  1. Oh fuck yeah. If this comes through I really want Juwan to end up at USC. Take Gaoteote away from Orlando and send him Mitchell as a replacement?
  2. I’m not sure that analogy works anyway but it’s flawed from the jump if you are assuming that Thompson is on a different level as a runner compared to Card. Athletically they profile pretty similarly. Regardless, all evidence from his career points to Sarkisian looking for the guy that can get the ball out quickly and to the right read in the face of pressure. Not the guy who can run for his life and improvise better.
  3. Yeah, your analogy isn’t bad really it just pretty clearly illustrates the point you are trying to argue against. There is no good analogs between the big names in media on the left and the right. You can’t come up with a public figure on the left with the reach of Tucker who traffics exclusively in bad faith arguments and lies. You also can’t come up with right leaning journalist who approaches their job with the intellectual and journalistic integrity that Maddow does that has any significant audience or influence.
  4. Banks is a freshman that would be learning a new position that he's never primarily focused on. It's no different than if they had a chance to sign him in February, get talent in the room and develop him but no way they are looking at him as immediate help, he's likely a long development curve. I am curious to see how Richardson will fit in to the rotation.
  5. Of the 13 he's listing at the Dorbah, Harris, and Oghoufo (and maybe more) won't be competing for the two ILB spots that PK uses and it doesn't really make sense to lump everyone listed on the roster as "LB" all together. There is some overlap with what we'd be calling a DE and OLB, they are basically edge players. Thornton, Oghoufo, and Davis were brought in as edge rushers. It seems like that is their main concern for this season at least.
  6. Oh cool, this stupid shit again. 6.8% of FCS players get drafted. 11% of P5 players. There is no rational or objective way to argue that he was a JAG in college football no matter how much his suits bug you.
  7. Fucking Saban, Harris and Brooks at the bottom is disappointing. Ewers feels way too high but IT continues to beat that drum.
  8. Looks like Looch got caught up in WRs under Jimbo conversation today too. I'm sure he's making excellent points but I have no idea what those may be.
  9. Impossible, look how close he gets to touching an SEC WEST receiver on this play: In a normal conference that's obviously a strip and score for Leon.
  10. Sort of. He seems happy with his OSU commitment and will very likely end up there but this isn't exactly predicting a Waddle transfer, signing Rashan Gary, or any of the other message board fantasies over the years. 9.95ers and posters in the know here have indicated that there is communication between the Ewers family and Texas coaches. If something changes with his OSU commitment Sarkisian seems to be making sure that Texas is his first option. Maybe that is just necessary due diligence because of his talent level or maybe the staff feels like it's a real possibility. I don't know shit about fuck but I'm feeling pretty good about our chances with Manning in 2023 in the likely event we miss on Ewers.
  11. Wait, how is he going to prove to everyone that he's the smartest person in the room if he doesn't stubbornly impose his system on everyone no matter the context? I'm beginning to question whether Sark is even driven by his own insecurities.
  12. Yeah, 1st round TEs haven't exactly hit recently: 2020: none 2019: Hockenson (8), Fant (20) 2018: Hurst (25) 2017: OJ Howard (19), Evan Engram (23), David Njoku (29) 2016: none 2014: Ebron (10) 2013: Eifert (21) 2012: none 2011: none None of those guys were really talked about as quite as breathlessly as Pitts is, last guy like that was probably Vernon Davis picked 6th in 2006. He had a nice career but it took him a while to really make much of an impact and he didn't really live up to his pre draft hype. Certainly didn't revolutionize the position or anything.
  13. Other posters here know OL play better than I do but I think this is right, especially for what Flood prefers in his units. Which is why I'm a little skeptical that he ends up taking Okafor's spot at guard.
  14. No doubt, but they have the advantage of his current commitment and Day's success there. If their qbs struggle this season it's easy to just sell that it's on the players and things will take off again once Ewers enrolls. Sarkisian at Texas is more of an unknown. Not that I think Sarkisian will have a particularly tough time selling his ability to develop the qb position.
  15. I've been wondering, is there a Catch-22 situation with Ewers? If you're still holding out hope that he's a possibility the assumption is he wants to see our offense in action because if he flips again he wants to make damn sure it's the last time and he needs to see progress being made. Seems reasonable enough. He's also a guy who probably expects to play right away. If Card wins the job and lights it up that's a great data point that Sark will be able to work his same magic at Texas, but will Ewers be hesitant to come in behind a guy who has several more years of eligibility? Conversely If the qbs struggle Ewers would be confidant that he would win the job but unwilling to sign up for the uncertainty of playing in an offense that has yet to truly turn things around. TLDR: we need our qbs to play well to convince Ewers we will be a high powered offense, but if our qbs play well he may unwilling to risk being a backup qb for a few years.
  16. Christ...just took a look and this is not an exaggeration. There will only be 2 ranked teams on their schedule when the season starts and one of them is LSU who will get the benefit of the doubt but is coming of a 5-5 season.
  17. Certainly possible but if you believe Sark's comments Okafor was our best lineman in the spring (yeah I know). There is probably some coach speak there for a veteran who is consistent and works hard but he's he's strong as hell and played a lot of college football. Mostly poorly but still. With good coaching and keeping him the hell away from tackle maybe he's finally ready to be a thing. If that's the case I guess Karic goes to the bench and is the first guy called at G or T as needed. He was the most common OL splitting their first team reps according to the 9.95ers.
  18. I'd take Banks on defense for sure but seems like he could kill it with Sark as a H-Back/move TE. Guess that is a spot where we don't really need numbers though. It's pretty frustrating that we have so much room under the 85 but the 25 cap is limiting us (if it actually is). Seems guys are going to keep entering the portal that would be legit options for us.
  19. Haha, maybe just shut the fuck up Leon?
  20. Another class of 2016 guy too. Between, Dunn, Thornton, Davis, and Schooler the average age of our defensive 2-deep would make BYU blush.
  21. Everyone except the a&m propaganda ministers have Harris as a Bama-Texas battle but a large portion of their roster bagging on his buddy can't be a bad thing for us.
  22. Yeah we don't need to go full aggy and pretend Leal isn't good. He's performed up to his ranking and will be a first round pick. He's also a little bitch who drank the koolaid so he can fuck right off.
  23. Damn, I expect it from Leon but not sure why Leal decided to subtweet a guy who wasn't even on campus for 6 months.
