This is true but back then there was no internet and information wasn't shared as quickly people had no way of knowing what was happening to them so things moved slower. You think Jim Crowe would've lasted as long if videos and stories of mangled bodies hanging from trees were circulating as they happened? Black people were being "Rodney King'd" for 100 years and no one believed then video cameras changed all that in a couple decades. We ARE in the middle of a second Gilded Age, and have been for awhile. However, people already have the information they need about what happens when they allow the things that lead to that, they just don't believe it currently. However, as soon as it actually starts affecting them they will mentally be able to reference the millions of "I Told You So's" on social media. Things move faster now. If marginalized groups were the only ones who were going to suffer I would say it's going to last a long time. However, the American people, fascist as they might be, are not going to take Christo-fascism. That will be the straw that breaks the camels back. White men, the ruling class, are not going to take oppression, and Christo-fascism is oppression for all.
