  1. QB: Peyton Manning. For a guy without the great physical attributes, his knowledge of the game was arguably unmatched. RB: LaDanian Tomlinson. PS, powder blues easily my favorite alternate uniform WR: Larry Fitzgerald. Watching this guy was like witchcraft. Went on that touchdown streak in college and helped a historical doormat get to the super bowl. And dude just doesn't drop anything. TE: Tony G. Without question. His numbers are better than most WR in an era before spread offenses really started to catch on in the NFL. Breaking the rules: QB: VY. "Let you nuts hang bitches". Legendary. RB: Probably Cedric, but really loved watching Jamaal Charles play too WR: Jordan Shipley. The only time that an old white guy with bum knees actually benefited us. Also, everyone knew he was getting the ball and it still wouldn't matter. His double move routes were clinical to watch. TE: David Thomas. Seemed like he never dropped anything.
  2. Damn, I was hoping to get some Panther football this week!! My mom is always unsure during this matchup as she worked for these two school districts for the entirety of her career
  3. Played against Alex. Maybe it's my Weslaco bias, but as big as his talents were, his ego was bigger.
  4. I'm sure Shipley's tweet isn't purposely directed at Herman... But damn, it sure does fit.
  5. It's 8pm on Friday night in Japan, and OU still sucks! TEXAS!!!
  6. Wow Mitchell offsides just got bailed out
  7. Now this is the type of material I pay 9.95 for.
  8. Yea, but I way prefer nefarious subplot.
  9. Doesn't really have to do with 2021 recruiting (unless you count that #7 ranked Aerospace Engineering program you'll see if you swipe through the pictures) but all of these engineering programs ranked in the top 10 should provide good counter arguments to any program in this state that claims they have the best engineering program that's ever been known. (To be fair, A&M is not bad and comes in just behind us in the overall school of engineering rankings at tied at #13 to our #11). I glanced through and the only program I saw where they outranked us was in Petroleum, where they were #1 to our #2.
  10. X-posting because... Well, I thought I was on the recruiting board when I first posted it only to realize I was on the Football board. Whatever. But, all of these walk ons got playing time yet no Luke Brockermeyer? Interesting.
  11. All these walk ons got playing time yet no Luke Brockermeyer? Interesting. Not trying to stir the pot or anything....
  12. Was reading through the game thread and it's hilarious how much of the Football board had no idea who Schooler was
  13. From across the Pacific, in southwest Japan, 9am on Sunday morning and Texas football has finally returned... TEXAS!!!!!
  14. Holy shit, that's some good stuff. I'm gonna have to look up his other videos and get my 956 fix. Probably share his stuff with my old teammates that are still back home
  15. PRO: Good get off on the snap. Superior body control and attacks the ball away from his body. Love the way he turns up field after the catch to rack up that YAC. CON: Seems easily distracted. At this point, unsure of how his frame will fill out. Would love to have some testing numbers and measurements, but #COVID. No film against press coverage. How it affects Texas: As a legacy, you'd assume Texas has the early lead here, despite the actions of recent legacies that shall remain unnamed. As a Shipley legacy, however, his place and his roommate at Texas are essentially a foregone conclusion. Currently, he's the lone WR target on the board for the class of 2034. Texas may wait to see some Pop Warner senior film before accepting his commitment, but this seems more like a when, not if. Mike Roach: Buzz with sources close to this recruitment have me close to putting in a Crystal Ball pick for his father Jaxon. Still need to do some more digging to confirm what we're hearing.
  16. Bobby Taylor Emeka Megwa Julian Humphrey (the TikTok star) Denver Harris Trent McGaughey (Shadow Creek TE) They all posted these around the same time yesterday.
  17. So essentially, this year's true freshman have 6 years to play 5 seasons?
  18. "Brooks carried 16 times for 142 yards and scored on runs of 18, 26 and 1 yards, and returned a fumble 51 yards for a touchdown." Avg almost 9 yds per carry, score 4 TDs, but he couldn't stop his defense from giving up 44 points? Pitiful, pull his scholly. Trying to compare him to Cedric Benson when we're not expecting him to play a Cedric Benson role for us is asinine. He's meant to be the RB2 for this class, and he did his fair share of dominating at a level where he should be dominating. Would he be able to jump to 6A and have the same game? Probably not. But we're not recruiting him to give him 25 carries a game.
