  1. I explained the play to someone that didn't know what happened. No one said Quinn played perfect. That is your expectation not mine.
  2. Our quarterback throws the ball away all the time too so what are we going on about? A single rpo where he tried to run but decided not to have a go at the defender? Let's move on.
  3. That's not how a person thinks in the flow of the game. You pull the ball and see you can't throw it. Next thought is shit I gotta run. You are not out there calculating how things are gonna work out yardage wise on a pad and paper. You know you cannot throw it late so you try to run. Then you don't wanna get hit when a defender comes free. Simple as that. Get over it.
  4. I've been waiting for someone else to say this because had I said it we would've added 4 pages to this thread. Klubnik threw balls at receivers feet. Threw balls too wide out of bounds multiple times. Tried to throw a ball over Makuba and almost got picked. Tried to throw a ball backwards and pretty much fumbled, and even had the dreaded batted ball INT that we are on Quinn about. It's just the way they play spreading you out 4 and 5 wide and chucking it all over the lot looks pretty and piles up yards so fans tend to like it.
  5. Regardless of how you feel about it throwing it was not an option. Ideally you run and get some yards. He took off that way and for whatever reason decided not to take on the defender. Call him a pussy or whatever you want but that's what happened. I don't really care whether you think it showed low football IQ or not. People seemed to be confused as to why he did it so I explained the play.
  6. Fire off the ball and break when you git the receiver to turn their hips. Expect the ball on the outside to use the sideline to protect the pass.
  7. If a player that usually throws the ball in the stands doesn't there will usually be a reason. Looked to me like RPO. Line is running blocking so you have to pull the ball and throw it immediately as to not get called for linemen downfield. Saw something he didn't like and aborted the throw and left the pocket. At that point any throw, inbounds or not, past the LOS is a penalty.
  8. I mean I gave it to him. Or he can go watch who was on the field on some of those throws. 88 isn't a good pass rusher. We saw that last year. So when we get caught without 11 and 8 on the field while trying to maintain rush lane integrity you get what you got.
  9. Just a theory but I think Ant was Klub's spy and was having trouble dealing with the conflict they were putting him in. Usually he just has to come downhill and clean up the scraps but it looked like he kept being wrong on whether to cover or come after the QB when he left the pocket.
  10. Klubnik threw a lot of off balls they just caught them. The comeback on the sideline was high. The out that the dude had to jump for and then barely got a foot down. Even the TD to the RB was behind him he just turned and brought it in. Some of his throws were very good but they were catching the hell out of some passes tonite.
  11. No. What was happening was the receiver would push off at the last minute to get separation. Muhammed plays the man instead of the ball so that is particularly hurtful to his game because he isn't close enough to break it up through the receivers hands like he usually would do. The receivers they had were pretty good. You don't see that kind of slick play from a receiver at the college level. Those are veteran NFL moves right there.
  12. We want Ohio State because Howard doesn't look like that vs more complicated defensive schemes and our pass rush is a little more potent when we are facing less of a running threat.
  13. Hill. I think he got pulled some after that because he was bad in coverage.
  14. They spread us out and got one on one matchups that they liked. They weren't doing anything special just man beaters when they go man and sitting down in open spaces when they got zone. We got caught with bad personnel on the field a few times and couldn't generate a pass rush. We also had Simmons playing LB depth as a changeup trying to be cute. Clemson was smart and when they caught us they wouldn't let us sub. Muhammed was getting abused because dude was good at using his hands to get sep when the ball was in the air and he looked like he was afraid to be physical back. Maybe he was afraid because of what happened last week.
  15. I just want to know for shits and giggles which decisions you thought were dumb? Seriously
  16. ND is a paper tiger who got a favorable draw. OSU goes as the QB goes and he can look the total opposite of this and has. For me its Georgia and Oregon.
  17. They only look like that because Tenn keeps playing man and that is doom with tOSU's receivers.
  18. To me Wingo has been meh. He doesn't win battles for the ball and has a small catch radius. I am sure he can improve but right now he is not there.
  19. Those throws were not perfect. Dude has some good receivers.
  20. I said in another thread that we aren't that good at wide out right now with Bond gimping around and got blasted. Their receivers caught everything. Bad throws or not. They high-pointed the ball and were physical.
