Haynesville is still pretty busy ATM, but I'd imagine it would pick up a little bit more. Also Utica and the gassier areas of the EF maybe.
  7. Although EIA has been bearish on oil, they're quite bullish on natty in the short-term: Latest average price per MMBtu forecasts: Q3 '25: $3.04 Q4 '25: $3.72 Q1 '26: $4.25 Q2 '26: $3.64 Q3 '26: $4.26 Q4 '26: $4.99
  8. If you feel like the seasons have shifted, you might be on to something.
  9. I was hoping for 4-2 on this homestand and then "not play like bitches" on our final road trip vs. the bottom of our division.
  10. With 2 outs in the 8th, nobody on, 6-1 lead, Eynel and Abreu did the following before getting the final out: BB HR 6-3 1B 2B 6-4 Pitching Change BB 1B 6-5
  11. Oh thank god
  12. A classic Redford story, by his buddy, Mike Nichols, talking about how he couldn't consider casting him in The Graduate:
  13. Damn, just looked at Amarillo forecast and I'm jealous. Highs in mid 80's, lows in high 50's coming up Sat-Tue
  14. Yeah, this is what I was getting at. I've developed major envy for parts of the country that have distinct, defined seasons. I'm not even just talking about up north or in the mountain states. It starts getting pretty nice this time of year in places like Atlanta, Charlotte, Nashville.....etc. Pretty much anywhere north of Dallas.
  15. Probably a smarter business model for the neighborhood than just being a traditional lunchtime BBQ spot.
  16. I'm a lot more tolerant of Summer when it's July and August. Less so in the middle of September.
  17. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle dominated the box office this weekend. $70M in US and Canada, over $400M international so far. I'll wait a few months until its available to stream, but that's pretty cool to see.
  18. Had to step outside for a second before going to bed last night. 81 degrees with a feels like of 87 at 11 pm. This shit getting tedious. Hope everyone enjoyed that nice 60-hour stretch from last Sunday morning until Tuesday night. Looks like it'll be a while 'til we get another dose.
  19. Altuve absolutely pissed on that one. Team has some fire under their ass tonight.
  20. Don't think this has been posted yet.. Cole's former teammates at Corpus watching his first AB. How can you not love baseball?
  21. Most fun I've had watching a game in a while, but this is the shit that frustrates me the last 2 months. We'll do this tonight, but either get 2 singles and 0 runs tomorrow, or lose 3-2 after getting 10 hits and taking 4 walks but going 2-13 with RISP.
  22. CPI comes in a little warm while jobless claims tick up. Dual mandate pressures weighing on the Fed.
  23. BBQ joint coming to the old Petrol Station? "Heights BBQ" is a pop-up run by the guy who used to be the pitmaster at Pipers BBQ on Shepherd. In the comments on a Facebook post about this, the guy confirmed that it will not be called "Heights BBQ" and is not affiliated with the Pipers/Preslee's group.
  24. A big ridge of high pressure will soon settle in over Texas. Every day from tomorrow through next Sunday will basically be a repeat of the day before. Low to mid 90's, near-zero chance of rain.
  25. Probably ate 100+ meals at the PIccadilly inside Parkdale Mall in Beaumont growing up. There's still one in Denham Springs not far from my in-laws house. One of these days the wife and I will have to stop in during a visit. I'm sure the nostalgia will be better than the actual food.
