  1. He hasn't been under pressure all year Hank and he still has been the same. Or are you forgetting that?
  2. Wingo is a generally low effort receiver. Year 3 and dude still has zero 50/50 ball catches. He loses every time. Arch thew him a perfectly winnable 50/50 ball that he made little effort on and luckily got bailed out cause the receiver didnt get his heard around. Go get the ball Wingo.
  3. That would be valid if we didnt have film of him throwing when hadtime also right? We do have that film too right?
  4. Dude. Attacking the interior gaps while not rushing past quarterback depth so they dont escape out the sides is and has been standard operating procedure for running quarterbacks all our lives. The LG and the C suck but their numbers are even worse because thats where our opponents are sending the extra bodies. Every opponent from here on out is going to try and keep Arch in the pocket. As they should. Its not rocket science.
  5. Attacking the interior gaps vs a highly mobile QB is pretty standard operating procedure. They would've done the same last year too.
  6. I personally think Wingo is pretty trash and wish we would stop targeting him as much. Said the same last year.
  7. Does Golden get a 1st round grade if he stays in Houston yes or no?
  8. You are right. None of our current linemen will be playing in the NFL when they are done here right?
  9. Golden has good track speed but not good football speed. You understand the difference right? Neither did Mitchell who ran a 4.35. Some guys have good track technique that shows on a stopwatch but get caught from behind with the pads on. I dont even know why I have to explain this to you its been a thing since inception. So it matters who is throwing it to you then right? I didnt say that I said he wasn't holding them back.
  10. I say some dumb shit? Then you literally say dumb shit like it doesn't matter who is throwing to you? It absolutely matters. Not only does it matter who is throwing to you it matters where you play. Look at what schools all the 1st rounders come from. Now look at all the places the shouldve been 1st rounders come from. You know, the dudes with crazy skills but got overlooked. Golden doubled his receiving output coming here. He doesn't get 1st round if he stays in Houston.
  11. The fuck? You absolutely can train and run a fast 40. What is wrong with you? Plenty of players go to facilities specifically meant to train you for combine times. My cousin owned one in Arizona. My cousin, Thomas Lewis from Akron Garfield high school, who played at Indiana and was drafted 1st round, 24th pick to the Giants because he ran a 4.29 at his pro day, will tell you players train all the time specifically to increase there 40 times. In fact players will stay at these facilities for a solid month to prepare.
  12. Lol. Golden came to Texas and doubled his previous productivity. He is the perfect example. He doesn't come close to sniffing the 1st round if Quinn isnt throwing him balls.
  13. Golden worked hard with a trainer to get his 40 time down but he isnt some remarkable receiver. He is a try hard. I commend him for that but thats what he is. Had he never come to Texas he doesn't go in the 1st round. Jeremiah Smith is a 1st rounder if he played for Kentucky. Big. Fast. Eye popping catches. In my lifetime we've had one receiver like that and he was a headcase. Texas has been underwhelming all my life offensively. Quinn helped get Golden a 1st round tag. He didnt hold him back.
  14. We weren't as loaded on offense as you think Derka. Matter of fact we've never been loaded on offense. We've had an actual piece here or there but most of the guys drafted on offense from Texas have basically been on hype. You wanna see loaded look at Ohio State. Thats loaded.
  15. Antonio Brown was a 6th round draft pick Brown.
  16. Nope. I think @BurntOrange&White is just irritated at the hypocrisy on this thread. Its well documented that he spent all last season calling Quinn a pussy and stood on business about it. So now when he says Arch is also lacking I can respect that because he was equally critical of Quinn. However, I am sure what he is irritated about is the same people who were blaming Quinn everytime the line missed a block or blaming him for the lack of a running game are now blaming those things for Arch's poor play. Its as obvious as day.
  17. Golden is expected to come in and have an immediate impact as a first rounder. Helm is present and thats the most you can say. No one is outperforming what they showed in college or even close to it. Thats what you see elsewhere. Receiver at some mid level school gets drafted and its obvious that he just wasnt getting the ball like that in school. Antonio Brown or Greg Jennings come to mind. If your receivers are getting drafted and then are largely meh at the next level then your QB is doing a good job of boosting their appeal. Not the other way around.
  18. You mean how we are basing Manning being good by his play vs the two worst football teams we played last year?
  19. I have stated I do not want Arch replaced, but seeing Caldwell come in and get the ball out significantly faster without issue behind the same offensive line tells me that this line isnt as bad as we think it is.
  20. The funny thing about @Derka and guys like him claiming Ewers was holding the team back is where is the proof? No one here was being held back by Ewers. In fact, one can say only Worthy is even living up to their draft position, with Golden still having a chance. Obviously Bond's situation is tough, but its not like any of these other dudes are killing it in the league.
  21. Its like @Derka doesn't even listen to the coach. Sark told us years ago how he calls games and the whole Sark loop. He explained how he uses the run game to get the second level to react then he RPO's them. Then when the safeties walk down to deal with the RPO he hits them over the top. So basically Sark is telling us he coaches by the numbers. Wherever he has a numbers advantage he looks to exploit it. So it should be self explanatory that if Sark sees Kentucky, a team that plays primarily zone, basically playing man coverage all game with extra bodies in the run game he is going to try and exploit that with mesh concepts and man beaters. He did that but we couldn't hit the receivers. So when we see Sark abandon the run just look at what the defense is doing for an answer why. OU wasn't doing that so of course we ran a different gameplan
  22. You have no idea what you are talking about on this post.
  23. I mean if I were Sark I would be rotating RBs and receivers. Both to get experience and keep the pitch count low. Plus it helps to keep them locked in and feeling like their next up. But thats just me.
  24. Stop it. You know what I mean. The slow processing was there in that game too, its just MSU has a shitty front 7. When you are throwing crossing routes on the other side of the field thats slow processing. The throw to Moore where he just stepped out before the end zone. You have to throw that before he clears the defender not after. They all looked great vs MSU but taking that same amount of time gets you planted vs good fronts, and are the difference between a catch or a pass breakup from a fast recovering DB.
  25. The signs were there Codaxx. You know they were but you are just ignoring what he is saying to be right.
