  1. For the purposes of medal count though, I think hers count for Harvard since that's where she spent her entire collegiate track career
  2. I wish they kept a list of each school's representatives. I'm using the Daily Texan list from the OP, which might not be completely accurate, but by my count right now, we're at 4 Gold, 5 Silver, and 3 Bronze
  3. The NFL is really pushing Women's flag football as a sustainable sport. There are world championships (When México upset USA in 2022, the QB for Mexico signed a deal with Under Armor and starred in a Super Bowl commercial), and it's coming to the 2028 Olympics
  4. Just moved to SD, so hits close to home etc etc
  5. Out of curiosity, what was Worthy's 100m PR? EDIT: Found it myself. "As a sophomore in high school, Worthy ran wind-legal personal-best time of 10.65 in the 100-meters" https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2024/03/08/xavier-worthy-kansas-city-chiefs-40-yard-dash/72899341007/
  6. My sophomore spring was when Coach Tony V got hired in Weslaco. In our situation, Spring ball was extremely important. We were transitioning from an attempted shotgun, spread, no huddle, signal in the plays offense to Coach Tony's Slot T. Talk about two different ends of the spectrum. Anyway, we absolutely needed Spring ball that year to just learn the basics and terminology of the new offense.
  7. According to this I missed a silver medal somewhere. As of now, I had the count at 3 gold, 4 silver, 3 bronze
  8. Hell yes, give me all of the anime celebrations!
  9. My Godsister is an athletic trainer at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston and she was selected to cover the skateboarding team. She's was with them at the last world championships and now she's in Paris with the team!
  10. With roster changes coming, maybe he wouldn't have made the 34 man cut for a baseball scholarship but would make the 105 man cut for a football scholarship?
  11. Posted in the Olympics thread Thought it was pretty cool to see yesterday, they did a feature on American swimmer Reagen Smith (silver, 200m backstroke I think) before the race and showed videos of her training with Bowman while he was wearing Longhorn gear. Makes for great exposure I reckon.
  12. He's the private coach for several American swimmers and he's the head coach for the French national team... so that's a lot lol Also, pretty cool to see... they did a feature on American swimmer Reagen Smith (silver 200m backstroke I think) and showed videos of her training with Bowman while he was wearing Longhorn gear. Makes for great exposure I reckon.
  13. Also, sort of Longhorn adjacent is Shaine Casas, who will be swimming the 200 IM (alongside Longhorn Carson Foster). Originally from McAllen (Puro RGV!), he went to A&M (first NCAA swim champion in A&M history), then intended to transfer to Texas for his senior year. Instead of transferring, he decided to turn pro instead, but he still made the move to Austin to train under Eddie Reese. UPDATE: Finished the semis with the 9th fastest time, does not qualify for the final
  14. I'll try to keep a running list THURSDAY UPDATE: Hubert Kos, rising junior, wins the Longhorns first GOLD in the 200m backstroke SATURDAY: Add 2 more GOLDS! 16. Fun 2-2 draw with preseason Chelsea today
  17. I have a niece named Neveah (Hispanic, not white, surprisingly, I know). Phonetically, she is Neh-vay-yah.
  18. I saw other reports that fee could get as high as €20 million, probably with performance add ons or sell on clauses or etc
  19. I'm about to hit my 12th year in the military, which comes with a little pay raise as long as the pay people don't fuck it up. You can expect my contribution to go up once that hits
  20. Keep asking. He'll get tired of his break eventually. Pleasepleaseplease.gif
  21. Long game. Klopp hadn't stepped down from Liverpool yet when we rehired Gregg.
  22. It's happening? Fox Sports post-game reporting Gregg is OUT!
