I’m 42. Like I mentioned in the OP, I’m now hitting a golf farther than I ever have. I can fully turn my back to the target and I can feel myself load up through the trunk. I was a runner for a long time, and as such have had really tight hips, they are still not great yet, but I’ve seen a lot of improvement.

I drop a lot of water weight, usually about 2lbs from a 1 hour class. But I’ve lost a pound a week on average since I started and yoga is the main thing I changed.

I definitely think you’d see serious benefit from 2x per week ... especially if you weren’t doing much at all before. I just have a bit of an extreme mentality and wanted to dive all the way in.

    Yoga

I think it’s temperature regulation, also, if you’re doing it right, it’s hard as shit and your heart rate is elevated for an hour. I’ve also had a similar experience. I used to be unable to sit on the floor at all. Now I can sit on the floor with my kids for an hour and barely notice. I can also sit down and stand up from the floor without using my hands ... which is new.

As is my wife, she had been in my ass to make a serious commitment to it ... it only took a decade.

    Yoga

Any yogis on the Surl? After doing maybe 3-4 classes a year in the past, I decided in Jan of this year to commit to 100 classes in 6 months. As of today I'm at 60 classes and I can say that the transformation has been even better than I expected: - I've lost 21 lbs (back to my pre COVID weight) - I've added about 25 yards to my driver at the golf course - I get to hang out in a 90 degree room with a bunch of (mostly) hot limber chicks in spandex - My posture is better and I have less back pain My preferred flavor are the heated vinyasa flow classes, but I'll admit that I haven't tried many of the other ones. Anyway, maybe this thread is a place for discussion of thoughts and ideas surrounding all things yoga, or maybe (likely) it devolves into just a bunch of pics of chicks in yoga pants, either way I won't ragert starting it.
  7. Okay, I guess I'm really dense ... Before Tuesday, I had no traditional or Roth IRA account set up. On Tuesday, I opened a traditional IRA account and put $6000 in it selecting the 2020 Tax year. I plan to put another $6000 in there for the 2021 tax year as well, but the questions is, can I go ahead and do that, then convert the $12K to a Roth all at once, or do I need to convert the $6k from last year now, then do the $6k from this year at a later time? Also, any benefit to keeping the traditional IRA account open with no money in it so I can do this next year, or do I close it once it's empty?
  8. Like the title says, there's lots of opportunities to slip in a humble-brag here and there in a post, but I believe it will be entertaining for us to have a place where one make their fellow posters question their life choices. I'll start off with some low hanging fruit: Thanks almost entirely to @RCRanger03 I've made enough money reading in the Penny $tonk thread to pay off my mortgage (not that I've actually done that though). P.S. This site has rules, so if you talk about how hot your wife/SO is or tell a story about the 3-some you participated in last weekend ... then its pics or GTFO
  9. There many not be much appetite to discuss anything outside of Bitcoin and ETH here, but if there is, I just opened a gambling position in NuCypher (NU) over the weekend. Does anyone have any knowledge to share on it? According to the nerds who follow this stuff, the near term price target is 200-300% from where it currently stands ($.70)
  10. I had meetings all afternoon yesterday so I missed the fireworks with TSNP as well as the intro on SPSO. I've submitted a SPSO order for market open because I FOMO like that.
  11. Anyone have intel they can share on Throne Petroleum? I'm looking at some of their stuff and might make an unsolicited run at it, but background info would be good. Eg: Who's their financial backer, does anyone have personal experience with them (good guys? shit heads?), anyone know about the quality of their operations? TIA
  12. I just doubled my AMYZF position ... the market as a whole is getting blasted. Maybe all the big investors are worried that Yellen is going to pull some fuckery? That plus fed chair powell is supposed to talk in a bit and maybe people are freeing up some cash ahead of that discussion.
  13. Sold 1/4 of my FPVD position this morning at ~3,000% gain. If it claws back to a dime somehow, I'll sell another 1/4 then try to forget I own the rest. Also, WDLF is the lone bright spot in a sea of red for my play account today.
  14. I know there is a thread for this, but if any of you oil barons are in Midland/West Texas ... we have power/water/heat/internet (so far) and I'm happy to help. I know many here in Midland have been without those basics for a while now.
  15. Apologies, I confused your profit taking plan on XMET with FPVD ... it's hard to keep all these prolific penny $tonks straight.
  16. I don't know how to see the Bid/Ask info on Schwab, but FPVD is currently parked at .0999. I guess RC wasn't the only one trying to snag some profit at $.01
  17. Just 100 hours, no incidents. Wanting to do my instrument training in my own plane, lack of insurance options is making that difficult.
  18. I had heard that insurance rates for pilots have gone on quite the run lately, but damn ... I just had Assured Partners (AOPA) tell me that I'm uninsurable in a PA-46. It looks like I can get insurance in a bonanza, but it's gonna be like $15k in premium, with a high deductible. Someone convince me not to just roll without insurance? Thanks mostly to the Surly $tonks thread, I'm paying cash for the plane, so my exposure would mostly be liability, and if I kill/hurt someone with my plane, I'll have much bigger problems than how to pay for the damages.
  19. Ha, just now OBMP was at $3 before SupDup tweeted about it, now's it's $3.80 ... at some point you wonder if the SEC is gonna give her a call ...
  20. Whoever was asking about shroom stonks, I'm in PSYC and it's up 98% today as of this writing. Thanks to that, WDLF, FPVD and a couple of new smaller holdings, I'm up 3% in the penny/stonk portfolio on the day, even with XMET, PFMS & ALPP currently acting as boat anchors. I currently have zero strategy for exiting any of my 30+ positions, most of which are free shares. I guess I'm gonna need to figure that out ...
  21. I'm riding 750,000 free shares of WDLF from a random pick up back in December. It's been nice to see it finally wake up and start moving the last couple of weeks.
  22. Thanks @RCRanger03 for the heads up on SNVP. I just exited 20% of my tiny "free shares" position at a 2100% gain. I think I'm gonna ride out the rest to either the moon or the side of a mountain.
  23. Another vote for Schwab with the low/no fees. The trading tools suck (although TradingView is better than the standard offering). I currently have 26 open positions in the OTC and have never been rejected a trade.
