  1. Haven't gone all the way through the thread yet, so don't know if this was already mentioned, but I watched at Little Woodrow's in Midtown last year and it was the Texas Ex watch party
  2. Thanks, I appreciate the strategy lesson. As much as I love watching volleyball, it's nice to understand what's actually happening and why
  3. Thanks for the great explanations. I didn't know about the overlap rule... That makes sense because I've always wondered how refs make a call that someone is out of rotation. So in a 6-2, the setter is in the back row. Say we receive. On the serve, I'm assuming, if we're in system, the setter moves to the front to receive the pass and then has the option of setting to 3 front row attackers and maybe 1 back row attacker. Once she sets, she moves back to the back row for defensive coverage? Another question, if you're running a 6-2, wouldn't the serving team try and target the back row setter on the serve and force the set to someone else?
  4. I might to drive up from San Diego for that Vegas tournament
  5. New to volleyball strategy here... Can you explain like I'm 5 the difference between a 5-2 and a 6-2?
  6. You know, a lot of people question whether or not this is just a feature, not a bug, of Ange ball. But if you look at the way we're giving up goals... Very rarely is it because we're caught too far up the field or out of position. Last year it was set pieces. This year, our defenders just have a tendency to turn their brains off and it's infuriating. They're in position, and then they just don't move. Romero ball watching against Vardy, long throw ins get in behind... Hell, on Brighton's third goal, both Cuti and Porro are right there and neither of them fucking move. They just fucking stand there and watch like they are Case McCoy or something. If our defenders could just focus and mark someone in front of them when the opponents have the ball in the final third, we'd be in the top 4.
  7. And I think we've all seen that Georgia players don't do well on roads....uh, I mean, on the road.
  8. San Benito is not good this year, even among RGV teams.
  9. From Vandy bio. Previous Pitt St Head Coach and New Mexico St OC under Jerry Kill
  10. It showed up on the board several years ago. Someone posted an pre-season team preview "article" I think by Chip Brown and it was so good that I didn't realize it was fake until he said our defense was playing "like a pride of fuck lions" I can't be the only one that remembers that
  11. How do you feel about "pride of fuck lions" though?
  12. Go Trojans!! We are... Well... Frankly, we suck ever since our coach left us for fucking TULANE. It doesn't help that our best wide receiver is recovering from Osteosarcoma (get well soon Chris!) and our other best wide receiver is stuck in a useless offense at A&M. I guess there's always next year. First leg of the coveted Commander-in-Chief's Trophy. GO NAVY! BEAT AIR FORCE!
  13. RANK NAVY AND ARMY YOU COWARDS (Found this stat interesting. First time since 1945 that both have started 4-0. Go Navy!)
  14. I love being a bit behind on this thread and reading posts such as these knowing that BG went on to lose to (checks ESPN app) Old Dominion 😂
  15. I know Rori has the medical redshirt and can still come back next year... But if she doesn't, ESPN has her a potential top 10 pick in the next draft.
  16. Weslaco tops San Benito 28-14. Apparently San Benito is down 6 or 7 starters due to long term injury. And it doesn't get any easier as they travel (to a neutral site that I can't find any info on) to face Carthage next week.
  17. That entire forum is currently locked. Things must be going well over there.
