  1. We could just as easily be 1-4 as we could 5-0 this year. That’s Herman in a nutshell. We pay him to win those games, or better yet, win and leave no doubt. His saving grace is the he doesn’t get blown out like Mack did. Doesn’t make me feel any better about losses. Especially when they come against teams we are supposed to play our 3rd stringers in the 4th.
  2. If you got fired from a company you revitalized the brand for, wouldn’t you be pissed? Mack, for all his faults did take us to 2 title games and there should have been a 3rd. And we showed him the door because he was putting up the same results as Herman. I’d be bitter too.
  3. If we’re paying Tom for the season anyway, there’s no way CDC will let Herman go mid-season of a shortened COVID season.
  4. Anyone check Urban’s buyout from his analyst job at Fox?
  5. And? Throwing another TD on the board would do what for you? We were clearly going to win and we don’t need style points because we’re not sniffing any sort of playoff. The only people that care are the gamblers. WGAS what ou would do?
  6. Did you enjoy the selection of BBC? The erection selection?
  7. She owes money all over town, including to known pornographers.
  8. There is no Dana, there is only Zuul
  9. Their piss poor efforts on the field leading up to The Eyes is costing much more.
  10. The amount of chicken Chipotle considers a serving.
  11. He’ll come out of this with some sort of trophy.
  12. If only there was a way to avoid this conspiracy and vote via a mail ballot.
  13. Understood. I’m saying the optics of buying out a coach for losing 4 games and winning a lower tier bowl instead of using funds to pay administrative staff to save $13.1 million. https://www.kxan.com/sports-general/horns-report/ut-athletics-department-enacts-layoffs-furloughs-due-to-financial-strain-of-covid-19-pandemic/
  14. Mack won shit a few times. Backing into the Sugar Bowl because your rival made the CFP isn’t quite the same level of achievement. I do agree with you though. It would take a failure of epic proportions to have Herman fired this year. The only ripple in that is if Urban makes it clear that he wants the job, would take the job if Herman was let go and has a limited timetable for the offer before he explores other options. We recently laid off a shitload of UT employees. The optics of buying out a coach for making the Texas Bowl in a COVID year would be pretty bad. Not to mention, we are losing some funding for the stadium construction. This isn’t a Charlie situation where we end up with losing records. I half forgot that we barely beat KU last year.
  15. Why? It’s opinion piece that draws its own conclusions under the guise that Sam feels abandoned and isolated. It states that the locker room is divided and uses the EOT photo as evidence. Sam didn’t say anything remotely close to what is claimed, which is why very few quotes are cited. It’s also inaccurate. There were a couple of other players that stayed on the field after the game that aren’t shown in the now infamous photo.
  16. I do realize that. Perhaps you will realize that there is a difference between having a dialogue on how to change a culture and taking dictation like a hostage negotiator. This issue was supposedly put to bed after meetings with the administration. The players are entitled to their opinion. I am entitled to mine. If the goal is to have unity, the “submit or else” tactic isn’t effective. Many positive compromises were made to address legit concerns. You can take up for black people/players and call detractors racist all you want. Up until a few months ago, supporting the EoT wasn’t even a controversial issue. Go ring your “shame” bell somewhere else.
  17. The real world doesn’t have adversity. It continuously caters to your feelings and changes itself to fit your worldview. It would be a shame if we taught our college kids differently. You’re supposed to always get what you want. 18-22 year olds are society’s unsung heroes based on their wealth of experience and knowledge. In fact, if we were talking about the soccer team instead of the football team, no one would have even heard or cared about this issue. Amazing how a platform can dictate the message. I hope this issue can be put to bed soon so our team can focus on how to make a tackle or kick and extra point, as interesting as it is to hear their take.
  18. Sam is a very late round draft pick at best, but probably goes undrafted. Sam loves Texas, and is living his dream. He’s not going to have that same passion for the Miami Dolphins sitting on a bench or leading the practice squad. His throwing mechanics need a lot of work. Scrambling QBs don’t fare well in the faster paced NFL. I hope he moves on because it’s time to start letting the younger guys compete before they get antsy and transfer . But I can also see him staying in an effort to improve his draft stock. The NCAA granted him a reprieve. I’d take it.
  19. Miles got fired after winning a National Championship for LSU. Herman can’t even win the Big 12 in a year where everyone else is terrible. Turns out, we are the pack leaders in that group.
  20. The college elite have scandals. They have things to hide. Yet, they go out there and compete EVERY fucking year. Hell, Ohio St, Oklahoma and Florida have done it with a few different coaches. Why can’t we be those guys? 4-5 losses is a rebuilding year, not a standard. ou should be the only team that competes with us year in and year out in this shitty conference. Instead, we take the Michigan approach and keep our coach because he loves the University. We bend over and become our rival’s bitch on their way to more trophies. I watched Texas/ou in complete apathy while smoking a turkey. OT cost me some mashed potatoes. I’m usually in my seat 20 minutes before kickoff. Fuck Tom Herman and fuck ou
  21. Maybe it falls in the “we can fix it” bucket.
  22. We are in the middle of a pandemic where we are projected to lose $150 million. We have to pay Herman no matter what. What would be the upside of firing him mid-season? Our Offense is going to learn a new system on the fly and challenge for the conference? Even the best coach would struggle with mere days, not weeks, to install a completely new system. This isn’t the NFL where real $ is on the line and you fire a coach for going winless. We as fans are dumb enough to financially support it and make sure of that. When you look at the other side of the coin, Herman is 2 plays away from possibly being 4-0, as crazy as that sounds. We aren’t getting our shit pushed in. We find embarrassment in other areas.
  23. Texas needs an Urban development
