You need to toughen up. Fuck, 32 degrees is not cold. Y’all are some billy bad asses! To be fair, 32 would be warmer to what I was describing. But honestly, what’s the clothing procedure? Running outside for exercise is new to me so for now it’s just shorts, tshirt and staying away from people. And when it’s really cold, walking the pup more than a half hour just seemed to suck (Besides i had the gym so why bother). do you use gloves, ear covers, long sleeve and long johns under shorts? Or prefer the same summer gear?

You run outside when windchill is in the single digits or when it stays below freezing for weeks at a time? Congrats, I can't do that.

So y'all mask up for lifting? Skip the aerobic/running/bike machines? NYC still closed but not sure I'll go back since I have kettlebells arriving in a week or so and been running outside since March. Who knows what I'll do when it gets cold but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
  4. Got damn, Talk about a good flick from my formative years .. just hesitant to call it old school but I guess that also applies
  5. Queens report, need to look up the recent cases/hospitalization trends but after 2 big bars got shut down, the last week or so has been relatively calm. Sheriffs are out again in force and even the eastern euros are trying to be less rowdy. Looks like Stein-AMi got shutdown. ... at least as of 930pm
  6. Saw this at my local hole in the wall (priced in the mid $50s I think), the story itself is pretty cool. Was it worth it? It was the same place I saw the BT kosher bourbon/rye and today no wheated but they did have a rum finished Redemption. Not sure how good any of those are but they are definitely unique considering the type of shop it is.
  7. God forbid the worst happens, from an economic and purely selfish standpoint, what’s the Immediate effect on the global/USA economy?
  8. Reminds me of a tweet (I think) where it basically says: Time traveler from the future: Has it happened yet? Am I too late?! Me in 2020: You'll have to be more specific!
  9. Yeah, no. To be fair I haven’t been in the city since March but there have always been a shit ton of mentally unstable people in nyc. And in queens since March, I have not noticed a higher number. Morning rush hour, midday, after work gets out, all the time it was possible in the city pre-CoVID. If they are sticking out more now, it COULD but not necessarily be explained by the fact that there are less “normals” going out so the people who need help are just not blending into the background. now, are there more people on the edge whom CoVID pushed over? Maybe, can’t definitively say no to that but I have not seen a higher number of them in the streets near me. I’ll be honest, the tweeter sounds like a sheltered individual but I don’t know her from Adam (Eve?). There’s always random but not necessarily crazy shit going on. i will say there is a fair amount of pent up energy but unlike other years when that same energy would manifest in fights and crazy shit in early June and then be done, this year it’s more a slow constant release. It feels like different pockets of society are letting loose at different times so it’s like a slow roll of people just wanting to feel alive instead of one big universal valve release of “fuck the winter it’s summer and let’s feel alive!”
  10. LOL, just walked by some of the trouble areas, sheriffs out in FORCE. Still early but crowds/people almost somber. Going to a bar nearby to see the fireworks unfold. Or not. People need a release but also to be safe. I hope we find a medium that allows for safe partying but who the fuck knows what that is. Fuck this virus
  11. As I’m sitting outside on broadway now At Salvatoria, a HUGE blm bike protest is rolling through. Probably 5k strong. But everyone is wearing masks so that is nice
  12. Sadly, no. The vids in this link are only funny cause of how much people just don’t give a fuck, but they are funny. Link and story
  13. That’s farther down, Just by a couple avenue blocks. The blink gym in his subsequent day after tweet is my gym And shows Lunera, Basurero, and ritmo 60 which are all lots of fun in non CoVID times, but I’ve seen them all have zero distancing for over a month now.
  14. Why is that news/tweet worthy? Not looking at you but the person behind the tweet. Been that way for a while now, at least a month. that said, this was the high street 2.5 small street blocks from my place on Thursday night: Link On the one hand I’m jealous cause I’m not going and it’s tittays on parade season But on the other hand, if incidence of the bug in the nyc population is closer to Europe levels (wasn’t there a graph on here a couple days ago showing 736 total cases for all of NY state?) and this is all outdoor, maybe it isn’t that bad? Honestly don’t know, but I hope we don’t and aren’t shitting the bed all over again. The tweet was from Thursday but it’s been like that for weeks now and last night was no different.
  15. 😡 $7-900 here in the city
  16. Yeah, it’s hitting close to home even for the careful people. But no doubt where my relative got it, they’ve been treating positive patients since March and been rotated on/off the ward/section a couple times at least.
  17. Fucking shit. My relative in the Austin medical community tested positive today. Day one of symptoms was yesterday and the test results came back today. Isolating at home now and luckily their spouse/kids have enough room to manage the next two weeks but the spouse had life threatening pneumonia a few years ago so they’re worried about that. These next two weeks can’t pass fast enough.
  18. I’m just upset that the stupid writer/editor thought a trigger warning was worth using. But I guess any use of one would go in the trivial things that annoy you thread.
  19. yup, thats been the worry from the onset. If only the simple farmers, people of the land, and common clay of electorate understood that.
  20. Catching up on the thread so this is late but first two things: 1) That sucks re: covid but also more importantly 2) sorry about her foot, hope it gets better quick and that's all y'all have to deal with. Y'all gonna hear this a lot from NE/nyc folk but from march to june, there was no fucking way I was risking any serious injury. Miss me with that bs of having to go to the hospital and be near covid folk. No way. Y'all stay safe/healthy and avoid serious injuries as much as possible.
  21. So basically what NY state is doing after the initial fuckups? Wish Abbott would allow for local control and only manage in a stepped back, macro level.
  22. completely agree with your post but only because accurate info is one of our only weapons in this, I think i read that the latest research pointed at pre-symptomatic and not asymptomatic fueling larger outbreaks. I could be wrong though.
  23. Never heard of medical tourism?
  24. Yeah I’m not buying them anymore, even though I used to get them bc they were comparable quality wise and Latino owned. No more
  25. Fuck trump and fuck you and your family if you support this piece of shit traitor. Fucking disgraceful what is going on in this country due to trump.
