  1. In a world where anything goes as planned for the '25 Astros, Smith gets frequent days off, accounting for the fact that he has only spent 32 games in the minors and has never played anything remotely close to a 162-game season.
  2. Finally a shot to get some momentum and Caratini and Smith both K with men on 2nd and 3rd.
  3. Holy shit, an RBI single with RISP.
  4. Yet another fucking GIDP after getting the leadoff man on.
  5. You can score a run on less than 6 hits??!??!
  6. It's Walker dingers or nothing so far this series. 3 runs on 14 hits (plus a few BB and errors) through 13 innings.
  7. Welp, had to push this trip back to next Saturday, which had me bummed out b/c I was really looking forward to getting out there for the first time in months, but it seems to have worked out for the best as it's currently raining cats and dogs at the lease and looks like it will for most of the day. There's a lot of things that can be said about our place but "a fun place to be when it's raining" is not one of them.
  8. There's no such thing as "getting it right" when it comes to the initial survey releases. Never really has been.
  9. Wulaw can rejoice. Trump just fired the BLS commissioner.
  10. The hot, dry days touching 100 only stuck around SETX through Wednesday. Back to mid-90's and high humidity for the foreseeable future. Still a good 40 days away from when I start scouring the GFS models for any hint of the Fall's first cool front. Only noticeable difference over the next few weeks will likely be the days getting a little bit shorter. Currently losing a little about 90 seconds of sunlight each day. 2 Fridays from now will be the last sunset of the year later than 8 p.m. in the eastern portion of TX.
  11. I imagine getting outscored 32-8 during that 5-game losing stretch shook things up a bit.
  12. Dana also said they were looking for pitchers but felt asking costs were too high. Satisfied with the arms that will be returning soon.
  13. Per Tags, Sanchez will primarily platoon with Smith in RF. Stros are concerned about Cam's workload.
  14. He's owed around $110M from now through the end of the '28 season. Twins are eating $33M, we're on the hook for about $77M.
  15. Quite an unexpected trade deadline for the Stros, IMO. We re-upped at 3B, OF, and UT, but didn't grab a single arm. And we gave up next to nothing talent-wise but took on a lot of payroll.
  16. Welp, no pitching help coming via trade.
  17. Per Rome, Astros are still looking for a middle reliever before the deadline expires in 15 minutes. Also, he described the still-unnamed prospect heading back to Twins as "minimal"
  18. LOL. Knew I was missing something.
  19. Yeah, I'm presuming most common lineup will feature Correa 3B, Pena SS, Urias 2B, Walker 1B, Diaz/Caratini C/DH, OF of Sanchez, Smith, and Dubon/Trammell.
  20. Cool. Was definitely gonna say that looks like East TX. My place is down near Rayburn and the terrain looks fairly similar.
  21. Astros also getting Jesus Sanchez from Marlins. There's your lefty OF.
  22. Dumbass shit I saw on my LinkedIn feed: 0% chance this interaction occurred in any way remotely as described.
  23. Correct if I'm wrong, but hasn't Dana said for weeks that a LHB (preferably in the OF) and starting pitching were the priorities? We really gonna instead trade for another RHB in the IF and a middle reliever? I get that Paredes injury changes the calculation, but that would be a pretty big about-face.
  24. Good. Brining Correa back after likely getting Pena back tomorrow and picking up Urias makes zero sense unless the Twins are willing to get no-lubed. We need a starting pitcher and/or a lefty bat in the OF. SS/3B is about our least area of need right now, and we definitely don't need another right-handed bat that costs $30M/year and is barely above-replacement this season.
