  1. Very similar situation to 4 people I know here in queens. No doc will test them, told to just quarantine and wait it out. Hopefully the antibody test actually comes through Some day. Related question, any hard facts on how long one is contagious after recovering?
  2. link? Always nice to see shitbags being called out. edit: nvmind, sorry, should have kept scrolling down.
  3. Did I say I was blaming the spread on trump? It’s two different things to blame the spread on someone as opposed to blaming them for not taking any reasonable precautionary measures (and I didn’t mention either before). Way to inject bullshit like your stupid prior post. You’re talking out your ass about things you literally know nothing about. You type like a real moron. You know nothing about nyc and the city is better off the more it stays that way. As for why nyc is getting hard and not japan, not sure. I’d wager that’s more of a country and culture thing in USA v Japan. Or it could be the Japanese national government acted while while everyone from cuomo up had their thumb up their ass. But honestly don’t know. You seem to have a theory, spill it. you also upvoted a post with tweets from early feb As a ... sign that nyc deserved the virus bc it embraced Chinese New Year? Not sure. Maybe City wide social distancing could have helped then but seems like a number of other nationwide measures would have been more prudent at that time.
  4. In regards to Social Distancing, not sure if it goes here or the medical thread (although i've never clicked on that one), but how susceptible is one to infection at a local normal sized outdoor track? The park here was just reopened late in 2019 due to a year long remodel and the track within is huge. But with gyms closed and two mini-ish soccer fields inside the track, everyone is out there running around on nice days since the WHO called it a pandemic. Haven't seen anyone doing team sports but there have been small clusters of people, no more than 3 or 4; and of those none of the clusters interacted. Didn't see anyone coughing either but guess that doesn't mean much. I've gone twice and both days were very sunny, very windy, and cold. I stayed mostly 4-6ft away from people while running around slower runners, but now wondering if it's a hotbed for transmission. I'll still run at the park since it's easy to stay 10-15ft from most people there but the track is hella nice.
  5. and it was to done to combat stupid racists like you who were assaulting anyone of asian descent or thinking they could get the virus by eating at chinese restaurants. if you can't understand the reason for showing solidarity with chinese residents here in nyc in order to combat xenophobia, you are even dumber than your posts from the last two pages.
  6. YOU STUPID PIECE OF SHIT, how the fuck do you think healthcare people get to work? they just live next door to the hospitals? how the fuck do you think pharmacy and grocery workers get to work in order to feed the city? HOW FUCKING DUMB ARE YOU???? jesus fucking christ, please don't reproduce and add another stupid piece of shit to the gene pool. GOD YOU ARE FUCKING DUMB.
  7. Yeah, that’s not what the link says. But I doubt anything anyone posts here will convince you of that since it’s pretty self evident, stay healthy
  8. We were? Never saw anything for that. Got a link? I could have missed it. Or are you wrong and thinking about italy? also to borrow your expert analysis from before, it could be that Texas is not “officially” progressing at the same rate bc you aren’t testing at the same rate ny is. If texas never ramps up there testing then poof, they’ll never progress at the same rate. Unless you got a credible link for why you think Texas won’t progress the same way ny is (aside from refusing to test people), every other model shows it will. But I’ll read a real link if you got one.
  9. in regards to "No more national leadership or mentions - this thread will only be for local instances of public policy by local I mean LOCAL, only city/county level discussion is allowed. The national and state public policy talk needs to move to Cloak Room as there isn't a conducive way to include it and have members of the board not feel attacked politically" does that mean the thread won't allow mentions of the Cuomo PCs or really just the info presented there? Don't think there has been much mention of his political BS but others have brought up the figures he presents. There are posters in NY/NYC (it is also the area hit the hardest right now and a preview of what the rest of the country will possibly have to deal with), VA, couple in WA, MN, etc so figure'd I'd ask for a ruling on whether "local" meant TX only or what. Thanks.
