  1. Actually, they were right. It's not worth sending to.
  2. I imagine the student corral will be waving blown up pictures of his mug shot. Whether you agree or not, students trying to be wild and crazy will probably at least think of it.
  3. Basketball as a sport is setup for programs that have advantages to bounce back pretty quickly. With consistent roster turnover, NIL, transfer portal, etc, a new coach in year 1 can build a talented roster from scratch and compete. That's not the case is football, where a couple of bad seasons can start a bad spiral. So long answer to say, yes, if we get a final four this year (first in 20 years), I'll definitely take that for 3-4 years of Terry as head coach. If he doesn't perform up to standards, a new coach in 3-4 years has a chance to rebuild the roster and hit the gas from the start. Plus there is no "gotta get him now" coach out there. Every coach on our list won't be more unobtainable in 3-4 years. And there might even be more names that coach their way onto our wanted list.
  4. How does a team qualify for nationals? Nationals are in Gulf Shores, AL this year and next, which is less than an hour from me. Would be awesome to go watch if we qualify!
  5. So you skipped last season, huh?
  6. From the article, Ruiz deftly trying to sum up the NCAA (quote unedited):"Not only is the in violation of the constitution, it’s also retarded."
  7. Where do they come up with this BS? It literally takes 5 minutes of research. In 1988, when they were handed their punishments from the NCAA for recruiting violations, the NCAA president transitioned from Walter Byer (in position since 1951) to Dick Schultz. Byer was born in Kansas City, MO, went to Rice for a year, transferred to U Iowa, served in the military, was a news reporter in the Midwest, sports editor, then Big 10 administrator before being named the first NCAA executive director. Schultz was born in Iowa, high school coach in Iowa, head baseball coach at U Iowa, head basketball coach at U Iowa, AD at Cornell, AD at Virginia, then NCAA executive director. Byer was at Rice for one year, and that's the only tie either has to the entire state of Texas, much less the University of Texas. It's amazing to me the BS they convince themselves to believe.
  8. They also hid the fact that they had signed him while the QB battle was still ongoing. If they had waited until the QB competition was over and then decided to sign the starting QB, that's one thing. But by signing him, not announcing it, creating content with him, while reporting on the QB competition.... It introduced a suspicion of bias. I think they would've been fine if they had just waited to sign him.
  9. Csb time, A pediatrician I studied under in Houston was on that 1950 team. Dr. Allen Kline, loved talking Texas and loved talking baseball. Pretty sure he worked up until the day he died.
  10. I'm guessing that when the driver of the Jeep started to return fire and two shots hit Miller's windshield, he got the fuck out of the way.
  11. Well damn. Well, I thought it was a good idea lol I thought this format makes sense for 16 teams and 9 conference games :Keeps our permanent rivals (OU, A&M, Arky), keeps most others traditional rivals, and gets us every SEC team within 6 years. Otherwise, I don't know how the SEC is going to try and make the schedule without overcoming things and meeting those wickets (keeping traditional rivals and getting to go all the way around the conference in a timely period, not like aggy playing UGA twice in 12 years).
  12. What I think should happen: 9 conference games. 4 pods of 4 (i.e Texas OUsucks Ole Miss Miss St just as an example). So you play everyone in your pod every year. That's 3 conference games. 3 permanent crossovers from the other pods. That's another 3 games. That leaves 9 other conference teams that can rotate 3 at a time every 2 years. As an example:
  13. Yup yup. Been a minute since I was in SD though, left in 2017.
  14. I was quite shocked to find out that the OP of that thread is being significantly ridiculed. Figured they'd all jump on that bs.
  15. Pensacola, Florida my man. Go Argonauts! 2019 D-II national champs. The quarterback that year was Austin Reed, who had since transferred to Western Kentucky and led the nation in passing yards. At the D-II, they've had some recent success. Source: I currently live in the Pensacola area.
  16. Another tweet said this guy was going on an LDS mission, so probably wouldn't be on campus for another two years.
