  1. Shower mats or whatever. Not an 18th century tapestries. A rug can really hold a room together though…
  2. Nephew is two and the fam came over for the Super Bowl. He started eating grapes. Loved them. Kept eating them. At one point he took the bag and went into another room. I tell his parents. They aren’t concerned as he is now potty trained. About 2 minutes left in the game and nephew goes to pee. At the same time went firehose diarrhea out the back end and all over our rugs. Quite the scene ensued.
  3. Sorry. It’s Worldle.teuteuf.fr
  4. My wife is a masters educated woman. Two undergrad degrees. She’s pretty smart. Like most women, she’s really geographically challenged. So there’s a game on the interwebs called Worldle. It give you an outline of a country and you guess what it is. Then they tell you how far you are away and what direction to go. Yesterday was Nepal. I somehow got it on the third guess. After three guesses, she says “Give me a hint”. So, I said “Mount Everest is there”. She says “DENMARK?! Oh wait is Denmark a town or Country?!” So now she’s looking up flights to the town of Denmark.
  5. You all need to try Worldle. They show you an outline of a country. You guess. They tell you how far away you are and what direction away. Daily with my geographically challenged wife is hysterical. worlde.teuteuf.fr
  6. One of the tougher words today. Struggle bus for me that took me 5
  7. @Al_4_ISU did you go to American Aquarium in Davenport? They put on a hell of show.
  8. Love DeLuca’s. Also love pounding cheep beer and eating “Chicago Style” and I use that term loosely at Rocky’s Corner. Right across from the race track.
  9. Has Pat Green been mentioned? Anything before Wave on Wave is golden.
  10. And pray Covid doesn’t cancel the trip
  11. Thanks. It’s a renewal. I think I’ll just roll the dice and do regular.
  12. I’m going go to Ireland in mid may. Should i do the expedited or should I be ok?
  13. Going to Ireland in mid may. 14 weeks. Should i do the rush or should I be ok?
  14. Jesus. I didn’t know Rowe was that fast. His offer list should be better. Kanak’s might be the best I’ve seen for not being a Rivals Top 250 kid
  15. Apparently Kanak ran a 4.38 and benched 275 10 times on his initial testing. Thats flying for 6'2" 220.
  16. My grandfather had a custom pair of Tony Lamas from about 1950. My grandmother gave them to my cousins dipshit husband. They get divorced. She doesn’t get them back. Grandmother is distraught that they aren’t in the family, and she passes away. Randomly run into cousin’s ex and ask if he still had them and I’d buy them from him. Still had them and gave them back to me for free. So he’s not a dipshit in my mind anymore and i have some pretty sweet custom Tony Lamas. Grandmother would very pleased.
  17. Saw him in Norman at the Lloyd Noble Center (what a shithole) with Jackson Browne when I was in high school. Jackson Browne is criminally underrated. He plays a great set. The lights go out. All of a sudden a spotlight is on the stage and there's a big box in the middle of the stage. Petty enters the spotlight, opens the box, pulls out his hat and lights come on and they blast "American Girl". I get goosebumps thinking about it. Saw him in OKC about a month before he died. Remember thinking he didn't look great. But what really stood out was how much fun he was having. He had the crowd in the palm of his hand. Played for 2.5 hours and never stopped smiling. Still sounded great.
  18. Ya. I’ve heard. Just really cheap that time of year and trying to fit in a 4th trip is tough.
  19. I can’t seem to figure out how to edit my thread in Hobbies
  20. Anyone booked any trips for the year? This is going to be a busy one for me as long as Covid doesn’t mess with it. SW Ireland in mid May Sand Hills/Prairie Club/Landmand in early July May have a Pine Valley invite in late July. St. George in October: Sand Hollow, Entrada, etc. Trying to work in Streamsong in June but I don’t know if the wife will allow.
  21. Good get by Venables. Kid can fly.
  22. My pettiness level wants me to send her a McDonald’s gift card for Christmas
  23. I’m about done with trying to please both my parents and mother in law on each holiday. As mentioned above, MIL is the morbidly obese ex-school teacher who lives alone a couple hours away. She LOVES the Lutheran church. Plays the organ every week. It’s basically her only time out of the house other than the grocery store and fast food. My wife, a saint, talks to lonely MIL every night on the phone, often on speakerphone. Christmas is my families this year. So generally we go down a Christmas Eve and come back home and MIL comes down for Christmas dinner and stays a couple of days. Well now, since she doesn’t think she can sit in the car for two hours (she’s driven this regularly in the past year) and she’s the one the has plans (playing church services that she volunteers for), we should cater to her and drive the 5 hours from my parents to her. She’s playing the woe is me “I guess I’ll have McDonalds for Christmas” card and “I guess I won’t even decorate because nobody will come see it”. We were just there for Thanksgiving Eve and Thanksgiving. I don’t want to give in. My parents generally wouldn’t care, as they are rational, kind humans. I just don’t want to cater to the MIL’s demands over things she can fix. She can lose weight. She’s capable of driving. She can not play the day after church service. We are both only children with no kids of our own and I know it makes us flexible but god damn.
  24. Saving Country Music has an article up. Prepare to get your hopes up.
  25. I’m tempted to go to Kyle Nix and the 38s and RC and the Ambers at Cain‘s next week just to see if Evan shows.
