  1. Trump wasn't on the ballot. Beto was running against Lyin Ted, his wife is ugly and his dad killed JFK, Trump supporters know this and stayed at home.
  2. Ahh, so the president is accusing his former lawyer of lying to the Feds. I guess congress should get him in front of their committees to clear this up.
  3. What other options do they have? Yell loudly? Hire hitmen to threaten their families if they don't come before their committee? Seems like taking it to the third co-equal branch is all they are left with.
  4. No shit. Even my dumbest Trump supporting friends admit to me that they hate his incoherent tweeting. If every subpoena elicits one of these 50+ dementia tweet storms, keep them coming.
  5. But that would mean there is hypocrisy in American politics. I don't buy it.
  6. Hey hey, let's worry about the conspiracy theory there might have been malfeasance in the genesis of the investigation before we start worrying about the 400+ pages of malfeasance laid out in meticulous detail right before our very eyes. First things first.
  7. Seems pretty open ended. I think there is plenty of room to creep, especially with FWFWFWFW: Grandpa Barr calling the shots. "The OIG, in response to requests from the Attorney General and Members of Congress, is examining the Department’s and the FBI’s compliance with legal requirements, and with applicable DOJ and FBI policies and procedures, in applications filed with the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) relating to a certain U.S. person. As part of this examination, the OIG is also reviewing information that was known to the DOJ and the FBI at the time the applications were filed from or about an alleged FBI confidential source. Additionally, the OIG is reviewing the DOJ’s and FBI’s relationship and communications with the alleged source as they relate to the FISC applications. If circumstances warrant, the OIG will consider including other issues that may arise during the course of the review."
  8. Good thing Horowitz is currently investigating all of that. I'm sure his conclusions will be as earth shattering as his Clinton Investigation Investigation's were.
  9. Same. Just not sure what questions are left unanswered on it's origins.
  10. Jeb Bush campaign started it. Clinton finished it. It wasn't used to start the FBI counterintelligence probe or to appoint a special council. A lot of it was corroborated by Mueller, some of it wasn't. What exactly is there to "investigate"?
  11. I'm not trying to make a definitive statement that it would backfire on the Democrats, just saying that if they don't take that possibility into account it would be a dereliction of duty on the part of the party, as their number 1 goal should be taking the White House in 2020. They might have to apply some game theory to get that done.
  12. Ummm, I'm referring to campaigning on healthcare, protections on preexisting conditions, expansion of medicare, etc. so that they can get elected and be the President and control the Senate.
  13. The gamble is that everyday American's who don't follow politics are tired of hearing about Russia/Mueller and will resent the Democrats keeping it in the headlines instead of pivoting to healthcare, civility, tax cuts, etc. the things they are actually polling very well on. Impeachment would suck all of the oxygen out of what could be winning talking points.
  14. Apples to Oranges. Clinton would have easily won a 3rd term (left office with a 66% approval rating, highest in the history of any President leaving office). And Dems gained in the house and Senate. Also, Gore won the popular vote. And that all took place in the middle of the dot com bust.
  15. The better, more recent, example would be Clinton, who saw his approval ratings soar during and after the impeachment hearings. I think that is what scares Democrats more than anything, and rightfully so. Impeachment obviously isn't getting Trump out of office, so the question is what does a hearing do to his chances of reelection, if recent history is a guide, you would have to think it only helps. Nancy knows that.
  16. Trump is very adept in finding ways around the founding fathers visions. All of the acting secretaries out front shoulda told ya.
  17. I just spent a long weekend there and it was an awesome trip. The dollar goes a looooonnnnggg way down there and the food and culture are top notch.
  18. If you've never been, I'd do San Francisco. If you have a week, and the budget, go spend a couple nights in San Fran, then drive the hour to Napa and spend a couple days exploring that region. San Fran/Napa is my favorite vacation in the States.
  19. Out of curiosity, who of those close to Trump, did not get interviewed by Mueller?
  20. To be fair, if we all kill each other, then all of this bullshit will eventually stop. Will also be a great way to curb carbon emissions.
  21. Thank you for your thoughtful, intelligent posts. A welcomed needle in this thread's haystack of sophomoric bullshit.
  22. Aren't you an attorney? Do you bill your clients for all this time you spend on message boards?
  23. She was also part of the first female class at Yale in 1969. I bet that pissed you off too, letting women into college.
  24. Do you know that or are you just assuming because she's black?
  25. Sheila Jackson Lee, who often says dumb shit, but has an undergrad degree from one of the top universities in the world and a law degree from one of the top law schools in the country.