  10. Cuomo on, had a reply but got lost. Yeah he is longwinded and grim (agree with @PenelopeWitherspoon) but at least has facts and confronts the situation head on. Do people look to the TX, CA PCs as much as this one? Not trying to be CR just wondering if they are as informative. But damn, Cuomo is longwinded as shit. Stick to the facts! And agreed that they need to include info on recoveries and not just focus on the bad shit (although not sure if thats to keep dumbshits from wanting to break social distancing or if he just is not wanting to which is bad info). EDIT: todays talk mostly about ventilators and talking about putting them in the acute need areas and moving them "personally" to the next area that needs it. Re: liquor stores, NY and TX don't sell liquor at grocery stores and it's dumb as shit. Yes, liquor stores need to be essential until that bullshit is fixed.
  11. Current or updated Link? Dr. Fauci unequivocally stated you don’t get reinfected at his first or almost first PC. The the Japanese article questioning re-infection had also just come out so there “official stance” is no reinfection I’d guess. Even the link you posted said the reinfection might not be real. But that’s the rub. Even in nyc people are still breaking SD. I want to believe this article but it’s main premise is flawed.
  12. yeah, i posted on here about going out on the 7th, but that was the last time i was at a bar/dining at a restaurant. Saw tons of people out on the 14th in bar crawls and a few on the 17th. I wanted to go out real bad but there was no way in hell. I shouldn't have gone out on the 7th either but too late now.
  13. ever had their tequila? least think its the same company, maybe not. but its legit.
  14. It sucks compared to the cuomo one.
  15. You’re lying. No one said millions would die when you were being an ass; only you and AKH were spouting that bullshit. Only in the last 48 hours have bets been popping up.
  16. i don't see what you're seeing. not in nyc or at least not in the areas i've been around. they might be pissed off but they can't force people/customers to just appear. You've posted 4-5 weeks on a few threads, not hating, just not seeing the actual rationale for that. I don't know when things will slowly start opening up again but once the cases pile up, the timeline will be pushed back. IMO it is too early to put a guess on the date things open up if we haven't even gotten anywhere near peak infections. Everything is delayed 10-14 days on that so any date predictions are just too early at the moment.
  17. good lord, you..should probably just stop right there.
  18. Related, not related to Florida, in Ecuador they’ve been overall pretty good about social distancing, they closed schools weeks ago, restricted certain types of church activities from the get go, and overall have taken it serious. Except for Guayaquil. They pulled a Florida and partied all weekend and through yesterday. So the government said fuck that Link en español, instituted a 4pm curfew yesterday and isolated the entire city, only vehicles entering and exiting the city are big rigs. We’ll see if it works but hey, at least the memes of not giving a fuck have been pretty funny.
  19. Appreciate the info, hearing the same. To everyone in Austin, stay safe out there. Power and water aren't going to go out, just netflix and chill. Stay inside, please. I don't want to doxx them but I have a very close relative who works in the UT med school and at a local hospital. Spoke to them and their spouse today, the person told me they were terrified of what they saw at the hospital today and CV is going to fuck shit up. Call it alarmist, i don't care. I'd respond with go fuck yourself but Austin is going to need all the help it can get very soon. Everyone even AKHF please do what you can to stay healthy. Sorry they/you are going through that. Agree that lying to get tested is best ethical option here. Both my parents are in their mid 70s, and my dad is retired but started his own business to keep busy and kept going to work this last week but "only when it was absolutely necessary". Finally think he understood today that he has to shelter at home but only after I was a real asshole and him hearing what the aforementioned relative had to say. Told him that since my mom has been listening and not going out, if they get infected it is solely bc of him and it's his fault if she dies. Also had to tell him I didn't want to have to bury him in a month, to please stop going to work. This is going to suck, a lot. I'm praying I'm wrong.
  20. Yep. I've noticed a lot more families getting out in the evening s in my hood lately. A lot more dog walks are happening. Dogs might end up living this out of rep but thanks! true. if i wasn't trying to keep my immune system up, i'd be bottling up for sure. props to those drinking at home (nyc bars now delivering drinks just like food) but i've gone sober for months at at time before, so three weeks to a couple months now ain't no sweat.
  21. Serious question, so i'm good if i walk the dog for an hour twice a day but remain away from folk and just mind my own business? Go on a run alone on less populated side streets? Outside of those two things and grocery store runs, i've been S-I-P since thursday. Since gyms and bars are closed but liquor stores are open, i'm a little confused on what the guidelines are/is allowed.
