  1. Agreed. Finally got caught up and watched last night's episode. I like how the story is progressing and glad they finally fixed the most glaring plot hole there are still a lot of confusing moments where I need to press pause and figure out what world and who from what world they are covering but it's getting a little easier. Spoiler for those that haven't watched last night-
  2. Yeah, I had the same issue last year when we moved. Free 4K upgrade that we were supposed to get? Nope. $100 gift card because they fucked up? Nope. My favorite is calling and having the CS rep I could turn off one of my receivers to save $5 a month. I basically told her look do you really think I would waste my time to call in to save five fucking dollars? She sent me to the retention department rather quickly after that. And wanted to add they are too fucking stupid to realize if they just dropped their shorts now they would be able to keep a shit ton of their clients from leaving. Instead of forcing your clients to call in every 6 months to cut their bill in half how about you run an audit and see who calls in every 6 months. Offer all of those clients a reduced charge and let the fuckers that never call in pay full price. It really isn't that difficult not to mention you would be able to cut your fucking CS department by half who all they do all day is field calls of people pissed that they are paying too much.
  3. This. As I said before FOH should be a layup. Make a safe "good" dish that is easy to prep and prepare. Help other chefs prep the rest of your time and then get your ass out front and train the fuck out of the staff.
  4. Yeah, the thing about those "polls" is they don't ask any follow ups to the idiots responding on how they would achieve that, what they would be giving up in return, and the ramifications of doing so. It's the same shit as Universal Health Care. It sounds great in theory (and I am not saying that Health Care system in this country doesn't need a major overhaul) but implementing it and letting everyone know what they are going to have to give up to get there are two vastly different things. In a vacuum everything sounds great until that person realizes what they would have to sacrifice to achieve it. It's an easy question to answer when it doesn't affect you.
  5. The 70% tax rate isn't as crazy as thinking it's even remotely possible to eliminate ALL fossil fuels in 12 years. I don't have a problem that she is a woman and like others have said it's great there is new blood in DC. That said it will be interesting to see if this new crop of so called "radicals" or "outsiders" really do move the needle or after a short time in the lime light will be told by their own party to shut up and get back into line. Everyone runs on "changing DC" it just never fucking happens. I hope that she and others really do change the way DC is currently run. But I am not holding my breath.
  6. A mouse trap with notification phone app? Now I have seen it fucking all. 15 for $9
  7. He just doesn't get it at all. I use to feel bad for him as I am sure he is a nice kid but holy hell he is fucked in the head. He has no clue that all of his bravado and "confidence" really comes from a massive insecurity complex that he has no idea he has. And whoever the hell he is seeing for therapy should lose their license because they are just making him worse. And getting air time is actually probably the worse thing for him but in Howard's mind it's good for radio so Howard doesn't give a shit. And here is a pic of his GF-
  8. Agreed. Although Nini's team didn't do a whole hell of a lot to help her fix her massive fuck up she had to go. And even if she had the best FOH staff in the world she is horrible at that role. Speaking of my time in restaurant management right out of college back in the day there is NOTHING worse than when everything goes to shit and the kitchen is fucked. It's like a awful nightmare that you just can't wake up from and the time moves so fucking slow. When that happens you are just praying for the rush to be over, the night to end and the last ticket sold out of the kitchen. I don't miss the long hours and ass beating that the job was but it sure was a hell of a lot of fun.
  9. This. I couldn't imagine trying to keep everyone happy, I agree on principal it looks stupid but honestly if he isn't happy because he's not playing there isn't a whole hell of a lot you can do other than loan him out to get minutes elsewhere and to keep him in form. And if the shit hits the fan I assume they could always recall him.
  10. Disappointing but not the end of the world just very little room for error now.
  11. Correct, today's show was just a repeat of yesterday's
  12. The Sugar won't move from 7PM central and the Rose sure as hell isn't (and won't) be played at noon PT.

    Friends..

