  1. If you believe that that is where this is headed, there are market bets you can make that will secure a very comfortable retirement for you and throw off cash starting tomorrow. Let us know what positions you take.
  2. In God and Warren Buffet I trust. Everyone else can get a fucking hedge with the quickness.
  3. They sit on the sideline during periods of high volatility and whine on the internet?
  4. Also buying some stonks (IBRX).
  5. Agree. We're back to last Thursday level. I am existing SPY equity positions and just gonna ride July and Sept calls. Buying more BRK and dividend payers.
  6. Hey, there is always the world war backstop.
  7. Nor was the last. Look best against it at your own peril. We are seeing market action where 30 minutes of movement reflects months in a normal environment. Make money on the volatility. But get long over longer term, imo.
  8. Every single "crisis" has worked out to the upside with sufficient time horizon. The backstops are monetary policy and aircraft carriers. But maybe this time is different.
  9. Same place we were before that rally into close.
  10. Seems like a problem. We also have substantial dependency on china for our pharmaceutical supply chain. Like some of the real basics eg antibiotics. We need to return production capacity to Americans shores.
  11. Right, so those are just hedges and not just naked directional bets. You are effectively straddled at the risk of missing some upside, which in current environment makes 100% sense.
  12. Yeah. Picked up some sept calls into close on Friday. Dumped a portion today to take some money off the table. Riding the rest out. Put a gun to my head and I think we could see a couple more big upsides runs in that time frame (nothing this magnitude of course). Agree with this. I think directional plays are going to win only with a measure of luck involved due to the unpredictability. I think that a smarter position than the one I staked out at the end of last week is to straddle and sell off the wins on "both sides". If we can claw back to something like SPY 580-600 by the end of the summer I will probably take that up.
  13. Can't imagine how crushing it is to people that exited yesterday.
  14. SPY closes +9.5%. Hell of a ride today fellas.
  15. Eesh, that sucks man. Been there on the other side of that coin though. I had vix calls and spy puts Feb 2020 and sold them way too early. This shit is a funny game. The dopamine hits doh.

  17. I just assume you are all GenX for the most part. Unless the poster is a constant whiner.
  18. I like dopamine. Hedge funds blowing up?
  19. If you are up over 50% in your trading account this week, maybe go to cash and call it a day?
  20. Should focus on deporting the people that don't return their shopping cart to the stalls at HEB, without regard their immigration/naturalization/birth status. Put them in Gitmo or El Salvador. I care not which.
  21. Yeah, wish I had more information on the provenance. It came out of my step mothers fathers collection. He was a tank operator in WWII, and had from what I understand pretty tough POW experience. Post war started a business in Texas and did pretty well for himself. Had a hell of a gun collection. Never met him myself, he had passed before things got real. But an early childhood memory was the distribution of his gun collection among his heirs some years after his death. Just room after room filled with guns with tags on them. A few that imprinted were tommy guns, serious colts, and the 1911s. I ended up with a couple of them in various later pass down giftings. Some of the frankly lower tier stuff in the grand scheme of the collection, but some of my most cherished firearms. I have the old beater shot through 1100s from my dads father. And a stack of vintage playboy mags from my moms father. God bless that man I never met and whose firearms his unknown great and great great grand children will hopefully also cherish.
  22. So the sub 4 10Y window seems to have passed. Is there any evidence that we ran any aspect of the refinance play during that window?
