Also, my CSB.
In my high school offense, WR stood next to our head coach, got the play call, ran it into the huddle.
So, first play of the game, I run into the huddle and call the play. Not sure where my head was, but I ran out of the huddle and lined up on the wrong side. Coach calls time out (on the first play of the fucking game) and brings us over. I knew I was about to get chewed out. "What formation did I fucking call?!" I answered. "Then why'd you line up on the fucking left?!" I wasn't dumb enough to answer that obviously rhetorical question. "RUN THE FUCKING PLAY!"
After the game, my dad (who was my high school principal, aka the head coach's boss, and was my high school's offensive coordinator back in the day) was curious to know why coach called the time out. I told him I lined up on the wrong side and got cussed out. My mom gets protective (not seriously, not like threatening to act or anything) and says something along the lines of "Gasp, he talked to my baby like that??!" And my dad looks at her and goes, "Well, he should've lined up on the right side 🤷🏽♂️"
