  1. Yeah…that’s not at all what the reporter asked. He asked him if he anticipated making any staff changes. Completely reasonable question, and if Gundy didn’t want to answer candidly all he had to do was give the same non answer we’ve heard a million coaches give: ”Well, none of those decisions have been made yet. We’re going to do what we always do after the season, sit down and evaluate every part of this program from the top down and we’ll go from there” Instead of saying that he decided to have a little tantrum. Mainly because he’s a thin skinned asshole who was in his feelings after seeing his team completely crumble over the second half of the season.
  2. This answer is dadcore as hell, but there have been several episodes of Bluey that made me turn away from my daughter to get my shit together. The ending of “flat pack” specifically always really sneaks up me
  3. Not really lulz or bitching exactly, but today was a son of a bitch. Got in to Tyler with the family and went straight to the hospital where my 90 year old grandfather has been for the last week with pneumonia. He’s hanging on, the prognosis isn’t terrible exactly, but he was really down and feeling like it was the end for him. And having that conversation with him like it was our last has just completely fucked me up for the entire day and holiday. I have a 5 year old and an almost 2 year old that he adores and they were so fucking sweet with him in the hospital room. We left and went to their grandparents (my dad’s) house and they have just been floating on air with Christmas excitement but I can’t fucking shake how sad I am. 90 years is a good run, but I love that man and I’m not ready. I’ve been blessed to have him be a huge part of my life, for so long. I have his name, and I’m fucking proud of that. My kids are so blissfully unaware of this part of life and are in prime Christmas years and I want to be present and soaking it in with them but I’ve just been outside of myself all day. I can’t sleep and I’ve had a little too much bourbon and I’m posting on a message board like it’s therapy but this just really sucks.
  4. I hear you, but what we need is a sure thing portal WR. We don’t need a guy like Milton who’s only available because he’s coming off a major injury, and I don’t think a pure potential guy like Jojo Earle makes sense for this roster either at this point. So I guess I’m just ready to find out who this mystery portal receiver is that we are super confident in. Going all out to get Whitt to return and jumping through hoops for Moore has me wondering. Or maybe I’m just impatient.
  5. This is sort of where I’m at short of a true stud like Addison from last year becoming available (or Stewart I guess, but that doesn’t seem like it’s happening. Your list above plus the possibility of one of Thompson/Red emerging feels like a pretty damn healthy wr room.
  6. Honestly I’m not really sure what a portal player has to do with Hall. He made 1 catch this year and we were desperate for literally anyone to step up at WR outside of Worthy and Whitt. The writing was on the wall that he wasn’t going to contribute here, doesn’t matter if we’re bringing in Evan Stewart in the portal or convincing Kai Money to come back and give us one more season.
  7. His contract is guaranteed for 85 million more dollars. Why waste time on a strategy
  8. Maybe he graduated, ever think about that!?
  9. I was told he was a “tackling machine” though
  10. Fun fact: as things currently stand, when you consider the last two 247 scores for their respective classes, UT is now significantly higher than the Ags: Texas 2022 - 289.04 2023 - 294.53 Average - 291.79 A&M 2022 - 333.13 2023 - 236.05 Average - 284.59 That’s without even taking into account the fact that they have already lost two five stars and several four stars to the portal from 2022. It’s incredible to see how little they are going to take advantage of the best class of all time.
  11. I think this has been discussed, but I love what we did from a roster management standpoint on OL. Keeping the numbers up and using them on high ceiling guys with longer developmental timelines is perfect after what we did there in the 2022 class. Obviously you take a class full of Banks’ every year if you can, but that’s not always going to be an option. So to see us go about filling the OL class in a thoughtful and logical way is really encouraging.
  12. Did they talk Whitt into a victory lap year?
  13. Stole him away from a sitting former national championship winning coach too.
  14. Looks like this is his 2nd P5 offer (ASU being the other) This incoming bread is going to do a number on that committed player average they are so proud of.
  15. He came off pretty well as far as those things go. Seems like a smart kid. Had some nice things to say about the Texas staff. When he got to A&M it was more about, “well, I wanted to stay close to home and they are close to home.”
  16. Because they’re fat
  17. Yeah, Brandon is David’s son. He made a movie called Possessor a few years ago that is all kinds of fucked up.
  18. I think it was the interception against SEC Powerhouse Texas A&M that really tipped it for him.
  19. I can’t say I’ve been eating BC tape this season, but starting every game and making 42 tackles for one of the bottom tier P5 teams doesn’t do much to convince me that he isn’t bread. Hell, BJ Foster had 47 tackles his last season here before finding his calling as an All-WAC player this year.
