The ring love is another chapter in their long book of stolen valor. I know most/all universities do class rings, but the military academies are REALLY proud of their rings. My current CO is an academy grad and still wears his academy ring on most days Quick cool story bro: When I was in flight school, the instructor walks in and goes, "Ok who are the ring people in here? I know you're in here, Academy, VMI guys... Go ahead, get it out of your system now, do the bullshit knocking thing y'all do"... All of the academy/VMI/etc grads start knocking their ring on the table. The aggy grad sitting next to me sheepishly starts knocking his ring too, even though no one in the room ever thought about, much less actually mentioned, A&M in that group. VDV OUT vs Liverpool 😭 From The Athletic: “With Micky, and (Cristian) Romero to a certain extent, I kind of feel we have to be conservative with them. Micky got through the game (against Elfsborg last Thursday) alright but I don’t think he feels ready for the step up in intensity to the Premier League. “After losing Radu, and this is my view, I don’t want to risk losing them. The other guys are inching closer as well.” On Van de Ven, Postecoglou added: “We had a look at the figures in terms of the physical output. He does a lot more in training and got through it okay. The Premier League is a whole different beast. “We have a big week ahead of us. We have afforded ourselves a couple of midweeks without fixtures. After that, Europe kicks in which is massive for us. I don’t see the sense right now in risking that. Having Kevin in is a massive bonus for us. (Van de Ven) hasn’t reinjured the injury. I think we feel and he feels we need to get more into him.”- Johntay Cook dismissed from the football team.

Well shit. When I live in Pensacola, we're just starting our program. First year in Cali, and it's going back. I've still got a house in Pensacola and a ton of friends in Gulf Shores... Maybe I'll decide to be back in the area that weekend, we'll see. There's always next year!- Rodney Terry has been fired

Jones!!!- NIL Recruiting News Megathread
That's how almost all professional athletes are treated. In American professional sports, at least there's a CBA so that players get some input into how they are treated. But they can be traded, cut, or sold as commodities. Hell, in baseball, you can trade a player for "cash considerations"... In other words, you can straight up sell him to another team. In global soccer, they will put release prices into the terms of the contract... Essentially, pay us X price to dissolve the contract so you can sign them. Players are literally talked about being transferred, bought, and sold. In professional sports, if you are under contract with a team, you can ask to be traded, but it doesn't give other teams permission to contact you. That's tampering and there are consequences to that (fines/draft picks/etc). I think this Wisconsin situation is similar...I don't think it'll affect NIL (true third-party NIL such as commercial endorsements and collectives) at all. After all, Wisconsin's complaint barely mentions their collective; they are more worried about the contract signed with the school for AD revenue sharing. I think this situation could hasten the professionalization of NCAA sports and possibly lead to some sort of CBA between college athletes and the NCAA (or some other NCAA-like overseeing entity). However, just like professional athletes, no CBA can place any limits on what an athlete can make utilizing their name, image, and likeness for endorsements. No CBA can limit how much State Farm pays Patrick Mahomes, how much Dr. Pepper pays Quinn Ewers, or how much a group of people pays the Texas Longhorns Tight Ends to make an appearance at a group ticketed event.- Transfer Cycle 2024-2025 - Stop Being Poor
Theoretically, you have to be on the transfer portal in order to be contacted and recruited. On the surface, NCAA is saying you can withdraw from classes at your current school, but if you're not in the portal then you'll have to find a new school the old fashioned way, without being contacted by coaches, without visits, you'll have to apply as a transfer, be accepted by your chosen university as a transfer, then contact the coaches once you've been accepted. Of course, we all know it doesn't work like that, but on the surface, NCAA knows they wouldn't be able to impose any restrictions on the above process.- Negative Recruiting Your Own School: The aggy Screenshot Megathread

I don't understand this board's fascination with comparing Quinn to "an NFL QB" when there are 32 different QBs all with varying levels of accuracy. At least 10 starting NFL QBs right now don't do the things you are talking about. And they are starting in the NFL. Hell, #1 pick / Heisman trophy winner Caleb Williams, I've seen him miss the fade throws out of bounds again and again and again this year, not "hit (WR) without him having to leave his feet". Like most rookie QBs he has really bad plays and some outstanding plays. Now, yes, GOOD NFL QBs make those throws, but, spoiler alert, veteran QBs are generally better than younger QBs. Quinn is a college Junior/Senior and a lot of people on this board expect him to have the consistency of a 7 year NFL veteran. Next year, Quinn will be a rookie NFL QB and there is a huge difference between rookie QBs and even a 5 year veteran. Heck, just look at Sam Darnold now compared to when he was a rookie. He definitely had some bad plays, but picking to criticize a difficult completion to Golden down the sideline and a pass that hit our most expensive WR in the hands is WILD to me.- Transfer Cycle 2024-2025 - Stop Being Poor
"Awful" I remember awful throws...I remember Casey Thompson throwing it 5 yards out of bounds when Worthy was wide open for a touchdown. Hitting the receiver in both hands is not an "awful" throw.- 2025 Orange Bowl - Notre Dame vs. Penn State
