  1. WTI with a nice little $2 bump today. Creeping up close to $65, which would be a 2-week high. Bit of a relief rally after dropping to $56 at one point last Wednesday morning. I know several folks whose companies were in the middle of trying to divest an asset package or brokers trying to close out mineral deals and they have not been sleeping all that comfortably lately.
  2. Looks like I'm heading up to the lease tomorrow with my brother and my niece. First trip in a few months. Gonna go set up a new camera at one feeder, do some mowing around the camphouse...etc. but mostly just enjoy a day away from the city. I turned off all the feeders last time I was there in February, but still occasionally seeing hogs randomly passing by the cameras. I think next time out I'm gonna fill up 1 specific feeder that sits near a hog trail and make that our Summer hog hunting spot. We'll fill up the rest and start feeding around Labor Day as usual.
  3. Yeah, I gather that my old pal only sells a handful of places in any given year, but you don't really need to do much volume if you're selling ranches that are listed for several million dollars. Also, seems like the prep work he puts in would be a little more fun than typical realtor work (such as riding around the ranches in his UTV taking drone photos).
  4. Hader has given up 1 run and struck out 12 in his first 9 innings of work this season. You can probably do the math on that ERA and K/9.
  5. Buddy of mine works for a ranch brokerage listing big tracts of land like that. He mostly sells stuff NW of Austin (Llano, Burnet...etc.), but the brokerage has associates all over the state and looks like they have an office in Amarillo. https://texasranchsalesllc.com/
  6. But absolutely jack shit until then. Every single day in the 15-day is warm and sunny.
  7. Quite a roller-coaster day for WTI today. Down to $55.48 at the low point this morning, closed at $62.58 (still lowest price since May 2021).
  8. Trump ups China tariffs to 125%, caps all other country tariffs at 10% for the 90 next days.
  9. What's their favorite part of the podcast? Sacks' utter disdain for Ukraine and fellating of Russia?
  10. Nah, Houston. Guy loads up a big trailer with ice and drives over to a farm in Louisiana and picks up a couple hundred sacks on Saturday mornings. Drives back to Houston and delivers to bars and restaurants, but he makes a pit stop when he gets back in town where "friends" can come pick up a couple sacks before he hits his big clients. Good friend of mine started cooking crawfish on the weekends at a brewery during an extended post-COVID stint of unemployment and became buddies with their crawfish supplier. Eventually got me on the "friends" list. I then got a couple of my buddies in.
  11. Prices have definitely improved the last few weeks. Buddy is having his annual Spring boil on Saturday. Our mutual delivery guy is down to $2.75/lb and his sacks tend to be good size and very little dead loss. I'm sure there will be a price surge for Easter weekend, but should drop back to $2.50 or less thereafter.
  12. Down nearly $10 in 2 days.
  13. Bout ready for this upcoming front to arrive. Weather has been quite blah this week and is just straight nasty today. Currently 87 and muggy as hell with a feels like of 94. Ain't ready for this shit yet. And wow, just saw that temps on Saturday night/Sunday morning are expected to drop even lower than last time I looked earlier in the week. Then the next 5-6 days after that are just about perfect April weather.
  14. Some fun stats: 33 TB and 4 XBH are dead last in MLB. 9 total runs and 8 RBI tied for dead last. .175 AVG and .496 OPS are 29/30, trailing only ATL's abysmal .144 and .474.
  15. Looks like most of the state should get some more showers Friday/Saturday ahead of a late-season cold front pushing through over the weekend. Seeing highs in the 60's, lows in the 40's Sunday and Monday.
  16. Dude just couldn't put away those first 3 batters. Got to 2 strikes in all 3 counts and then they just kept fouling shit off. Not a good performance of course, but buckling down to get the next 3 guys to K/Sac Fly/K is pretty close to ideal when you're looking at bases juiced, no outs. and tenuous 3-0 lead.
  17. After Game 1/162, Astros solidly in first place, Rangers languishing in the cellar with the Angels.
  18. No offense to Hader, but I don't mind at all if he doesn't get a save opportunity today. Gimme 1 or 2 insurance runs.
  19. I was about to really sweat that Nimmo AB but luckily a buddy at the game spoiled it for me. Seems like TV feed is about 40 seconds behind.
  20. Not complaining about getting guys on base, but we need to land a knockout punch. Ready for an XBH after all these walks and singles.
  21. I'm glad Jake is relatively fast and that ball was hit relatively soft.
