  1. Haven't they been saying asymptomatic carriers aren't spreading the disease? I know I've seen/heard it a few places, but not sure if that's standard across the board or not. But if it is true, then no reason not to play basketball. Those with symptons probably don't feel like running around in the heat.
  2. Quan Cosby was on the radio yesterday and had no issues with the song. Said he never really thought anything of the statues, but could see the concerns there.
  3. It's a special song to a lot of people. The first song my boys learned was The Eyes of Texas from my mother. My grandfather taught it to me. I sang it with my family in Omaha and at the Rose Bowl and thousands of other times with tens of thousands of other people. My dad requested we sing it at his memorial service 13 years ago. And it's a stretch to tie it to racism because of the timing. Hook'em Horns was first used when the football team was all white. Does it need to go away? Dirty Martin's likely didn't serve black people at one time. Do we need to burn it down?
  4. We need to change the name of Washington DC, remove the Washington monument, the Jefferson memorial, etc. - they owned slaves. We also need to change the name of the City of Austin as well. Houston to. And the Alamo? A number of those brave defenders owned slaves - several city and county names will need to be changed to. How far do we go?
  5. Yes she is. And no, pictures will not be provided.
  6. How fucking dare you insinuate that I'm in favor of racism. I made a comment in reference to a tweet about a group of protestors in Philadelphia that defaced a statue that had they know the history of the person it would have been left alone. I'm married to a minority (Lebanese), I have family members that are minorities (Hispanic, Lebanese, Mexican), and my son's girlfriend is a minority (Mexican). I've seen what they are up against on far too many occasions.
  7. In response to the first line of the tweet, VERY. But then the voice of reason is mattering less and less each day.
  8. So create an area all to yourselves, and then beg for handouts. Beautiful.
  9. Glad to see cancer and heart disease have been eradicated from the world. Where do deaths from medical mistakes fit in? Estimates of over 200k in the US die each year from them.
  10. Not sure surging is the right word. Not with a few cases.
  11. The news reports on this read a little differently: FORT WORTH -- A 31-year-old man fatally shot by police early Friday after officials say he swung a metal rod at officers has been identified as Joey Ellis. The shooting occurred shortly after 3 a.m. after officers were called to a disturbance at the Great Western Inn in the 1800 block of Lancaster Avenue. There, police said, Ellis told officers he had broken windows to several vehicles because the manager would not give him a room for free. Ellis was being escorted to a patrol car for further investigation when he broke free and attempted to run, said Lt. Abdul Pridgen, police spokesman. Pridgen said officers attempted to subdue Ellis using a Taser and a baton, but the man continued to resist arrest, picking up a cinder block as if he was going to hurl it one officer and later trying to remove an officer's gun from its holster. Pridgen said the man had picked up a metal rod and was swinging it in a threatening manner at the officers when he was shot by officers E. Pate, 34, and M.E. Anderson, 26. Not sure what the final report was...still, wonder why they never seem to get shot in the leg to get them down.
  12. I'm afraid this generation is more concerned about themselves (look at me stuff) than they are about making the world a better place. Hope I'm wrong, but I don't have a lot of faith.
  13. 11 year olds are not in first year of kid pitch. They are in the last year two years of little league.
  14. If that same person caught the flu and not Covid, would it be listed as a flu death or not? Or caught a cold that turned into pneumonia and died - which way is it listed?
  15. The average flu does this every year as well, albeit over 6-8 months. And there's a vaccine for it.
  16. They made the decision last weekend and start letting friends know Monday morning. Lease is up in June so they decided to just go ahead and close now. One of the two brothers died last year which also played a role. Robert is working on opening his own restaurant once things get back to normal, so we'll see the food return at some point. He's not sure where yet, but has been looking at opening south/Del Valle area. Supposed to meet with him in the coming weeks to talk investment.
  17. Meant to post Friday, but received my loan documents at 4:00 via DocuSign. Had funding in the account 45 minutes later.
  18. So, if you and yours are in the house for two weeks, and your friends are in their house for two weeks (and assuming everyone is doing this) why can't you and your friends get together after the end of two weeks? Again, everyone is staying in and no possible exposure during the two weeks. Conversely, having a conversation in the front yard, with everyone maintaining distance, can happen now.
  19. Application approved yesterday afternoon. Just need the SBA language now. Not sure how some are getting money if the language hasn't been issued yet.
  20. My banker is telling me they still don't have the note language from the SBA yet. Anyone else heard this?
  21. We are not in the tens of thousands. We just hit 10,000. Tens implies multiples. We aren't there, yet.
  22. We can subject ourselves to being around other people doing take out at restaurants and going to stores like Academy, but a guy can't drive a tractor or swing a hammer all day by himself? That makes a lot of sense. The social interaction on jobsites is less than just about anywhere else.
  23. Abbott just issued an order allowing development and construction activities to continue statewide, overruling Adler.