Yes. However, what I find more amazing is the bond I have with some of my buddies from college. The lasting relationships I built in just 4 years with some friends is pretty amazing and I guess what makes college so unique.
  14. This. The Rose Bowl is also 30 miles from LAX but you have 10 million more options on lodging and food then you do in Santa Clara. I have a MUCH bigger problem with the venue then I do what day of the week it's on.
  15. Mark Loretta- new bench coach Bob Tewksbury- new mental skills coordinator (whatever the fuck that is)
  16. Psst- Don't tell anyone but the NCAA Men's basketball championship is also on a Monday............. Monday is fine. Santa Clara was an awful choice for the championship for a number of reasons. Makes total sense that tickets are cheap and there will probably be some open seats.
  17. Other than all 3 teams having major issues, you are probably correct.
  18. He was always so great on Letterman.
  19. Yeah, I am still a episode behind. Loving it but definitely a show that you have to watch without doing anything else or you will be even more lost than you probably already are.
  20. Speaking of if I see another fucking SEC apologist on Twitter say "the bowl games don't matter unless they are the playoffs" as a reason for the SEC teams losing to "inferior" non SEC teams I am going to lose my shit. Far too many of those asshats trying to have it both ways depending on the outcome of the games. Also- Conference Bowl record the last two years (obviously not including this year championship game) ACC Coastal: 3-7 ACC Atlantic: 3-4 SEC East: 4-6 SEC West: 6-4 Big 12: 9-4 Pac 12 North: 3-6 Pac 12 South: 1-6 Big 10 East: 4-4 Big 10 West: 8-1
  21. Another fun one- Who scored more points vs Mississippi State's #1 ranked scoring defense? Alabama or Iowa? Iowa which also scored more than everyone on their schedule other than Kentucky who score 28.
  22. Great write up by Gregg Doyel of the Indy Star. The whole story is really well done but long so here is a couple of snippets- INDIANAPOLIS – Tyler Trent liked Mahi Mahi: grilled, not blackened. And he liked Starbucks coffee: something with peppermint, preferably. He liked pizza – thin, not thick – and popsicles. And Pepsi Max. Toward the end, with the cancerous tumor eating into his lower back and then spreading all over his body, Tyler didn’t have control over much. A bag hung next to his bed, connected by a tube to kidneys that weren’t functioning on their own. His legs weren’t working. Or his left arm. But with his right hand he could type on his phone. And he could eat. Lord, could he eat. Doughnuts with sprinkles. Waffle fries from Bub’s Burgers, extra marshmallow sauce. Pancakes. Sweet tea, no ice. Those are just some of the items I brought Tyler over the past few months. It was our ritual: “Tyler,” I’d text. “I’m coming to see you.” Two McDonald’s breakfast burritos for $2, he’d text back, with a smiling emoji. “Tyler,” I’d text another time. “See you in an hour.” Black cherry malt. You don’t have cancer, I told Tyler one time. You have a tapeworm. You’re not dying, I told him another time. You’re pregnant. He smiled. Always, he smiled. Want to feel like a hero? Make Tyler Trent smile. This won’t surprise you, any: Even when he was dying, Tyler Trent refused to die. Even at the end, he wouldn’t give into the cancer that had been coming for him since he was 15, coming back again and again, chipping away at his body but not his spirit, not his faith. Late Tuesday afternoon, the end was near. His family knew. They gathered around his bed and prayed for him. They loved on him. Tyler stopped breathing, and that was that. Everyone looked around. And Tyler started to breathe again. Then it happened a second time. And a third. Three times, Tyler stopped breathing. Three times, he started back up again. One by one, his family approached Tyler – his mom and dad, his brothers, his grandma – and told him it was OK. They would see him again in heaven. He could go. They were ready. Tyler stopped breathing a fourth time. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/2019/01/02/doyel-tyler-trent-purdue-fan-cancer-made-difference/2461449002/
