  1. I hope you're getting the vaccine first. Not because it hurts that badly, but because the drugs they give you will make it impossible to do anything else productive that day.
  2. Got mine today through APH at the Delco Activity Center. Was a better a operation than I anticipated. The lights were on and everything! Good luck.. Wife pulled number 3600 something tonight and just made it in for one of tomorrow's 3100 shots. Makes you wonder what happened to the 500+ people in front of her, but having gotten through the process twice now (for my first and hers) I could see how easily someone could screw up after it's their turn to schedule.
  3. I got lucky number 2800 in the queue and just got home from my first Moderna shot at Delco Activity Center. It was a much smoother, quicker, and well-run operation than I anticipated. They opened the doors up at 10 sharp and I had the shot by 10:15. Wife pulled number 7k something in the queue, so no dice yet.
  4. My 200 series LC (2013) was a life saver in this bullshit weather. Wife has been skeptical of keeping it long term as a daily, esp. since we could get so much for it these days. That of course all changed when I was able to secure a large quantity of chardonnay from the lone open liquor store in the area.
  5. I am in 78759, found a couple of untreated 8' 2x4's in the garage this afternoon. Have a 4WD. We have power so I could cut it up or bring it as-is before dark or in the morning. Also, NW Hills liquor on Far West is open today.
  6. If you have Instagram, this guy is a good follow for steam locomotives: https://www.instagram.com/the_pennsy_guy/ No sure where he gets his photographs but they're interesting and have historical info as well.
  7. I enjoy the hobby, have a bunch of Lionel O Scale post-war locomotives, stock, and accessories (icing station, coal station, signal house, etc.) from the late 40's through 50's (my dad and his sister's when they were kids), then some from late 90's when I was a kid building a layout with my dad. Still get them out every year around Christmas for my kids (FOR THE KIDS!!) and add a little to collection each year. Painted my 1940's 675 Loco and coal tender burnt orange and white this year along with one of the cabooses. Still hope to have a train room one day. New stuff is pricey though. /CSB Depending on where you live, craigslist may be a good option to sell it all in one go.
  8. The real Slim Thug and the boss hogg outlawzzzz?
  9. Nice work Dr. Assman. Looking forward to seeing the progress.
  10. I would suspect her comment was intended to mean "no one would take the contractor's case if he wanted to follow through with his threats of litigation for defamation." Or if you're talking about 'you pursuing the contractor for $1000,' then the statement would apply to you too. And she may be right for attorneys working on contingency. But you can find lawyers on both sides to fight most anything on an hourly basis. I would take it a bit more seriously than it sounds like you are... and you may want to speak to a practicing attorney (wtf is mom time, btw?)..
  11. Anyone have a muffler/exhaust shop recommendation for North Austin? Thanks in advance.
  12. You could also request that the people you're scamming sign a blank piece of paper and take a picture of it and email it to you. Adobe would easily pull it off that image file.
  13. Adobe can pull the signature off of a scan with a transparent background. You can use MS Paint to erase lines/text from signature image.
  14. I got 16 boxes of these C9's from Amazon (Wintergreen Lighting) before last year. After being put up and packed and stored for a year and put up again, not a single bulb is out. Only a handful of the little gutter clips failed but easily fixed with paperclip. It appears they sell a blue version of what I have. This seller/company also sells "commercial grade" lights for 3x the price. Maybe they will go down after the holidays. But in my limited experience buying 'commercial grade' lights (mini bulbs) they're no better than regular. https://www.amazon.com/Faceted-White-Prelamped-Light-Green/dp/B00EZ549BW?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1
  15. My 92 BMW 318iC still runs like a top and drives great at 113k miles. Would recommend them.
  16. Have yall seen this yet? New company started by some UT grads, invented a process that lets you do Gyotaku prints of your fish without the ink/paint. Saw it on 9.95 forum thought i'd share here. Looks pretty sweet. https://www.thepaperfin.com/
  17. Does this trick work for car audio speakers as well? Have a couple small tweeter speakers up by the dash of an old project car that have never worked for me (in addition to one other speaker). All speakers were re-wired for a new head unit at some point and there's a bird nest of shit in the dash so I figure i've got nothing to lose.
  18. This.. known as banana spiders round these here parts
  19. Good call on the plastic model building vs. trains.. model trains are not only space consuming but also damn expensive now, good lord. I have a large O-scale set that originally was my dad's when he was a kid in the 50's, i got it in the 90's and we started growing collection again and set up a train room once my older siblings began moving off to college. Now i've got the whole collection in set of large boxes and get them out around christmas every year for my kids. And every time without fail I think I can get back into it again and start looking to buy stuff.. and then it hits me that a locomotive is $600+ for a decent one, a box car is $100 and everything is run on new tracks now with Wifi and blutooth, etc. And i need to put my kids through college so... /csb
