You should look for a filly with a backwards L to breed with oz&lbs... They could throw off a lower class monster and you could probably find one cheap af if you dig around enough.

That's kinda what I'm looking for, but I'm having a hard time paying that much for something that is still basically unknown and looking a little chunky in the middle of the U so far. I like those odds at that price though, so I'm probably going to just have to bite the bullet on something similar. I think you're right on the filly market - it's going to go up the closer to breeding we get.

Yea, I have no clue what to expect or what my strategy should be for breeding. The one thing I'm pretty sure on is I want my own filly that has decent race results/odds to breed with Despicable Lemon. Finding her is proving to be a real PITA.

In reading the General Chat on the Zed discord, it sounds like a lot of people have stopped racing all but their strongest horses because the matchmaking and competition being so strong right now. Despicable Lemon has now run 100 races and I've hit the pause button on races for the moment. He's still looking pretty strong, especially for what I paid. I think his odds look even better than the results, so I think waiting a bit to race him more will help maintain his value.

Pretty significant update last night from Zed: I like the limitations on breeding. I'm anxious to breed my horses as well, but limiting dilution is a major positive imo. I need to find a decent filly breeder.

Zed Nucleus updated their marketplace with much more useful filters: http://zed-nucleus.com/opensea/ You can now filter by min/max race count and win %.

Someone sent me an unsolicited offer on Despicable Lemon today - .4 eth. If it was double that I might consider selling, but I’ll take it as a good sign.

I bet the horses from the last drop are settling in to the classes where they will usually live and that's making the races more competitive. I would think right after a drop and/or when they open breeding back up will be a good time to be racing a well established horse. Noobs will be trying to figure out what they have with their new horses and it should make things a bit easier. I've pretty much stopped racing my first horse, but have been running my new one a lot. He's staying put in class 5 and still doing pretty well.

Yup, it's a crapshoot. If you want a pretty well established U shaped horse you have to pay up - probably at least 1 ETH or just get really lucky.

Of course I couldn't resist running Despicable Lemon more! 4 races this morning - two 1sts, two 12ths.... Winning percentage is now over 17% & ROI is 68%

Yes. I don't know if it's because of too much congestion on the network or what, but it would be nice if they communicated some kind of explanation about it.

F'n Bittrex pricing is way behind this morning - just now BTC is quoted at $37k (spot $31.6k), ETH is $2,631 ($2,097) and ADA is $1.53 ($1.13). Are all of the exchanges this far behind? That's brutal.

Phew, a lot of late comers are getting their faces melted off this morning. I'm looking for decent entry points in to BTC, ETH and ADA. Sub $30k, sub $2k and sub $1? Or is it still going to get nastier?- Digital Horse Racing (ZED & NFTs)
I wonder if this correction in crypto markets will cause a firesale in the Zed horse market too? I was looking at the main for sale board on Discord last night and it felt like there were a few people already panicking. There could be some deals to be had the next few days.- Digital Horse Racing (ZED & NFTs)
Holy shit. I just raced Despicable Lemon in my first race and he f'n smashed it. He won by almost 2 seconds in a 1400m race: https://3d-racing.zed.run/replay/CSP3ayhI I'm trying not to get too excited, but it seems like I could have a bird's nest on the ground here. He's got 5 wins and 5 lasts in 31 races with <10 odds at every length except for 2400m. I can't decide if I should sit on him now that he just bumped back up to class IV with a 16% win rate and 29% ROI or if I should keep racing to see if I can build out a more well-defined U shape?- Digital Horse Racing (ZED & NFTs)
It showed up in my OS and on Zed already. I was able to pay with ETH directly from my metamask wallet, so it saved me the conversion funds too. Now let's make sure I can race this mofo.- Digital Horse Racing (ZED & NFTs)
I'm going through with it. The middleman posted in the general Zed chat and tons of people were vouching for him. The seller transfers the horse to the middleman (East Coast Stables) through the Zed settings and then after I send funds he transfers it to me. A lot of verified users and/or stables that I have heard of were vouching for this guy. He posted a screen shot when the horse hit his stable and I checked on OpenSea to see if the other horses I could see in the screenshot were in his stable and they were. Hopefully my new horse doesn't wake up laying in an ice bath with his kidneys missing.- Digital Horse Racing (ZED & NFTs)
I'm still communicating with him. I think he's a noob too and may not fully understand how his NFT would be held in a different wallet than what is connected to his OS account. I don't understand the broker deal though and agree completely with you on the escrow as he describes it. It's such a good price on that horse that it's worth some brain damage to me to make sure it's bunk before I totally walk away. @SquishMitten- Digital Horse Racing (ZED & NFTs)
He's got an opensea account though - it's just totally empty. Maybe he just needs to connect Zed to opensea? @MonkeyDoughnut- Digital Horse Racing (ZED & NFTs)
I was able to make an unsolicited offer to the owner of the horse on Opensea. Agreed it's hard to believe. And why would Zed allow "brokers" to have control of who owns a horse? That seems to run contrary to everything the blockchain backbone is all about. Thanks for everyone's thoughts. I don't think there's any way I'd send funds around outside of the OS marketplace.- Digital Horse Racing (ZED & NFTs)
😂 He told me he's in North Carolina so it would be quite the drive. I'm thinking he got scammed, or he's a really good bullshitter. He was going to chat with the guy he bought the horse from and the broker and get back to me. We'll see if I ever hear anything from him. If that's all the fees are then I'll insist on doing it through Opensea and can bump up the offer to cover the fee - good idea. It's a good looking horse for sure, when I asked how much he wanted I was expecting at least double that.- Digital Horse Racing (ZED & NFTs)
Lulz. The whole - He gets the horse/you send the ETH/he sends you the horse feels skeezy af to me. Maybe this guy got scammed? I can't find anything online that says that Opensea is the end all/be all for who owns the horses.- Digital Horse Racing (ZED & NFTs)
