  1. I think once you one way to Thailand, your field of fucks to give is officially barren.
  2. Yeah: think esophageal , stomach, and colon cancer, not lung cancer. I love bbq, but from a toxicology perspective, it should be enjoyed in moderation. Gas is also terrible for your air quality and most homes don’t have the necessary venting.
  3. Tar. Hella Good. Cate Blanchett is pretty much a lock to win the Best Actress.
  4. It often is in the court of public opinion in politics.
  5. Garland appointed a special counsel. Not seeing a link yet, but it's in my alerts.
  6. Well, it allows Garland to say "You can subpoena me all you want, but I can't legally talk about it, and I also don't know shit since it's a special counsel and I'm firewalled" as an out.
  7. Mostly Este. I'm not sure how big a deal it is until we know more about the process, nature of the documents, whatever. Biden has already acquitted himself better than Trump by cooperating, but still, Garland should probably appoint a Special Counsel. Which will also have the effect of keeping House Judiciary off his back. Because Trump did it first, regardless of seriousness, it takes away the breathless "IS THIS THE NEXT WATERGATE?!!!!" media coverage that Lewinsky, Benghazi, Clinton Servers, any 100 Trump scandals, creates. Instead, most people are probably going to file this in "Politicians gonna politician" folder.
  8. Omar coming
  9. I'm not sure William Munny is an anti-hero. I've always interpreted Unforgiven that all the characters, beyond possibly the cut up prostitute, are villain's at some level. His actions in the bar are absolutely morally wrong, even if they are deeply satisfying to watch. He's engaged in murder, and should be pursued. Shooting up the posse before they can track him down is not the action of an anti-hero, it's the behavior of a man unable to control his temper when drunk. Eastwood's point with Unforgiven is nobody was noble in the west, even as the wild part of it faded into the modern era. There were no good guys. Eastwood's career is all about the anti-hero. Unforgiven is his way of burying it.
  10. Este. Along with Florence Pugh, ATJ is my current favorite actor/actress rn. I enjoyed the movie very much. It wasn't perfect, and had a sort of ridiculous aspect to it, but in a way I found very entertaining.
  11. The problem with the Abrams is always going to be fuel consumption.
  12. Worn out artillery barrels if I had to guess, in addition to low ammunition stocks. Feels like German in late 1917. Just running out of gas. No wonder everyone is leaning on the German's so hard to release MBTs for re export. A break through is there for the taking.
  13. For whatever reason, I just kept catching Casino on TBS or USA a lot back in the day. It seemed like it was always on. I've seen that shoeless cowboy get thrown out it feels like 20 times.
  14. It’s weird, I’ve seen this movie exactly once. Probably at a dollar theater, 30 years ago. And never seen it again except the shoe shine scene a million times (kind of hard to avoid) But I’ve probably seen Casino at least 4-5 times, out of order, on cable.
  15. Or if Jermichael Finley and Jamaal Charles had stayed one more year.
  16. The Saints are eventually looking down the barrel of a rebuild. Yeah the division is terrible and they were close to winning more games then they lost, but that's a tallest dwarf contest if I ever saw one. Putting aside the annual cap space drama, the defense front 7 isn't getting any younger, they need to fix a couple of major holes on O-line, Kamara is beginning to show some wear on the tires. And that says nothing of the obvious QB problem they have. They'd be ecstatic if someone will sign Payton and give them a first round pick. Dennis Allen certainly isn't the answer. They were Charlie Strong dysfunctional all season. OTOH, Gayle Benson might be the least involved owner in the league.
  17. You guys wanna tl:Dr that longcat shit?
  18. That’s your home! Are you to good for your home?!!!!
  19. Sober oversight of the military left the building in the late fall of 2001. Raytheon lobbyist out front shoulda told ya.
  20. They also padded the NDAA with all sorts of authority to allow the administration to transfer weapons and order replacement equipment without having to come back to Congress.
  21. As much as we Stan for the Abrams, the Leopard 2 makes much more sense for the Ukrainians: it’s traditional diesel, and thus much easier on the fuel supply then the Abrams, which was designed to take advantage of the many pros of the turbine engine with the assumption NATO supply lines would be shortening as Cold War era armies fell back towards the Fulda Gap. I suspect that’s the endgame with all these arms sales to Poland: allow them to transfer their Leopards to Ukraine, once the Germans sign off. I’d be shocked if the Ukrainians aren’t already being trained up now. And all of that can be done outside of a congressional authorization, since Poland is buying the Abrams.
  22. We are too smart to do the smart thing.
  23. My cousin went to Eastern Michigan, so this hits close to home.
  24. My oldest son saved my younger off the the Jersey shore a couple of years ago. They are both lifeguards too. Glad it wasn’t me, I can barely swim.
