  1. 1. Username checks out 2. What do you think he was planning to talk about at the press conference?
  2. What part of this season Mitchell seems to have opened a gap between himself and Booker seems strange? You are kind of being needlessly antagonistic and as per usual attempting to gatekeep the topic of the NBA as if you're some qualified expert instead of an Internet douche who would get run out of the gym. I think I'm remembering why I quit posting here from time to time.
  3. Whatever, man. I don't think it's knee jerking to comment that Mitchell is having a great year so far and great in ways that weren't really expected. People are talking about him as an early candidate to sneak into the MVP discussion. Nobody, literally nobody, says that about Booker. And I'm bagging on Booker because he has the most punchable face in the league and his persona is incredibly grating. The two have been, to this point in their careers, almost statistically identical with Booker being a slightly better shooter. That shooting difference narrows when just looking at the playoffs though with Mitchell basically staying the same or slightly improving in playoffs and Booker flagging a little bit. Supporting the idea that he's a front running douche with little heart.
  4. Dude, you gotta relax. I didn't realize Devin was your cousin or whatever. Nothing I said was crazy. Booker is a gifted one dimensional player who has been to the finals on a better team than any Donovan has ever played on. And Mitchell appears to be upping his game in the new environment, demonstrating playmaking skills that were not previously shown. The two are linked in my mind b/c of talking heads a few years back talking about the two of them being the future of the league. Booker acts like he's in that MVP tier but he's a front running scorer who doesn't provide much else. My comment was more about how Mitchell might be separating himself from Booker based on early returns this year. FWIW I think if you swap Ayton and Gobert that last two years it's the Jazz going deep in the playoffs and not the Suns. Swap Booker and Mitchell and it's still the Suns though.
  5. That's the guy. Good player, really good player, but probably not THAT dude. Mitchell is carrying the Cavs without their second banana. Booker's never done that consistently and has never shown that he's more than a one dimensional player while Mitchell is currently showing that he can be an excellent playmaker and distributor.
  6. Mitchell might be the guy that Booker thinks he is.
  7. I kind of want to see the Magic roll out a lineup with Banchero in a point forward role, Bol Bol and Franz Wagner as wings, Bamba and Wendell Carter Jr at the 4 and 5 spots just to see what a lineup of minimum 6'10" guys can do against modern small-ball, positionless teams. I'm sure it would be disastrous but I still want to see it.
  8. Hard to believe he got more cancelled than Louis CK for something like that. I assume ESPN feels pretty confident in their sources, though, since that would be seriously libelous otherwise.
  9. I will go to my grave believing the Nets at least win the East twice without the Harden trade and without Kyrie's antivax nonsense destroying a whole season.
  10. re: Marks the only egregious error he has made was the Harden trade. If KD was the driving force behind that then it's still on the GM for not putting the franchise above the star. KD was under contract for years and not going anywhere. He's never been untrue to the game so he would play even if he didn't want to be there (see GSW playoffs trying to gut it out and leading to career altering injury even when he clearly was done with the warriors).
  11. Beat a woman or fucked a boy are the things that make sense. But also seems like you would hear about those by now.
  12. How do you not even try to trade him at some point instead of just eating his salary?
  13. In a couple of weeks the jazz can send markanen and Conley to LA for a year of Russ and send olynyk and Clarkson to bkn for Simmons. They would instantly become the favorites for the wemby sweepstakes.
  14. It really is baffling. Would class body, YMCA heart.
  15. at least Russ can point to this game and say "See, I'm not the problem here, man."
  16. it should be self evident that any general nba thread is a lakers hate thread
  17. The Nets just had the most hapless 2-3 minutes of professional basketball not starring Russell Westbrook in years. ESPN has him at 8 for 19 but KD has missed like 4 or 5 straight that are usually automatic midrange buckets for him. If he can't be superman this Nets team is sunk. Jesus, Ben Simmons is not a good basketball player right now. He's fucking awful on both ends. Total lack of confidence on offense. As soon as he touches the ball he's looking for a way to get rid of it. Fucking Javale McGee looks more comfortable bringing the ball up the floor than Simmons. His shot is atrocious. Watching him shoot free throws is all the proof one needs to confirm that he don't give a shit about his craft. He gives his man a 3 foot cushion consistently on defense, letting them get downhill or establish position in the paint before he makes any effort. Just all out trash.
  18. I can't find any source to corroborate your contention. All the sources I get with google tell me it is not illegal in all 50 states. One source says it's illegal to operate a motorcycle barefoot in Alabama but that's it. https://www.thezebra.com/resources/driving/driving-barefoot/#:~:text=It's a surprise to many,to make sure of it. https://www.findlaw.com/legalblogs/law-and-life/illegal-to-drive-barefoot/
  19. I don't think that is all that egregious, either the initial call or the ejection.
  20. I always felt that Denver gave up on Bol Bol too quickly. He's a poor man's Wembanarama.
