  1. I know the place you're talking about. I lived in the neighborhood and went there about once a week.
  2. My Asian wife (pic on the old board) has no interest in seeing this at the theater.
  3. Yes. And yes he is. We had some good conversations.
  4. Has anyone done a superflex league? My long-time league is switching to one this season and I have the 1st pick. Any insights and/or recommendations would be appreciated.
  5. While I don't agree with a government making these decisions, I'm fine with individual airlines doing it. As long as each one was required to post their true asshole passenger score.
  6. Those comments. JFC. As a former teacher and current education researcher, I am not surprised by the sheer stupidity of the average American. I'm down for moving my family to Europe or a tiny island in the South Pacific if Trump is re-elected. My kids are yellow but look brown, so they'd be high on the list for removal. On a positive note, it may be a good chance to talk my wife into being a sister-wife.
  7. Thanks for the recommendations, assholes. Tulemar kicked ass. We were able to rent the Garden House at a reduced rate because there was construction next door. Didn't matter because we were rarely at the house during work hours. We had a chef cook dinner for us 3 of the 7 nights, which was absolutely worth it. Nothing better than doing whatever during the day and then coming home knowing that dinner is covered. Especially with 4 kids (7-12) in the group. Manuel Antonio was a little too touristy for me: however, Agua Azul, Barba Roja, and Bar Jolly Roger were great places. We did most of the requisite activities for the area (zip lining, waterfall hike, and Manuel Antonio National Park). All the Ticos I met and talked with were super friendly. Can't wait to go back. Fishing is definitely #1 on the to-do list. May need to do a father-son trip.
  8. i thought Jimmys shut down. Not according to Yelp
  9. If you are going with a wife/girlfriend and/or kids, the Christmas Spectacular featuring the Rockettes is worth it. Jimmy's Corner is an awesome dive bar in the Times Square area.
  10. Very strange to see this picture on a Longhorn site. I grew up in a town that borders the park. A lot of childhood memories. My favorite was fishing at the trout pond in the park with my Grandpa. The train bridge in the picture is the old one. New one was completed in 2017. Was at Letchworth last month with the wife and kids and did some hiking along the Genesee River below the lower falls. My son (pictured) and daughter had a blast skipping stones across the water. This stone bridge (picture is from the park's website) in the park was built in 1935. In the early 70s, the water of the river rose over the bridge due to a storm.

    Father's Day 2018

I'll be watching my son (10) play in a lacrosse tournament in Tahoe this weekend. When we're at the hotel after each day's games, I'll be having drinks by the pool.
  19. Was traveling in Northern Peru with two friends in the summer of 2007. One was a former professor of mine and the other was my father's dissertation chair (back in 1975). Both traveled extensively and always checked out the local strip club. We're in Chiclayo and jumped in a cab intending to ask the driver to take us to the nearest club. We didn't speak Spanish and he didn't speak English. After some back and forth it seemed like he understood what we were looking for. He starts driving us out of the city. We drive about 10-15 minutes before turning off the main road and enter a residential area. Drive by one house with a guy holding what looked to be a machine gun. Getting a little nervous. Leave the residential area and drive for another 5-10 minutes. Pull up to a motel. Not sketchy at all. We go through the main door and pay a small entrance fee. Walk through another door and enter a open air quad with rooms all around the perimeter. There are about 40-50 guys hanging in the quad. We're the only white ones. Where the fuck are we? A door opens up and woman in lingerie appears. A group of 10-15 guys closest to the door make a mad dash for it. One guy gets in. Ahhh, it's that kind of place. We locate the bar. Order one beer each. Start to notice eyes on us. Time to go. Pound the beers and head out. Luckily the cab driver was still outside. One the way out, we hit a checkpoint or get pulled over (can't remember which). As we're preparing to pull out bribe money, the "officers" get called away on an emergency and let us go. Time to head back to the hotel? Fuck that. After determining we were looking for bailarinas, cab driver took us to another place. I spent the next couple of hours drinking cheap beer and making out with one of the dancers. TL;DR: looking for a strip club in Northern Peru and ended up at a brothel for local mine workers due to a language difference. Did not feel like we'd survive if we stuck around.
