  1. Either you're naive or you're being intentionally obtuse. Dark skin is all it would take.
  2. Perhaps. Let's make it more parallel: Suppose there was a minute or two of footage of a black kid standing directly in front of a white priest who was praying or reading from the bible, and the black kid was smirking arrogantly while a large crowd of black teenagers carried on behind him?
  3. Since we're doing hypotheticals, how about if the kids jumping around and shouting chants were black? I can guarantee that the word 'thug' would be thick in the air around Fox News and other right-wing media outlets, to start with. Agree or disagree?
  4. New shit has come to light?
  5. No paper plates to serve all that delicious food.
  6. Almost.... This gets closer. White people of a certain class have always been able to have a second chance after doing something stupid. At the same time they know (dimly) how the system treats people who step out of line and are not of the same class; darker-complected and less-resourced people get expelled from schools, beaten up or worse by the cops, sent to prison, fired from jobs, etc. But now the privileged white people see that their privilege is at risk; the Me Too movement, minorities asserting their rights, the general loss of status - they sense that they could soon be in the position of the lower classes, and lose their insulation from the consequences of their actions. They don't like that. All that aside, the only lesson to be gleaned from this whole stupid incident is that nobody should pay attention to anything on Twitter. Ever.
  7. Nah. That would be like beating up someone with ALS or Parkinson's; it's too easy, and they're suffering enough already.
  8. You've got a lot of work to do on your humblebrags.
  9. Except if it's just egg and cheese. Then it's ... egg and cheese. Covered in the second rule, except cheese is not a fucking 'extra,' got dammit.
  10. Stayed at an Aloft one time. No ice machine; you could go down to the front desk and ask for ice, and they'd bring you a paper cup full of ice. I mean, you even tell them the guy in the bathtub is going to bleed out before he wakes up unless you have more ice. Do they care? No, one paper cup of ice is all you get.
  11. My understanding of the keto flu, having gone through it once, is that it's a carb-withdrawal thing, and it happens before the ketosis kicks in. That is, you're not in ketosis yet, and you're not getting any energy from carbs, so you crash. If you're in ketosis, you should feel fine. Maybe you just got into ketosis fast, without any problems and skipped the flu - so congrats. Or I could be wrong about the whole thing. Some of y'all have obviously had a lot more experience with it than I have; am I full of shit? I do consume a lot of fiber.
  12. Yeah, like you didn't already....
  13. Was he the guy that tried to get ketchup classified as a vegetable?
  14. I just heat them up directly over the gas flame. Gives them a little bit of char. Or a lot, if you leave them on too long.
  15. Don't think I've ever said 'ma'am' in my life. The rare times I've said 'Yes, sir,' it's been ironic or sarcastic. Does that make me a bad person?
  16. Say what you want about Nancy, she's good at the game.
  17. Well, I hope you gave her a nice tip. Wait, what? I mean, I hope you didn't stiff her. Wait.... Never mind.
  18. People are actually denying that there are food deserts? They are absolutely a real thing. If I didn't have a car, it would be a serious pain in the ass to go to a grocery store, including mexican markets, and I don't live in BFE by any means. There are numerous fast food outlets much closer, but as many have pointed out, calories per dollar is a stupid way of measuring nutritional value.
  19. Well, it was actually your mom, but who's counting....
  20. Hat? I thought it was pants. Shit, been doing it wrong all these years.
  21. I haven't been in the Trump thread in over 6 months; just couldn't take it anymore. I may have to start avoiding other threads too. It's just not worth the effort.
  22. There are many people with cancer - maybe you don't know this, but it's true, they support the wall. I've had many, many people with HIV and cancer tell me that they can adapt, they are very resilient, and they understand the need for the wall. Believe me.
  23. Sounds like you've seen everything. You can leave now.
