  1. Go read A Course Called Scotland by Tom Coyne to get some ideas, especially about some of the smaller, lesser-known courses.
  2. Thanks, Fart. That is interesting. I think that was a one-time thing given that Fertitta bought the team after some bets had been made. Given this language: "The sportsbook then removed the Rockets from the list of teams available to bet and reposted odds on the team to "finish best" in the Western Conference and the NBA Finals." since the bet became "finish best" with reposted odds, I'm sure the Warriors odds dropped a bunch, i.e. not as good as if you bet them elsewhere to "win" the Conference.
  3. But you don’t remove them from contention. You just can’t bet on them.
  4. Course looks beautiful to me. Exactly what a seaside links should look like.
  5. Um, have you not been to the Stanley hotel? About the greatest collection of whisky/whiskey in one bar I have seen.
  6. Please tell me that last name doesn't begin with "R" and end with "p"
  7. I like your use of the term "duck slice" to avoid the actual term that should never be said out loud.
  8. @capnamerca Bat signal has gone off.
  9. I wouldn't be shocked if some of the juniors go in rounds 11-13 and still sign. Some teams will have some extra slot money leftover, and some people are ready to go. Those two parties often find each other. Hopefully not, though.
  10. If you have a way to get on Lubbock Country Club, do that. It is a cool course.
  11. I feel like the closing must have been based on something else, because we went a bunch of times and it was always crowded. Who knows?
  12. 17th hole, pin front right. Uphill about 123 I think. Hit is little choked, cut 9 iron. Hit it really well right at flag. We couldn't see the hole from the tee, but when we pulled up to the top, only saw three balls. Other team in our group looked in the hole and there it was. My third ever, pretty sweet. Played the best round I have in a while. Shot 35 on back 9, eagle, three birdies, one par, three bogeys and a double. Ended up shooting 74, and we tied for first for the day in our flight and finished tied for second in our flight for the three days.
  13. Nice, but you should know better than to put my face on a picture with a white belt. Neither age nor waist size is under 34.
  14. Jhawk, I think we are talking about 2 different Shadow Glens. Horn21, and I assume BayouBill are talking about the abortion of a course in Austin.
  15. Bone, no one is arguing that it is a bad play for that player. However, his taking a card could just have easily helped the rest of the table as hurt them. That is what we are saying.
  16. Math (and specifically probability) is apparently hard for the OP.
  17. Think it is about time for an iron fitting for me. Last thing I need to do (besides actually get a decent swing).
  18. Just saw this post. I am in baseball withdrawal this year. My son is 15 and played Northwest LL in Austin for 8 years, then two years of Northwest Pony. He is a sophomore at Anderson (June birthday, so he is young for his grade but old for baseball with 4/30 cutoff). He decided last year that he didn't want to play in high school, so this is the first year of no baseball. Bummed me out for a while, but right decision for him as he (not so humble brag) is ranked in the top 1.5% of his class. School work is his thing, and baseball is double blocked, so he would lose two classes. Dad still misses it though.
  19. Is the Saturday round net? I hope so, because Horn21 is a well known sandbagger.
  20. Yeah, we just showed up a few weeks ago and sat down and they let us order the chef's tasting. Pretty sure you can get it whenever you want.
