  1. Omg. You’d make a great OSU fan.
  2. Patience Grasshopper. It’ll come around. Not today, of course. But eventually.
  3. Well, you know, they’re pretty good. I’m happy to be up 7 on them.
  4. If this season was worth a shit and any of us felt like actually discussing the game play, that decision could have taken up a page or two. There were plusses and minuses each way, but in the end, I was buying Tyler's argument. Cody basically put his game on the line hoping Nicole and Enzo would beat Memphis and Xmas in the HOH. Memphis has been pretty good in comps and apparently Xmas in a comp beast (lol). Nicole and Enzo have been awful all season. I did not like his odds, but it somehow worked out for him.
  5. I'm thinking that's what happened. Or all those guys talking shit about him in the preview of the season were on to something and she gave him the boot. Either way, I can't imagine they are still together and I don't know if it's been 2 days, 2 weeks, or 2 months since they left the show.
  6. Well now you're just being argumentative. Baseball has always been changing? Jesus Christ. It's barely changed at all since the 1920s. Better equipment, nutrition, training, and all that changed. What went on between the lines barely budged and what movement there was wasn't very hard to keep up with. The introduction of analytics to baseball was the most earth shaking change to how the game is played that's ever happened to baseball. If you're going to try to tell me Ricky & Weaver's dedication to analytics was even a fraction of what we are seeing now, you're just being a contrarian for the sake of fun. At best, they dipped their toes in it. Hell, the didn't have access to computers in those days, so I don't even know how that would work. Lots of nights bent over a poorly lit desk with scorecards and a handful of #2 pencils is the best I could imagine. Earl liked to play small ball, but it helped to have a pitching staff of Palmer, Cueller, McNally, and one other guy I can't recall (Dobson maybe?). Just like the A's of Hudson, Zito, and one other guy I can't recall right now (Mulder maybe?) was why money ball was successful. By the way, I guarantee Joe respected Earl and Ricky's baseball knowledge. They're baseball men and not "computer nerds" who never played the game. In other words, your entire post was full of bullshit and cheap unfounded shots. Be fair at least and don't stretch the truth.
  7. That’s probably why he was out of the announcing biz by 2010. The game changed and didn’t change with it. Doesn’t make him a shitty announcer any more than the end of his career made Tom Landry a shitty football coach.
  8. I don’t know who Corby is, but his story is a lot different and better than mine. I heard she ran off with Dale (FYC lead singer look alike) after 2 weeks and that’s all I knew. If she’s living with a completely non show related dude in Austin now, we’ll that’s actually par for the course. I imagine her and Dale broke up almost immediately.
  9. Believe me, when it comes to Joe Morgan and his anti-analytics stance, you could sit here and bring me new information every 15 minutes for the next two days. That point has been conceded. It still doesn't explain why people think he was a shitty announcer. Actually, everything you've brought to my attention explained it perfectly. So I'm all good here. Thanks for the help.
  10. I thought I heard she ran off with the lead singer of Fine Young Cannibals after about two weeks. From the previews, it looks like she packed a lot of drama into two weeks. Though I bet 80% of the drama popped up after they all found out she was dumping them all. I imagine once Taysha shows up, they'll suddenly be cool with it.
  11. If you don't think those are two of the most idiotic paragraphs you've ever read, I don't know what to tell you. I don’t get it You’re acting like you’re bringing me new information. Joe hated the analytics. To a fault. It still doesn’t make him any less of an announcer or change the fact that his baseball IQ was as high as anyone ever involved in the game. It just proves he’s a stubborn ass old schooler who wasn’t interested in fancy new technologies and approached. Oh shit! Alert the press! Old man is resistant to technology and change!
  12. Joe didn't care who wrote Moneyball. Joe was old school to a fault the last line is laughable
  13. I got through about 80% of the article and it’s pretty obvious The writer and anybody in favor of analytics hated Joe. Joe didn’t seem to like them either. Joe was old school, as are most guys from his era. So he wasn’t an analytics guy. Old timers don’t like seeing the game change and will fight against change, even if they’re wrong. Overall, Joe wasn’t wrong. Of all the changes baseball needed to make to modernize, analytics was the fucking worst. I don’t really care if some of that shit increased your odds of winning by 4%. Baseball is boring and unwatchable now. All K’s and HRs. It was not like that in Joe’s heyday. Joe has more baseball smarts than anyone I’ve ever heard about. He was a very good announcer until he got older and waged his war on analytics. Probably because he was smart enough to see this style of baseball would ruin it. And he was correct. to;dr Joe was the greatest 2B of all time. Joe was an excellent announcer. Joe pissed off the analytics guys (the internet) and they decided he was a terrible announcer based solely on that.
  14. Not off to a good start. First paragraph and it’s obvious he hates Joe and loves analytics. I’ll keep reading though.
  15. So is this why some people think he was a terrible announcer? I've never really understood that because when you get away from the internet, I think he's generally regarded as a really good announcer.
  16. Man this sucks. I was 6-16 during the 70's, so this was my era. Losing Seaver, Gibson, and Brock was shitty. Loved those guys. But Joe was my guy. My favorite player of all-time from the age of 8 until now. I gots a bit of the sadz right now. Side note - I finally got to make my pilgrimage to the Baseball Hall of Fame a few years ago. Every day the tickets will have a picture of a HOFer on them and it changes everyday. The day I finally achieved my life long dream on visiting the HOF, the HOFer on the tickets that day was Joe Morgan. Kind of freaked me out a little.
  17. Go Pokes

    Beat OU

OU is currently on their longest national championship drought since 1950. SO that's kind of nice.
  18. My first thought when I saw this thread at the top was "goddammit Jeff. I'm having a good day and now you're about to ruin it". I think it's safe to say we have issues
  19. I thought the same thing. I read all these comments saying how great Shia LaBeouf was and I just found him annoying. He actually ruined it for me and made me turn it off.
  20. This is one of my favorite movies and for the life of me, I cannot figure out where this movie drags. Care to enlighten me? If I had to guess, it was during the time Nigel left the band. If so, I respectfully disagree.
  21. Go Pokes

    OU at ISU

ISU/OSU Big XII championship is a cream dream.
  22. It’s only Fall so he’s got the Spring to get right. Today went poorly for him. Gupta best the shit out if him today, 6&5.
  23. I'm going to admit something that should embarrass me, but doesn't. I'm enjoying Love Island infinitely more than this piece of shit. I'm going to step up the pressure on my wife to drop this show from our repertoire permanently.
