  1. I have been a Rodney Crowell fan since the early 80's, seen him live multiple times including a couple with the Cherry Bombs as his band. My favorite might be the singer songwriter show at the old Austin Opera House with him, Roseanne Cash and Guy Clark. Just took turns playing their songs, no backing band needed. Also saw Roseanne in Denver when Vince Gill was still her lead guitar player, when she introduced the band she made mention that he just signed his own record deal and was moving on up. There are a lot of solid musicians that run in those circles and I love listening to a ton of them. Sorry, this got awful wordy but it's a favorite topic of mine. And Rodney Crowell song list is damned impressive.
  2. Well yeah, he has the build to pull that off.
  3. Damn, that does sound good but might need a side of Lipitor to go with it.
  4. The jalapeno cheddar biscuit with sausage, egg is my favorite thing on their menu. side note: on the old site someone posted a picture of a gal decked out in a Wonder Woman/ Whata Woman looking outfit, what's the story on that? She would be my new favorite item on the menu.
  5. Saw someone from one of the Rim Rock neighborhoods asking for recs for a good mobile tanning company. WTF? I thought the tanning salons were a dying business, didn't know they would come bake your ass at home. Why not just lather on some spf 50 and lay out on the patio? We have a multi-neighborhood Nextdoor site and it's a never ending barrage of coyote sightings followed closely by missing cat notices, snek alerts(there are a lot of sneks, good and bad but the hysteria over them, c'mon) , unsavory characters roaming the streets, and a real hatred toward Spectrum/Time Warner. If you don't like their rates then ditch them, but the babbling over a $150.00 a month cable bill is an endless topic.
  6. How is that Full Sail Ipapaya? Spent a week in Hood River 3 years ago and went to the brewery/ restaurant a few times. Damn I really it liked there, Columbia River Gorge is an awesome place. Get their enewsletter and saw this beer being released but have yet to try it.
  7. The Seafood Market & Sushi Bar on Harbor Dr. was a good lunch spot. Place was damn crowded so a wait should be expected. As mentioned above Little Italy has great options, can't remember the names but ate at two family run Italian places that were both good. Went on a whale watching cruise on a famous old sailboat, JADA. It has quite a history, couple of brothers own it now( this was a few years ago) and do daily tours. Was actually a pretty good time, they have snacks, beer and wine. Had a whale & calf surface right next to us which was awesome. It's really easy to find stuff to do places to eat, you'll have a blast.
  8. A fashion faux pas on my part. I'm from Driftwood so what do I know, pink isn't in my color wheel.
  9. A pink collared shirt and ill fitting outfit. This alone is grounds for a good Tarrytown tazing no?
  10. Well, whatcha gonna do since she said goodbye? Just go rockin' down the highway .
  11. No shit, and hard surface instead of clay so that's a deal breaker for me.
  12. Jumpin' around like a bunch of Kansas City faggots, what do you expect?
  13. Street Beater/ Sanford & Son Theme. Quincy Jones =Funky Twilight Zone Taxi Theme/ Angelica Rockford Files Rawhide (liked the Blues Bros. version too) Sopranos
  14. Hmmm, I can see how this combo would be a challenge to keyboard dexterity.

    Cinco de Mayo

I noticed that when Rich Rodriguez bolted for Michigan a few years ago.
  17. Hell, gotta listen to Guy Clark's Cinco de Mayo in Memphis today. Love that song.
  18. Never met him but went to the same high school in Ft. Worth. I'm older, not tatted up and of course not a douche so I don't relate to the whole Gas Monkey Tom Fuckery . Doucheyness aside he certainly did capitalize on the given opportunity. If I had his money I'd throw mine away.
  19. I have never watched any of the Star Wars movie, it's like a badge of honor now. I did however watch that YouTube video of the plump gal that farts like Chewbacca which brought the lulz.
  20. Have only been there on weekends and the main drag was packed all day. Last time was their Oktoberfest so maybe that was busier than normal. Had lunch at that Dodging Ducks place, looking at a local real estate magazine while waiting and apparently everyone likes it. Cool little town though I wonder how bad the commute into San Antonio is.
  21. Go to San Antonio and towns in the hill country quite a lot. Daughter plays sports vs Alamo Heights, Boerne, Kerrville Fredericksburg etc. Have family in Bulverde and they love it there. Afraid It will be just another big burb with all that brings though. Kids were in Smithson Valley ISD , they liked it but I don't know where it ranks compared to others. Hwy. 281 traffic can really suck at times. Maybe not Houston or IH 35 bad, but all the road work makes it tough. I have never had a problem finding things to do, good restaurants or entertainment in San Antonio although I really don't do bars any more. As mentioned lots of outdoor related activities near by and the coast is a easy drive.
  22. I also cut my own hair, no need to pay someone else to do a buzz cut. Got to keep it short or it grows into the "Reverse Mohawk". Try to do as much as I can in the way of repairs for home, autos, power equipment and such. Don't eat out near as much as we used to and always looking to save dollars when grocery shopping. Mrs. Hovis is a coupon freak. Have also eaten lunch at Costco on a few occasions, their pizza slice or foot long and drink has to be one of the cheapest meals around. Hate cheaply made clothes though, so I would rather spend more for something that won't fall apart or shrink 2 sizes after the 1st wash. I have clothes that I know are older than some posters on here. Used to always stay in budget motels when vacationing/ business travel. That's getting dicey though , for a lot of reasons. After my dad passed away we tried to give his car away to any of the grandkids. No takers, none of 'em wanted to be seen in it. So I got a sweet 90's Geo Prism. Excellent gas mileage.
