  1. You are in the right place.
  2. I thought that my kitchen was kinda depressing and dated even after a mild remodel. That one makes me want to slit my own throat.
  3. https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2024/03/06/us-weapons-israel-gaza/ The United States has quietly approved and delivered more than 100 separate foreign military sales to Israel since the Gaza war began Oct. 7, amounting to thousands of precision-guided munitions, small-diameter bombs, bunker busters, small arms and other lethal aid, U.S. officials told members of Congress in a recent classified briefing. The triple-digit figure, which has not been previously reported, is the latest indication of Washington’s extensive involvement in the polarizing five-month conflict even as top U.S. officials and lawmakers increasingly express deep reservations about Israel’s military tactics in a campaign that has killed more than 30,000 people, according to Gaza’s health authorities. … What is clear is Washington’s deep involvement in the conflict, even if it isn’t the entity dropping the munitions or pulling the trigger, said Konyndyk, the former administration official. “The U.S. cannot maintain that, on the one hand, Israel is a sovereign state that’s making its own decisions and we’re not going to second-guess them, and, on the other hand, transfer this level of armament in such a short time and somehow act as if we are not directly involved,” he said.
  4. While we are on this suppressor talk, anyone want to do a shot and tell with your suppressed bolt action hunting rifles. I feel an itch.
  5. If only there was something novel and substantive to discuss. I guess we are going to build a pier though. So we have that on the table. I know the last five months have been gut-wrenching for so many people, for the Israeli people, the Palestinian people, and so many here in America. This crisis began on October 7th with a massacre by the terrorist group Hamas. 1,200 innocent people women and girls men and boys slaughtered, many enduring sexual violence. The deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust. 250 hostages taken. Here in the chamber tonight are American families whose loved ones are still being held by Hamas. I pledge to all the families that we will not rest until we bring their loved ones home. We will also work around the clock to bring home Evan and Paul, Americans being unjustly detained all around the world. Israel has a right to go after Hamas. Hamas could end this conflict today by releasing the hostages, laying down arms, and surrendering those responsible for October 7th. Israel has an added burden because Hamas hides and operates among the civilian population. But Israel also has a fundamental responsibility to protect innocent civilians in Gaza. This war has taken a greater toll on innocent civilians than all previous wars in Gaza combined. More than 30,000 Palestinians have been killed. Most of whom are not Hamas. Thousands and thousands are innocent women and children. Girls and boys also orphaned. Nearly 2 million more Palestinians under bombardment or displaced. Homes destroyed, neighborhoods in rubble, cities in ruin. Families without food, water, medicine. It’s heartbreaking. We’ve been working non-stop to establish an immediate ceasefire that would last for at least six weeks. It would get the hostages home, ease the intolerable humanitarian crisis, and build toward something more enduring. The United States has been leading international efforts to get more humanitarian assistance into Gaza. Tonight, I’m directing the U.S. military to lead an emergency mission to establish a temporary pier in the Mediterranean on the Gaza coast that can receive large ships carrying food, water, medicine and temporary shelters. No U.S. boots will be on the ground. This temporary pier would enable a massive increase in the amount of humanitarian assistance getting into Gaza every day. But Israel must also do its part. Israel must allow more aid into Gaza and ensure that humanitarian workers aren’t caught in the cross fire. To the leadership of Israel I say this. Humanitarian assistance cannot be a secondary consideration or a bargaining chip. Protecting and saving innocent lives has to be a priority. As we look to the future, the only real solution is a two-state solution. I say this as a lifelong supporter of Israel and the only American president to visit Israel in wartime. There is no other path that guarantees Israel’s security and democracy. There is no other path that guarantees Palestinians can live with peace and dignity. There is no other path that guarantees peace between Israel and all of its Arab neighbors, including Saudi Arabia. Creating stability in the Middle East also means containing the threat posed by Iran. That’s why I built a coalition of more than a dozen countries to defend international shipping and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea. I’ve ordered strikes to degrade Houthi capabilities and defend U.S. Forces in the region. As Commander in Chief, I will not hesitate to direct further measures to protect our people and military personnel.
  6. Seemed like the only times he wavered was when they jumped in to derail. May not bode well for debates, but I also think that there is basically close to zero chance that any debates go off.
  7. Uh, more likely there was a diaper involved. That's not a dig, that is just real life dealing with 80+ year olds;
  8. How many seconds were spent on that topic?
  9. I think I gave it a fair hearing in context.
  10. Moved on from American funded and armed genocide pretty quickly.

  16. Why is he even engaging in discussion with her? Just move right along.
  17. I just certified a eform 4 submission today on a trust. Last time it was like 11 months. I would be elated to see that thing clear in a couple months, but am expecting the long wait.
  18. pOuTInE tAlkInG pOiNts!!21!. Happy that you are able to get greater use of that one, but it is not in any way a reflection of a shift in my caring. Jesus Christ, we've be discussing Israel, settlements, and American policy wrt Israel on the political boards for ever. This thread is young and it is nearly 6 years old. I do realize that you just tuned in to the discussion though.
  19. And some former republicans that just can’t shake their bad habits despite their political realignment.
  20. There is a nonzero number of Americans that refuse to learn from their own lived experience. They just want to fall for the same tried propaganda artistry over and over again.
  21. Sorry, it would have been late 2002 and early 2003.
