  1. I enjoyed the White Queen and White Princess and this is pretty much in the same mold and based on historical facts with a little drama added in.
  2. At this point I assume whoever comes back doesn't make it to the finale. But if they did I would have a massive issue of them spending 24/7 with the jury just seems odd. If they keep this format I can only assume they will tweak it. For the record I would be fine with Devens winning, he has played a really good game the last couple of weeks BUT if he does make the final the other players should absolutely shred him for how awful he played for the first 2/3 of the game. The game changing blindsides he was on the wrong side of several votes in a row, he was voted out already, and if it wasn't for finding an idol over and over again he would have been voted out for a second time. But if he does indeed win out via the earned idols he wouldn't be close to the luckiest player to win.
  3. Agreed, If they introduce another idol into the game other than the two that are already in play at this point I might quit watching. I agree, but if they are going to have it that would be the only way it should be done.
  4. For history buffs and those that love the Tudors. First episode aired this past Sunday. I watched the first episode last night, not bad. Charlotte Hope is Catherine and was Myranda for GOT fans.
  5. Agreed, similar to Top Chef and how they have last chance kitchen. You have to keep winning every "week" to continue to have a chance to get back in the game. And top 3 favorite is even worse. There have been far more entertaining players then Devens. (in my opinion of course!)
  6. This is exactly where I am at as well. Devens is entertaining but that is the story we are being told by producers. I think a lot of people forget about that. They change the game again and look here the guy that game back in the game is finding idols left and right. It's the perfect story for producers to cling onto and sell to viewers. As for the idols I have said this before and will say it again at some point they need to let the players actually play the game otherwise what the hell is the point??? Yes, it's good TV to show Devens looking and finding the idol but to me it just seems overkill. Make them earn the individual immunity (like he did by the way) to save themselves. I am not as hard line on Devens winning, he has been back in the game for a long time and done what he has needed to do to survive. It would be even worse if one of the people sent home the first couple of weeks comes back in the game next week and makes the final after sitting on their ass for almost the entire season but I'm guessing by the edit that isn't happening. I also assume the next vote will be the last time to use an idol. (or I sure as hell hope it is) which makes Devens and Lauren safe. At this point I think it's Devens, Lauren, and Gavin that make the final 3. As for Devens being a top 3 player All time? Not a chance. He was AWFUL before he got voted out the first time and on the wrong side of far too many blindsides that very easily could have been him not the stronger player that went home. Sure you need a little luck to win but Devens wouldn't crack my top 20 players all time.
  7. Yeah that Bill Cosby story is an all timer.
  8. Oakley walking into Secondary school this morning:
  9. Ha. So people were right all along.
  10. BUT YOU WILL MISS THE BIG SECRET THAT HOWARD IS GOING TO REVEAL!!!!!!! As for the show- I hate Bobo with a passion but yesterday was funny as shit. He is such a moron.
  11. Not exactly but he is too stupid to explain it to the average person How the "truth" will damage his reputation more than anything. Showing massive losses in income while living a lavish life style is pretty common when dealing with Real Estate. Want to Make Millions and Pay No Taxes? Try Real Estate Real estate is a cyclical business. Markets crash. Deals sour. But hard landings are rare for a savvy property mogul, thanks to the U.S. tax code. Take Harry Macklowe, a New York City developer. Macklowe, 81, hasn’t paid income tax since the 1980s, according to a court opinion in his divorce proceedings issued in December. The ruling, which also divided luxury homes and an art collection worth more than $650 million between Macklowe and his ex-wife, Linda, doesn’t suggest the couple did anything wrong to avoid paying income taxes. Rather, it highlights the special perks available to property investors in the U.S.—advantages that have expanded under the tax law signed in 2017 by Donald Trump, America’s real estate developer president. “The real estate industry is notorious for throwing off lots of deductions, and real estate developers are notorious for paying very few taxes,” says Steven Rosenthal, a senior fellow with the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center. “As Leona Helmsley said, ‘Only the little people pay taxes.’ ” Linda claimed her ex-husband used $448 million of net operating losses to defray income taxes from 2008 to 2015, according to the court opinion. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-04-24/want-to-make-millions-and-pay-no-taxes-try-real-estate It's how the game is played. Passive income is a different animal and one that the average american getting two paychecks a month would never understand. Bottom line Trump is a colossal asshat but I don't think the story is anything more than something that damages Trump's brand, which of course the one thing he cares so much about.
  12. Like I said earlier in this thread Sue's finale "rat and snake" rant wouldn't even be viewed as out of the norm if it happened now. It was just a completely different game the first few seasons.
  13. There is plenty of blame to go around (and who the fuck cares who's fault it is anyway?) ALL of them fucked it up. They are going to have to pull one hell of a 4th quarter comeback to even get back in the game let alone win the fucker. I am a glass half full guy so hoping they pulled their heads out of their asses but am losing hope like everyone else. At this point I am really hoping whatever way they chose to end it is at least in some way satisfying.
  14. This might be cheesy for some but I know at least a few will appreciate it- It was the perfect storm for me yesterday. Obviously watched it at work on my computer and contributed to this thread until I left the office. That's when the real fun for me started. I coach my twin boys 9U soccer team and we had practice last night. So right from the high of the end of the game, home to change, pick up the boys and head to practice. 9 is such a great age because they are old enough to get it but still young enough to not be tainted by social media and everything else that can make sports a beating sometimes. It's tough to explain if you don't have kids but their joy of sports is just pure fandom without the negative side. Well, I didn't tell them that Liverpool won or were even playing (they knew they had lost 3-0 because we watched it but didn't know the return leg was yesterday) It was tough as shit not saying anything to them but I was able to do it and had an absolute blast at practice with the rest of their team. After practice was over we went home, they took showers while I made dinner (wife is out of town for work, love my wife to death but also part of the perfect storm- "guys night"). I tell them that Liverpool played and one of my son's instantly said "They won 4-0 didn't they!!!!!?" Again it was hard to not tell them but I told them they would have to watch. So as we ate dinner the three of us watched the entire game, it was like it was new all over again and seeing the joy and happiness on their face as each goal went in and the unbelievable became possible, probable, and then happened is something that I will never forget. They went nuts and the post game YNWA was so fucking perfect it not only made me happy all over again for my favorite soccer team but just an amazing teaching moment for my kids that nothing is fucking impossible if you work your ass off and believe. I said it in the CL thread but yesterday is why sports are so damn amazing. Not only for the entertainment but the relationships, teamwork, drive, love and belief that are such an important part of life and one that I am always trying to explain and teach my kids not so they become a great (insert any sport here) player but more importantly they become great people. It's truly an experience that is difficult to explain but one that I again will never forget. TLDR: Watched game with kids, it was awesome, life lessons, etc.
  15. Yep and it's why they always bring us back. From the lowest lows to the highest highs.
  16. I know it's partially why we are all here but sports are just so fucking awesome sometimes.
  17. just coming to post that! Fucking awesome. Love Hendo at the end of this-
