  1. Did a check on their website and it shows the concert line up through August, no indication if the old or new site though. I did not know Styx and Joan Jett still toured, Nutty going retro.
  2. Saw that the planned HEB at the old Nutty Brown Amphitheater site is going to open in approximately a year. Hope it has a bar like the Lakeway HEB.

    Eggs

Scotched eggs are a favorite, takes a little effort so I don't do them often, breakfast tacos much easier/quicker. Before we moved south used to go to Chez Zee in Austin on weekends and always had the eggs commodore. Basically just eggs benedict with sausage instead of Canadian bacon, but was damn good.
  4. I feel like my house is ready for the single digit temps, not so much for the two vehicles that are always parked outside. Got the cars in the garage, suvs are out. I know, should have built a bigger garage. Dealing with this will be task #1 for me tomorrow.
  5. It appears that there will be some fees/penalties if you choose to attend private or certain out of state schools, I am reading up on that now .
  6. I don't know, and to be honest I have to read up on all details per situation as we made the mistake of assuming she would go to school in state. As related to going out of state I believe it's just a matter of cashing out the funds.
  7. Will be following this closely as my youngest daughter is in the midst of trying to decide/get accepted into various schools. She is actually a pretty good student but has the bad habit of putting everything off until the last moment, school assignments included. She did get a partial scholarship offer to U of Oregon, but only around $7,500.00 a year which is hardly worth considering given all that it would involve going to school that far away. Ideally she will do the CAP/ UTSA to UT(her preferred school) route. Not sure if UT Dallas participates as well. She also has friends that are going to Colorado, Colo.St. and Oregon State, and they are all looking for someone to tag along. This is the part where it gets dicey as we have a fair amount of money in the Texas Tomorrow Fund, and going out of state kind of hinders that. Mrs. Hovis is a Tech grad with a Masters in Engineering but try as she might the daughter wants no part of Lubbock. By the way looking at marketing programs(food related?)so to me there should be a number of options within state. I needs the help.
  8. Got a call from ARC just before noon, asked if I could come in to either the Buda or Kyle location before 7:00 pm for the Moderna vaccine. I live in Hays County but have an Austin mailing address. Scheduled a 4:00 at Kyle and was out by 4:30. They were getting folks through at a fast pace. The 2nd shot is set for 2/27 which is a Saturday, but fine with me. Odd thing is the call came up as a Georgetown phone number, when I asked about that she said she was having to use her cell phone as all ARC lines were swamped.
  9. Stopped by Ghost Note Brewery today, grand opening weekend. They converted an old wedding venue and it's a pretty nice set up. Only six beers on tap as of now, I had a west coast IPA that was decent enough. There was a food truck(mostly burgers)and a few appetizers from the bar. They're still working on turning one of the buildings into a music venue. Overall a nice place to add to the growing list of Hill Country drinking spots. It's off RR12 between Dripping Springs and Wimberley. I wouldn't have known about it if I didn't see their sign by the road. Not much info on their website but a link to the Facebook page shows it's been in the works for a couple of years.
  10. Ahh, Willem Defoe. Ya know, a Bobby Peru character could add about fiddy pages to this thread.
  11. That's a "Judging Amy" looking bitch right there. Would still do her on the back side of the doublewide tho. CHIEF
  12. Maybe time is a frat circle, be patient. He may call if he knows you're on the Urb Train.
  13. CDC isn't stupid, though his choice on the head coach position could alter that opinion. People are sick of Herman, and the lack of viable candidates(other than UM) to replace him has Surly cackling nonsensical bullshit at peak levels.
  14. Speaking of Werther's, anyone else try their flavored popcorn? HEB had a bogo special so I had to give em a try. Ate one bag without setting it down. I'm a slut for these.
  15. No plan B ? Well, let's have a look at that A again, I'm sure something will come up.
  16. The Creamy Creations cinnamon, honey, and sopapilla ice cream is pretty damn tasty.
  17. Just checked in to see what condition his condition is in.
  18. Bumpin' this thread because I'm heading to Frisco/McKinney this Friday thru Sunday evening. Going solo and staying near the Toyota Stadium and playing in a tournament at the Gabe Nesbitt Complex. Haven't been in this area in 15 years, so any recs for good food, drinks are needed. Looks like there is quite a bit to choose from but not familiar with the local places other than hitting up Tupps Brewery at some point. Also , driving up from the Austin area Friday morning hoping to get there before traffic is God awful if that's possible.
  19. Gotta admit, I didn't know what the connection was to breakfast and hobbits. Had to google it since I haven't watched any hobbit related movies. Don't care. Already had some shredded wheat and bananas and saw that there's some leftover pork loin from last night. That's gonna get chopped up for breakfast tacos in about two hours.
  20. I like to have breakfast twice whenever I can. When I get up I'm ready for coffee but not on a empty stomach, so something easy like cereal, oatmeal, toast with jam etc. Couple hours later is when the real breakfast urge hits and it's a lot of the stuff already mentioned along with one of my favorites huevous montulenos. Maybe the second breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
  21. Wake did look strong, and the Tar Heels had been on a hot streak. Would be nice to see Sigsgaard win a singles match tomorrow.
  22. Gotta ask, why a diet coke instead of a regular if your eating a pack of tacos? Calories are obviously not a concern. That's like putting curb finders on the space shuttle.
  23. Have seen the CHPs do it as well so I guess it's just part of the commute to the locals.
