  1. If anyone wants to feel good about what you’re paying for your pool or landscaping or really any project, feel free to ask what we’re paying for those things in Midland. I’m enjoying it though
  2. Yes, there are no vents in the back of the front row center console as one would normally expect to see. There are vents on the floor under the front seats that are meant to cool the back and coupled with a strategically aimed front vent seem to keep the back row cool enough. I wasn't being intentionally snarky.
  3. There are no vents back there, but the ones up front seem to be strong enough that if you point a vent at the back, the passengers stay comfortable.
  4. Bronco is here. Been having so much fun with it, I forgot to post. Had it about 10 days. It’s sweet, but I already want the raptor version.
  5. I live in west Texas, but my quote was about $12k to prep, level and re-sod 2,900 square feet with Tahoma 31 bermuda. There's an additional $21k for flower beds, plants and irrigation, so ... it could be worse
  6. Finally got around to snapping a photo. (Complete with photo bomb by Murph and Penny) We swam for the first time on Easter, but haven’t been in again yet because we had a dust storm and 1/2 of west Texas ended up at the bottom if the pool. Any recs on getting it out of there quickly? My pool builder said to just brush it toward the drain and let the filter get it. But I’ve probably brushed the entire pool 8 times over the last couple of days and each time it’s a little cleaner, but there’s still a lot of dirt left behind. It gets super cloudy, then it settles out over an hour or so, Rinse, repeat
  7. My builder dropped this in the pool yesterday. He couldn't get it working before he left, I think they're coming back to try some other shit this morning. Anyone have one of these? Thoughts? https://www.polarispool.com/en/products/pool-cleaners/pressure-automatic-pool-cleaners/polaris-3900-sport
  8. After a VERY long delay, we finally got plaster and swam for the first time on Easter. It took about 36 hours to fill with two hoses running wide open (~38k gals). I'll send a pic once I have a chance to remove the 1/2" blanket of oak pollen that is currently floating on the surface. Our deck is complete and we have sod down as well. Now we just need to finish the landscaping (flower beds) and the out door kitchen needs counter tops and appliance installed. I'm hoping to have the project complete by the end of next month. As to outdoor furniture, ours will trickle in over the next two months. I was pretty surprised at how much the "good" stuff costs, but we are hoping that by paying up we will get more life out of it and have to replace it less often, I'll report back on that.
  9. We are living in a simulation: https://www.usnews.com/news/us/articles/2022-04-04/new-york-set-to-ban-natural-gas-in-new-buildings-environmental-groups#:~:text=April 4%2C 2022%2C at 2%3A02 p.m.&text=(Reuters) -New York Governor,Watch and other environmental groups.
  10. My first car was an '81 280zx This brings major nostalgia to me as it looks more like the original profile than any since the 2nd gen 300zx. I also love that it comes standard as a standard, I don't know if I'll buy one, but I'll def be making a trip to the dealer to test drive one when they start showing up.
  11. That corolla is like a fat chick with daddy issues ... it'd be fun as hell to tear up for a day, but I def don't want to own one.
  12. Speaking of Ford ... they just sent me this pic of my bronco coming off the production line: Now the agonizing wait for it to show up at the dealer ...
  13. $13 move down in two trading days ... does the market think OPEC is gonna open the tap? Is all this from the Chinese lockdowns?
  14. This echoes a conversation I had Saturday night with the president of a large publicly traded E&P on Saturday night. When I asked about the political pressure he is receiving to pick up rigs, he said something in line with this. Basically, he said they have been preaching capital discipline and return to shareholders since the pandemic collapse and for them to go back on it now would be short sighted. He also said that a decision to pick up rigs now wouldn't actually bring any additional barrels to market for 9 months at the minimum, and likely 12 - 14 months.
  15. Mid-April is looking like a real possibility:
  16. Maybe they learned the lesson from last time and they'll actually call some of the refiners?
  17. The value of my place in CB is up ~40% in the year that I've owned it. If you're doing better than that with your assets, than I applaud you. A large part of the appeal of CB is that it's actually in the middle of fucking nowhere. Still not terrible to get there since Gunnison is a good airport 20 minutes away and several major airlines fly in there. Plus, I don't have to get anywhere near I-70.
  18. After postponing my build date by one week, it appears that my bronco is now in production. I'm told it takes about 3 weeks to build and another week to get here ... My birthday is mid-April, so that would be one sweet birthday present.
  19. Being in downtown Midland the last 14 years, I've seen some of everything you describe. There's the group of Concho dudes that didn't make the cut with COP so they went out and got a bunch of PE money, fancy offices and big salaries while they hunted for assets ... 18 months later, there's no salary, no office and no assets, and one ticked of PE backer. Then there's another group, who have awesome office space which includes a bar with every bourbon you can think of and they let you sip on it while you pitch them your deal, so they see a hell of a lot of deals, and have done quite well. At our small E&P company, my partners and I have refused to go the PE route, which means modest office space, no sports memorabilia, and I drive an 8 year old pickup. In spite of all that, over the years I have toed the line of bankruptcy several times, but managed to avoid it so far. I'm not totally responsible though, because I do have my obligatory place in Crested Butte, country club memberships, etc.
  20. This why I love it. O&G is an industry for those with very high risk tolerance. Those that can survive the swings and attrition end up being handsomely rewarded, assuming they have positioned themselves correctly (and it takes some luck too).
  21. Just spotted in Midland. The only thing it’s missing is a Super Nautique on a trailer behind it. #$100 oil
  22. Just got an update … Pushed one week from original production date, so far. [emoji2371]
  23. Mine started around the same time as yours ... also waiting on the hook-up of some of the equipment, then plaster
  24. Very slow going on my project. The deck is finally in, waiting for a non-windy day to stain it. I think we're waiting on the plumber to hook up the pool equipment so we can plaster ...
  25. Well, I just got notification that the Bronco I reserved on July 14, 2020 will go into production the first week of March. I sounds like I should get it around the first week of April. It has been a VERY long wait. I hope it's worth it. This will be the first vehicle I've ever bought without even driving one ... I sure hope I like it.
