Houston-area Blastfurnace looks like it's getting ready to fire up in earnest next week after a few more days of rain. 95+ pretty much everyday starting Wednesday. Couple of 97s in the extended forecast for week after next.
Can't seem to find it again, but saw an interesting IG reel earlier from an agent talking about how dismal the real estate markets are in Galveston and Bolivar.
Galveston = 1700 properties on the market. One single neighborhood in Jamaica Beach has over 100 houses for sale.
Bolivar = 550+ properties on the market. Only 10 sold in the past month = >50 months of supply.
Basically, the gist of the video was "if you're looking for a beach house to use, not as an investment, now's the time to start tossing out some crazy lowball offers."
So many people bought beach houses down there during COVID and the market went crazy for about 18 months. I know people that bought/built cabins for $400K in the late 2010's that sold them for >$800K in 2022. I can't imagine how many people are totally underwater.
Might need the offense to break out tomorrow. I have a feeling that even with Hunter starting, we ain't holding them scoreless for a third straight game.
I've said it before, but so far we're looking like the mirror image of the '23 Stros. Will probably end up with something pretty close to that squad's 90-72 record, but go about it in a completely opposite fashion. Winning low-scoring games, 1-run decisions, extra innings...etc.
This squad is on pace to hit ~50 fewer HR and drive in ~175 fewer runs than that team, but not crazy to think they'll finish with a better record.
Same. Annual weekday game that I do every year with a buddy from work and a client/friend of ours. Pregame lunch and drinks, game, then cocktails and cigars at the Petroleum Club. I'm gonna feel like shit on Friday!
$77.50 WTI/$4.10 nat gas this morning.
Unrealistic, wishful thinking, but that's pretty close to my ideal price ranges ($80/$4.50) where I wish it was possible to set things on cruise control for a year or two.
