  1. Mr. Juicy does CFS right on a pile of delicious fries and covered in au poivre sauce instead of fake cream gravy.
  2. Whole bacon. No cheese. Add some crispy taters.
  3. Do we need to start a new thread for 2024? I finished December strong with 75-73-75 and a front nine 36 in the week between Christmas and New Years, which is surprising since I hadn't practiced at all and only played once since October. Immediate reversal of index trajectory, as I had been trending up all year. Despite those good rounds, I hit my irons like poo. It's amazing what hitting fairways and scoring with the short game will do to your scores. I may swear off of hitting irons at the range entirely.
  4. Leftover steak and fried oysters with a couple scrambled eggs for breakfast should get the day going nicely.
  5. Chess with a crumb crust, and an old school cherry. Pops must’ve wanted a piece of the cherry when it was still warm cause I walked in on him eating a piece with ice cream about an hour before dinner. His reasoning was sound so I decided to join him. Went half lard/half butter on the crust and the level up in flakiness from the lard was unreal.
  6. Same, but after running through a few clips after just a few months each I eliminated a couple useless cards and have been on the same one for 10+ years now.
  7. The kick doesn’t clear the crossbar if Ced doesn’t fight through contact in the backfield. I can make myself tear up on cue by telling the story if Ced’s final game and final carry as a longhorn. RIP
  8. Interestingly enough, the Aggies have scoreboard over all but one.
  9. The University of Texas holds current scoreboard bragging rights over every college or university it has ever played from the state of Texas.
  10. Good point. That’s me showing my ass. I’ll stfu now.
  11. Not sure what you’re looking at. It’s certain contracts for goods or services. While it’s not limited to just construction contracts, one of the exceptions for the types of recoverable damages is specific to construction contracts. Chapter 271, Subchapter I of the Local Government Code.
  12. Hit this up last night and it was choice.
  13. The La Fonda on Main is certainly better, but I grew up going to the one in Oak Hill, so I feel right at home hitting up the AH location when Soluna and Paloma are too crowded.
  14. Used to be Simi's on Fredericksburg but I haven't been there in a few years so I can't guarantee they've kept up their game. You should check it out and report back. India Palace just up the road in the Med Center is also solid.
  15. I take my youngest there all the time and grew up going there myself. I don't think we got to ride elephants back in the mid 80s, but I do recall riding some camels I think, near where the new Kiddie Park is. I noticed last week that I hadn't seen the third elephant in a while. Now this. And the article says they are shipping the lone survivor off to be with other elephants, then converting the space to give the giraffes and zebras more room to roam. On the bright side, they did add some big ass tortoises to the mix across from where they keep the different crocodile adjacent lizards.
  16. Got the most insane food poisoning I’ve ever had at Roho a few years ago. Torta was delicious though. Almost worth it.
  17. Just saw it. Definitely felt like there was a Miles Teller/Glen Powell romantic arc that got left on the cutting room floor.
  18. Defense counsel is clearly coaching her on appearance for when Depp's lawyers break out a giant poster of the Hot/Crazy matrix as a demonstrative exhibit.
  19. First round of 2022 in the books last weekend after being laid up all of January and February with a herniated disc. Hit 12 greens but needed 38 putts for a smooth 80. Two birdies but missed four more chances inside 5 feet, even three-putted one of those. I obviously need to go pound some more buckets at the range.
  20. We hosted an Argentinian foreign exchange student my senior year of HS whose last name was Fernandez-Stahlschmidt.
  21. I used to work on Soledad near the downtown library. Friday for lunch I would hit the drive through daiquiri joint on San Pedro in Five Points. I will grant you were at a Saturday morning kids' soccer game, but I learned that a 32 oz daiquiri needed at least 4 extra shots to make it right. No puffy tacos on the menu, but I hit Los Azuelejos on NW Military for the second time this evening and the food was fantastic. Strawberry margarita on the rocks (wtf but delicious), ribeye chicharron appetizer, and octopus tacos.
  22. He’s not going to like what I do with the green onions, or the nonstick skillet I sometimes use, but he’d eat it.
  23. I got rid of the rice cooker years ago when I sort of went kitchen minimalist. The downside is that I can only guarantee perfection if I have a 3 quart sauce pan, and I have to cook exactly 2 cups of uncooked rice at a time, no more, no less. The upside to that downside is that there is always plenty of cooked rice left over, which means my next day fried rice game is top notch.
