  1. That’s what we did I only use the service for “fun cars”. (Boxter And i8, thus far) With the fees, insurance and delivery hassle, it’s not worth it for your everyday rental. Yes, you can probably get a 3-series for the cost of that Malibu at Hertz. But I’m going to earn points on that rental, maintain status, have roadside assistance and my AMEX insurance is going to cover the damages if I get in a wreck. Plus I have peace of mind that I didn’t screw up another dude’s car just to save a few bucks on a 6 year old Beamer.
  2. Newport, RI and Block Island. You can combo it with Boston for a 2-fer
  3. Used it a few times. Never had an issue
  4. Stop playing. You know you don’t read.
  5. This. Hence my comparison to housewives. Teachers constantly martyr themselves for whatever reason. Ask any white collar worker if they think that they deserve more $ and have to put up with bureaucratic bullshit with their employer, clients and vendors.
  6. I'm not for or against it. I don't live in Texas, so it doesn't affect me in the slightest. My wife works and has for our entire 20 year marriage. It's the rhetoric that's tiring. $5,000 extra per year, minus taxes, is nothing. The education system isn't going to get any better, teachers are still going to beat the underpaid drum and the cycle continues. A blanket payment for every classroom teacher, shitty or great, is politics at its finest.
  7. I didn't say that Christians are bad people nor do I agree with the generalization that only Christians do good in this world.
  8. I would argue that religion is a cancer on our society that gives license to division, so yeah, the non-religious are pretty vocal about it. To claim any sort of persecution though? Nah, I'm not going to buy that one. Try being a non-Christian in the U.S. on for size.
  9. "Sometimes I work spring break. I work Christmas break. I work Thanksgiving break. I work summer break. I don't get to spend much time with my family," Caldwell said. "I have a bachelor's degree and master's and I still make not much more than a general manager at McDonald's." I get paid for 40 hours a week despite the fact that I can work 60 or 70 hours, including weekends and long stretches of travel. I knew the deal when I took the job, and if it doesn’t suit me, I am free to find another one. Being an adult is hard.Teachers are a step above SAHMs when bitching about this kind of thing.
  10. To a non-believer, all Christians ARE the same. You are putting unsubstantiated faith into a god when you appear to be, otherwise, a rational person. No amount of parsing of what denominations are more Christ-like will change that perception.
  11. The list begins and ends at Mumtaz in Richardson. Closest to Indian Take-Away in London that I've found.
  12. Unless Tarintino puts too many N-words in there. Then Spike Lee gonna Spike Lee
  13. Sounds like there were drops of Jupiter in her hair...hey, hey
  14. Yes. It’s titled “Girl dancing in class”
  15. No idea what you’re talking about. Neither does my wife of 20 years.
  16. Just saw this. 1. I went for work; 2. If The Bahamas move the needle, you seriously need to travel more. Lulz.
  17. It actually is hard because I can’t search Post stories without subscribing to read online and I’m not going to sift through twitter to find the original tweets. Let’s just stipulate that the WaPo spread the edited video on social media and they weren’t the only ones that did so. I read that there was another source for the video, so I’ll back off the claim that WaPo edited it.
  18. I’m not sure how I can explain it any clearer. I’m not talking about the lawsuit. The post I replied to, nor my replies, have anything to do with the filed lawsuit. We were talking journalistic practices and you brought the lawsuit into the discussion. He won’t win the lawsuit, nor should he.
  19. The post you quoted of mine was talking specifically about what was being reported. Same deal with Wildcat’s question. I can read the transcript if you’d like.
  20. Besides the edited video posted in their website and social media page that was cut from a much longer video? Yes, I do. Read their original story and see what was mentioned. Then watch the actual, uncut, video.
  21. That’s how lawsuits go, not credible reporting. Credible reporting would print the student’s side or state “The student referenced in this story declined to comment despite multiple attempts to reach him” or “The student has not yet been identified.” A credible story doesn’t edit a video to fit a narrative just because it will attract more eyes like yellow journalism. A credible story doesn’t print the name or high school of a minor. A credible paper doesn’t have two exclusive follow ups with the “victim” while knowingly printing a story that they know to be complete horseshit. (Or need to print a retraction on the “victim’s” published military service because they didn’t fact check.) They had the video of the black Muslim group harassing the students. Why wasn’t there a credible story published about that? It doesn’t fit the narrative because no one gives a shit about white teens wearing MAGA hats getting what they “deserve”.
  22. Bama Chick would have 1/3 of her rep if her username was Bama Dude. She’s the seasonal flavor.
  23. Did they report what occurred before the “stare down”? I believe they did. Completely inaccurately to get viewership, but they did none-the-less. Wouldn’t that substantiate a false narrative?
