  1. I remember the tweets blowing up my timeline.... That was the day I found shaggy and signed up, trying to find out exactly what the hell was going on. Now I'm an F5 hitting degenerate just like the rest of y'all.
  2. When I was stationed in Pensacola, went to Alabama once... And that was right across the border in Gulf Shores and that was for Hangout Fest. Otherwise, I went to FWB, Destin, NOLA, and Atlanta mostly
  3. Hahaha it's all about spin. He's technically not wrong. "No one from there has asked ME to play them". Pretty sure we approached them before Bjork got there, they ran scared, we scheduled Bama instead, and it hasn't officially been discussed since. He's trying to spin the narrative away from "aggy ran scared".
  4. Still has Texas football tagged in his bio FWIW
  5. From looking at it, seems like orange is starters, green is non starter with significant playing time, red is expected to redshirt. Can't figure out bold or italics
  6. I can see it now "With the way Jimbo Fisher has been recruiting on a national level, it's no surprise that the class of 2018 has already been recruited over"
  7. Of course we would, we'd beat the shit out of them. Might as well make sure everyone knows it.
  8. It's not about playing aggy. It's a PR play. He knows whatever he says, aggy is not going to sign up to play. So he loudly makes sure that everyone, including recruits/parents/coaches/trainers, knows that we offered to play and they're ducking us.
  9. Of course he wore a Sooners jersey as a kid.
  10. Fuck Donna, Signed, Weslaco Panther, '08
  11. The tweet said nothing about "being proud to stand for the anthem." It said "...respecting the FLAG".....now normally, there's not much distinction. But when the tweet tags Donald Trump and intentionally parrots his words, it makes it into a political statement and it misrepresents that each individual member in the team condones that political statement. It's extremely disingenuous of the team's social media to do that. This in addition to a large number of professional athletes trying again and again to clarify that the protest is not about the flag or the military, despite that being the direction a lot of opposing voices want to take it. I'm sure the softball players did not want this tweet to misrepresent where they stand on the issue.
  12. With the abbreviated draft, every team in the country is experiencing a massive roster crunch. We did not lose as many non seniors to the pros as we normally would've... So now Pierce has to have tough conversations and trim the roster. I suspect Fields was one of those cases
  13. T-shirt fan here. For about 20 years now (since I was 10 and understood enough to pick my own teams). I love the Eyes of Texas, and to me it means that as representatives of the university (for y'all) and state of Texas (for mere tshirt fans like me), we are expected to go out and be leaders and change the world; to make the university and state proud to count us as one of their own. I hope that progressive conversations are had and that it is decided that the Eyes have greater meaning now than they had at it's origin. However, if they decide to scrap the Eyes, then fuck it! It's a fucking song! I guarantee that if none of you had ever sung they Eyes, your college or Texas experience wouldn't have changed one fucking bit. A song doesn't make the University what it is. The people of the University make it what it is. Someone come up with a song that is just as inspirational and that represents the university and state without having a racist history behind it. I try to make it to at least one game a year, which has gotten harder and more expensive as I move further away (Texas --> Cali --> Florida --> Overseas --> Overseas, now in Japan). I don't spend $1-2 thousand dollars to go to the game just to sing a fucking song at the end of the game. I go to spend quality time with my parents and brothers, cheering on representatives of this great school that wear Texas across their chest, and hopefully cheering them on to a victory. As much as I love the song, I couldn't give two fucks if it gets sung at the end of the game. Whether the song is there or not, I still get to spend time with my family cheering on a team that we love. And we still get to sing Texas Fight with our horns up beside each other. These athletes are doing exactly what Texas wants them to do; they're not bleating like sheep just because they're told to at fish camp...they're standing up for what they believe in and attempting to lead an effort for change. That's leadership. For those of you saying you'll give up your seats and not support the University any more, GREAT! I'll gladly take those seats from you in order to create more lasting memories with my parents. Whether the Eyes gets sung or not. And if we ever start winning again, don't lie to yourselves; you'll be trying to buy tickets to the conference or (hopefully) national championship game just like the rest of us, whether the Eyes are sung or not.
