  1. Feels a lot like Bart Whitaker. I still can’t believe Abbott commuted his death sentence.
  2. I had a lot of dollars on Floyd, too. Exact same feeling. You know he’s going to win but your mind just keeps going through the nightmare scenarios.
  3. Just got back from a guys trip out to St. George/Mesquite. Couldn’t recommend it more. Stayed at the Inn at Entrada. Great place. For the golf: Saturday- Played Entrada. It’s really nice and 15-17 are some of the more scenic holes I’ve ever played. sunday: played Conestoga in Mesquite first. Pretty nice, pace of play was awful. Almost 5:30 hours. Then we went to Wolf Creek. It’s one of the more visually stunning places I’ve played. Also took a long time but there are crazy hikes to the back tees. They make you sign a waiver for the cart because the drive is so severe. 5 people have died driving out there. I probably wouldn’t do it again but it was worth playing once. Monday: Sky Mountain in the morning. They started us on the back. And the good holes out there are 16-18. We played 9 and bounced to Sand Hallow. Played all 27 there. Phenomenal. Great golf. Fantastic scenery. Nice club house. tuesday: Coyote Springs. It’s so far out in the middle of nowhere that i have no clue what town it is. But it was awesome, too. Pace of play was brutal there as well. Overall, great trip. Fun golf. Relatively cheap. Played 6 rounds and had a really nice house for 3 nights for 975 dollars. Booked it through www.stgeorgeutahgolf.com Brian couldn’t have been easier to work with.
  4. Nobu Hotel in Caesar’s is so nice. Really quiet. Great service. And Nobu and Mesa Grill are within 100 feet of the entrance. I was really impressed.
  5. I highly recommend Detroit: An American Autopsy by Charlie LeDuff. It’s so damn good.
  6. Staying at Entrada. Playing there, Sand Hollow, Sky Mountain, Wolf Creek in Mesquite, Conestoga in Mesquite, and coyote springs.
  7. And he still faces charges in Oklahoma
  8. And now my expectations are significantly lowered.
  9. That’s disappointing. I saw that St. George is one of the fastest growing places in the country. I assumed that would mean the food scene would be good. We are playing in Mesquite one day, so we will hit up Katherine’s.
  10. The Barbacoa con Huevos dish at Cafe Pasqual’s might be the best thing I have ever eaten. It’s a small place, so the wait could be long. It’s worth it though.
  11. The bar area at the downtown Mahogany in OKC is awesome. Breakfast: Nic’s Waffle Champion Hatch Neighborhood Jam Lunch: Nic’s Tuckers Empire Slice House Cafe Kacoa Dinner: Cheevers Mahogany The Press Sushi Neko Goro Ramen (unbelievably good)
  12. Going on a golf trip this weekend in St. George/Mesquite. Any restaurant recommendations? Do they still have the horrible liquor laws?
  13. I boxed a $1 superfecta of Justified, My Boy Jack, Good Magic, and Magnum Moon.
  14. Beer league softball. Our right fielder had never played before this particular season. 2nd game of the season, a towering fly ball is hit to right. He actually takes a really good line for it and gets right underneath it. Does everything but catch it. The ball hits him straight on the right eye. Fractured orbital bone. Blood everywhere. It made the sickest hollow sound.
  15. Thanks. I’ve done Cane Rosso and it’s great. I was considering Pecan Lodge, just didn’t know if it would be crazy busy. Braindead Brewpup looks great, too.
  16. Got roped into the Trailer Park Boys on Saturday at the Majestic Theatre. Where should I go eat close to there?
  17. I saw a tweet where Vegas had Knox as -140. He’s crazy good out there.
  18. Wait, did the guy die of natural causes? OD? That’s a crazy damn story regardless. Can’t wait to hear the mom’s story once she gets off her bender.
  19. Definitely felt like i left some out there, but when you get down to it, I definitely make some putts that were definitely far from certain, so it all probably evened out. I hit every green and maybe missed one fairway. Golf is a weird, weird game. The days you hit it well, it seems to be the days you don’t putt as well and vice versa. Rarely does everything align.
  20. One 59 at a 6100 yard, par 70 track. A couple 61s. Those were years ago. Still shoot under par relatively often but don’t get to play or practice enough to shoot anything too low anymore. Need to get the handicap up to member guest standards soon though.
  21. Why the Reds are running Homer Bailey out on opening day instead of Castillo is beyond me.
