  1. You don’t really like Sam as a player, you are all over this site saying as much. That’s fine, he certainly has flaws but you are the one letting the emotion of his time here cloud your logic. It’s a pretty dumb hill to die to say nobody except Texas and Westlake homers see any possibly that he could be an NFL quarterback when: 1. he was drafted by an NFL team 2. Beat reporters that have nothing to do with Texas have reported how well he’s playing not even half-way through his first NFL camp 3. The Colts lost their starter due to injury, have said they are comfortable rolling with the qbs on their roster until he returns, and now are giving him first team reps because he’s looked like the best qb left in camp. He has a real shot to start week 1 for an NFL team None of that means he’ll ever be a regular starter in the league but it absolutely means people outside of UT message boards see him as intriguing enough to give a chance.
  2. Lies. Doc is awesome. He’s sort of a dope. He was showing his ass on Twitter yesterday because in a largely positive segment about Sam, Mina Kimes called him “Not an incredible athlete” and he took exception. She actually responded and after a ton of very dumb back and forth with Twitter eggs he said that sure, Sam isn’t an elite NFL athlete but he’s fairly athletic. Which was her entire point in the first place.
  3. Surprise me then. Show me the news stories of liberal governors passing mandates that school districts can only be virtual. Show me the school board meeting videos of the teacher’s unions and little Johnny’s parents being escorted out because they are disrupting the entire meetings to yell about closing the schools.
  4. Do you seriously think there is a side that is looking for an "out" to keep kids at home and not back for in-person schools? Almost every parent is desperate to get their kids back in school if at all safely possible.
  5. He wasn't cut, he just ran out of paychecks.
  6. This. If we can bait that fuck-stick into calling us "classless" for daring to throw a touchdown pass with a double-digit fourth quarter lead, that would make for a nice little Saturday all around.
  7. https://www.instagram.com/p/CSZO3TWHvOU/?utm_medium=copy_link Is Davis practicing?
  8. Alright men, qbs and rbs with coach Drayton, ball security drills today. WRs with me, we’re drilling strategically advocating for yourself while always remaining respectful. Let’s get better today, Horns on three!
  9. Are you asking if we are doing “whine about a flag to the ref” drills?
  10. Wow. I was pretty bullish that he would carve out a place in the league but no way did I expect he’d be able to play his way into an actual qb competition for a starting spot before his first preseason game. He got drafted into a good situation (Eason sucks) and the injury to Wentz changed things, but still. Good for him, would be incredible to see him win the job until Wentz returns.
  11. Yeah, hard pressed to find a better position group that is setup for this season and into the future than Rb right now. Also, props to RoJo for working his ass off. Dude gives a shit.
  12. Evan Stewart is gone unless we somehow start SEC play for '22. Not sure anything less than making the playoffs this season will entice him into one or (gasps and throws up a little) two seasons in the Big12 before making the jump. I know the last few months has made it feel like we’ll never land another elite player but in theory we were right in the mix for him before he knew there might be a chance to play for UT in the SEC. And technically got him to commit to Texas when we were seemingly committed to the Big12 for the long haul.
  13. You stupid lemmings. Sure, listen to the “botanists” that say plants need water. Imma think for myself, only one thing I give my plants:
  14. Like a lot of you, I’m just tired and feeling hopeless about all of it. Lamar Jackson has gotten COVID twice, but still just isn’t sure if he should get the vaccine, he really needs to do the research and consider both sides. On one side he has access to some of the best doctors in the country who are almost certainly telling him to get vaccinated based on all available peer reviewed evidence and their collective expertise. On the other, some loud friends and family and Reddit conspiracies without any factual basis. Tough, but what’s important is we don’t judge him as he makes this difficult personal choice.
  15. Yeah this is basically what I'm thinking. The SAM (Ovie or Davis) would primarily be coming off the edge or stunting in this look, correct? He'll rarely be asked to carry a TE down the seam or drop back into a zone and cover slot guys.
  16. I don’t think we’re missing anyone specifically at that spot, and it would be pretty surprising if Gbena couldn’t beat him out there given the hype he was getting in the spring. I may be off base, but it sounds like that is the least important LB spot on the defense for the most part. Whoever wins the spot mostly won’t be on the field on 3rd downs or against obvious passing looks.
  17. He played WR at Lake Travis until Baldwin graduated, but he’s always been a qb. He’s probably had private coaching at that position since he was in the sixth grade.
  18. Tell me you don't spend any time in Southern California without telling me.
  19. Another press release from Bowlsby. He must be exhausted, poor guy isn't used to having to do any work on consecutive days.
  20. Fucking Brando. Most of the time announcers being biased against your team is pretty overblown but I've never seen anything like that last game he called. He was crushed that we came back and won that Tech game. At least Spencer Tillman went to OU, Brando is just a cunt.
  21. Opting out of his last two years of HS and announcing an Oregon commitment in conjunction with an exclusive Nike shoe line.
  22. Congrats to some of you old guys on your ability to navigate the intranets as well as you do. I went to earlier games but the first one I remember well is the RRS in '95, which was a tie. First game I remember at Memorial was later that season, a win against Baylor. My first game as a student was our opener against Louisiana Lafayette my first year on campus. We wore beautiful throwbacks, I drank way too much Southern Comfort before the game, and it was the start of a rather memorable season:
