  1. I guess mascot speaks for itself
  2. Agreed completely, I though it was great until the ending:
  3. Actually I think this is a good one. She was really good in Winter’s Bone and then started getting huge franchise roles and the David O. Russell Oscar bait-y stuff and she was anointed as a great actress and movie star. Every time I’ve seen her in something after WB, once I stop focusing on how hot she is I usually question her acting chooses and start wondering if she’s actually just bad. Like I said, she was anointed, those nominations don’t mean anything to me. Big fan of Joy? Have you seen American Hustle lately? Silver Linings Playbook is fine but pretty over rated IMO and she doesn’t blow me away in it by any means. She is great in Winter’s Bone so maybe belongs in an “actors who are great in one role but underwhelm from there” thread.
  4. And if he goes to Alabama he’ll have to beat out a two year starter in Bryce Young. Clemson will have Uiagalelei in the same situation. If he really is the third once in a generation talent in the last 5 years I guess that will be no problem. Or he can go to LSU or Miss and be named the starter immediately. If he want to sign with one of the heavy hitters though chances are he sits for at least a year.
  5. Not necessarily. Bryce Young and DJ Uiagalelei were the top two qbs last year and didn’t. Rattler was #1 in 2019 and didn’t. In 2018 the big two were Lawrence (who didn’t outright win the job until a few weeks in) and Fields. Maybe Ewers is on a different level than all those guys except Lawrence but I don’t think Manning is.
  6. Eli Cash is hilarious. His brother is cool though and is probably a better actor.
  7. They held him out but didn't say why. Spring practice reports were pretty positive on him, sounded like there is a good chance he'll be #2 on the depth chart.
  8. JFC, how are we bumping up against the 25 man limit but Lincoln added 1/3 of Tenn's roster and they are still in play for every new guy that hits the portal?
  9. The $9.95ers have seemingly been trying to speak the Christian Jones thing into existence since he was signed but this staff does seem committed to giving him every opportunity to win that LT position so some potential is there. If they unlocked it this quickly it says a lot about Flood (and Hand). I love this line a lot more if a healthy Kerstetter is an overqualified 6th guy who you can plug in almost anywhere as needed. A lot less if he has to be a starter out of necessity. Nahlin's downstream effect about Karic potentially moving to guard "long-term" means the 2022 season I guess? Hard to believe our best line this year wouldn't have him at one of the tackle spots.
  10. Yeah, Ingram is not a transfer that I will begrudge any success. Couldn’t be happier with Bijan and RoJo leading our backfield next year and I hope Ingram gets his mind and body right and has a great year and gets an NFL shot. I might get worked up if all of a sudden Orlando pulled his head out of his ass but that clip looks familiar enough that I feel pretty safe on that front.
  11. Hmm, that would be pretty surprising. I wonder why? He was their 2nd leading receiver last year and just had a nice spring game. Should be penciled in as a starter. If their new qb is any good you have to think he'd put up some nice numbers in little Briles' offense this season.
  12. I read this and immediately braced myself for Carl swooping in to tell everyone that there isn't a single attractive female enrolled at the University of Texas before remembering that he was sourced months ago.
  13. Right, Cook is 11 now.
  14. Antonio Pierce must be the most charming fucker on the planet or ASU has started to seriously play the game.
  15. I guess we can confirm that Jordan Palmer owns a Ping Pong table.
  16. Despite the handwringing about it over the weekend there are reasons to be optimistic about the OL. Or at least not hide under the covers about it. This staff has been aggressive chasing transfers for spots it has identified as weak points (edge rusher, ILB, WR) and has so far been content to stand pat on OL. So Flood and Sark at least seem to think there is enough talent there for now. Good coaching and scheme can make more difference at that group than almost any other and we probably have the 2nd most talent there in the conference even if it doesn't feel like it. A truly dominant offensive line may still be a few years away but average to above average is pretty attainable this season.
  17. I read that like even though Cook has been playing well Adimora has a strangle hold on the job. Pretty sure Dunn is best as an outside guy, I think if he came in and was clearly one of our top two CBs the idea was we could move Jamison to nickel but that doesn't seem to be happening. If he's our 3rd CB he'll get plenty of playing time.
  18. Not for nothing, but: I guess it’s debatable whether we pulled that off. Reason to believe if we land Worthy it will go a little better.
  19. What’s the deal with Harrison, he’s been back with the team practicing right? Don’t think I’ve seen him mentioned a single time good or bad. Estelle has got to be in his last year of eligibility at this point so there is no real upside to the coaches having the talk with him about how it will be tough for him to see playing time. Of course he may see the writing on the wall and make that determination himself.
  20. I’m not sure if Herman ever did? Even his victory formation was in the gun.
  21. IT said the staff has their eye on a WR who is considering a transfer but wants to let the spring play out or something like that. I think they said he was a “quality player” which would obviously be way underselling the dude I mentioned. So even if it’s real nothing imminent. You are fine going with a lighter phone checking schedule this weekend.
  22. Oh yeah I know. Been lurking around on Shag and posting here long enough to know when to actually get defensive about shit.
  23. Thought this thread would be a fine place to post baseless wish-casting that I read. Back to female lumberjack talk. Girl 2nd from the right seems like she's hiding some RATs under that flannel and would be legitimately pretty if she wanted to be.
  24. There is likely nothing to this but if you want to daydream a bit during your Friday happy hour, somebody speculated on IT that this was Julian Fleming. Mentioned rumors that he was considering the portal and Sark was a big factor Bama almost signing him. https://247sports.com/Player/Julian-Fleming-46040058/high-school-191412/ I seriously doubt that the #3 player in the country would transfer after 1 injury plagued season but who knows. I didn't go searching on Buckeye boards to check if there are actually rumors. He wasn't on the 2-deep when they started spring fwiw. https://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio-state-football/2021/04/122277/brian-hartline-says-julian-fleming-is-a-special-individual-who-has-missed-crucial-development-time-shoulder-injury
  25. Oh yeah she's on one. Her Twitter page is pretty funny, she basically hadn't tweeted anything since 2019, he mentioned being single at his press conference and she was off to the races.
