  1. Yeah, I'm not defending Calzada (who does kind of suck) but his best play on Saturday was a scramble where he dodged a free rusher in the backfield and took off for a 25 yard td run. In other words, he made a play completely outside of Jimbo's offense. Same shit in CU when they managed to scrape out a W, all his best plays seemed to be scramble drills where he turned a blown up play-call into something. I remember the same thing constantly happening with Mond. He was athletic enough to make big plays in spots where there was nothing there, and Jimbo even tended to throw him under the bus for it iirc. Some shit like, "this offense works, quarterbacks just need to make the right reads" or something. Whoever the aggy was who said Jimbo's offense is hard to learn and easy to defend nailed it. If they don't have an elite OL and talent advantages at their skill positions it just doesn't work. Bottom line, Jimbo's caveman offense sets up his qbs to fail. Deep down, I think the propaganda ministry knows that and that's why they put so much hope in King's speed. They know their qb needs to be able to make something happen when his play-call fails.
  2. For all the talk about Florida being his leader, I'd be shocked if Stewart ends up there. Mullen isn't a closer in these recruitments, their passing offense has been underwhelming, and that program is starting to get exposed. Mullen is 1-5 against Power 5 opponents in his last 6 games. The most impressive thing he's done in his time there is manage to play Alabama relatively close twice. UF may offer TikToc influencing as a major but ultimately it's Texas of Alabama for Stewart IMO.
  3. Actually ousux was thinking correctly, Tope was in that same class. 2016
  4. Isn't Okafor pushing 30 now? May be Tope Imade I'm thinking of The top TX player in his recruiting class was Greg Little who's already on his 2nd NFL team.

Pretty much this. Saban/Alabama absolutely hammer into their players a culture that winning is the most important thing. Case in point, Jaylen Waddle. A guy who some labeled with "character concerns" because he was on the take in his recruitment. Would be easy to assume he was only looking out for himself and his eventual NFL opportunity. When he got hurt last season it would have been reasonable to just shut it down, take his time with rehab and get ready for the draft. He didn't have to play another college snap as far as his draft position was concerned. That's not what he did though. He rushed to get back on the field and played in the title game even though he clearly wasn't healthy. He risked hurting his draft stock because the gave a shit about being on the field and winning a National Title.
  6. FWIW, I guess it’s not the worst thing in the world if OSU is an early kickoff according to Sark. He mentioned that he likes getting to spend the rest of the day with visiting recruits after the game.
  7. It’s so funny, his whole narrative about Texas joining the SEC was that with Jimbo and their head start in the league, UT was in for a rude awakening about just how far aggy football has come, we weren’t ready, ags were positioned to be the dominant Texas team in the league… Now that whole thing basically just comes down to they didn’t lose as badly to the team that both schools lost to. As always, advantage aggy.
  8. Some people talked themselves into it being because Schooler was good, but in hindsight it probably should have been a much bigger red flag when he flipped sides and immediately became a starter at safety.
  9. To be fair, they seem to be inherently understanding that beating LSU is a bigger deal than beating A&M.
  10. Spiller will come out, he may be the first rb taken next year. I know, seems crazy but it’s a kind of weaker rb class.
  11. From Looch right after King was named the starter. Phenomenal improvement! He must have been literally pissing and shitting himself before. Lol
  12. Jimbo raise coming this week for playing such a close game against an undefeated SEC West squad?
  13. Generally I agree with this but some coaches seem to figure it out with those kind of guys. Matt Rhule quickly rebuilt Baylor and leveraged that success into an NFL job by grabbing lightly recruited guys that were fast as hell. Not surprisingly, he really wanted Owens.
  14. Still can edit, but I don’t deserve it
  15. Don’t want to derail the thread, but I’m confused how they ended up with the same charges and “points”. People are pointing to the kids as the main difference in the fact pattern, but shouldn’t that have added another charge? Reckless/wonton child endangerment or something (idk shit about the criminal code)? Either way that disparity is clearly bullshit.
  16. I saw that and almost spit out my drink. Maybe the most aggy thing I’ve ever seen.
  17. “Haynes King, who was tremendous in his first start…” 🤔
  18. Oh god dammit catch the ball
  19. Anybody remember exactly what Looch said about Calzada right before their first game? It basically was some variation of him being a truly elite qb that is only not starting because King is some combination of JFF and Jesus.
  20. This is so funny but frustrating that aggy is going to pull it out anyway. Oh well, aggies are fucked this year either way if Calazada has to play against any team that doesn’t suck.
  21. Wells said he’d take Texas vs. the field for Stewart.
  22. I missed this live, but Joe Cook pointed this out in his gif breakdown. We tried to catch them with some tricky shit in the 2Q. All the skill players stood upright like they were at the play-call on the sideline. Card even gives the no-look snap signal. Didn’t work here but just another example of a smart staff putting little wrinkles in to give us an advantage.
  23. Shout out all you guys who spent the summer wringing your hands that we were fucked because our offense was clearly going to feature Kai Money.
